She left an abusive relationship and moved 6 hours away in a GMC blazer type rig with all her stuff and then lived in it for a year and worked as a janitor and saved her $$$ to buy a van and convert it to a hiigh top and made the interior look like a live aboard sailboat :)

How is it
I've always been worried about traveling since most RVs, even small ones, are going up in price. So, seeing vids like this really gives me hope to do the things I want to do and go places I want to go. Thanks for that.
That’s wonderful, I’m so happy to hear that :) also, the pandemic has caused a huge spike in rv prices since the only place people could go for a year was outdoors. In a few years there will be many gently used RVs for sale at a much lower price ☺️
My fear with a RV is gas mileage and mantice I can barley afford taking care of my jeep

So cool! You did a really good job maximizing your space, and it looks like you can still sit up and reach everything when the doors are closed, and that's a feature a lot of build-outs miss
Great video! My recommendation is to use plastic versus wood to lighten your car load. This should help with fuel economy. Also, consider having a tire iron next to your bed; functional in case of a flat plus a handy weapon. And solar luci lights. Look forward to more content❤
An even easier way to set up a bed than creating wooden structures is to get a portable single bed, or a massage bed. These beds usually come with steel frames and are very sturdy, while being comfortable.
I like your set up. I am just starting out in my car camping as a solo female, my set up which is also a no build is a working progress. I need more space saving 💡 ideas. However I had a lovely sleep in my car from just ensuring that my surface for my bed was every levelled out and I had good pillows to support my head and back. Loved my 3 day car camping experience. Loved it. Happy to see a set up.I can actually relate to as have a small hatchback. Will be mirroring some ideas with a twist that works for me as a part- time car camper. 😁

Nice. I have a sonic hatchback, so I wouldn't have to take the back seat out. Nice to know I can fit a bed in without sacrificing the front seat. I also like your board.

I just want to say thank you for your videos. I've wanted to do car life/van life for years but my husband doesn't want to and now we have cats and can't leave them. So I'm living vicariously through you. :) I even have my whole build planned out and my whole arrangement for how I will work, shower, etc. But sadly I don't think it'll happen, so your videos are like a carlife patch. :)

I‘m 6’3”. I built mine out of a 2013 Cruze. Same as you, I removed all seats but the driver. Alpicool cf45 fridge, two 62Ah house batteries wired to the alternator. A 3,000watt pure sine wave inverter, 360 camera and an on-board air compressor.
I love my 36mpg camper!

This is a really cute layout that is both not intimidating for those who may not be comfortable tearing their vehicle apart but still wants a comfy and homey tiny cabin. 😊 👏

the biggest challenge for sedans is finind space to sleep even if you remove the passenger seat but that rear seat trunk entry changes everything. great use of this vehicle its all low key too nobody would guess theres a matress in there. great work.

I agree this is tough to do for a small car like this. The hatchback would of allowed for way more room. She did a good job although. Now she just needs some solar and maybe a power inverter. Hauling those green bottles of propane not a big concern either as they are vented. So a small portable propane grill if she can fit it would be a cool addition depending on what she wants to do.

Excellent first video! I did a similar conversion in my sedan with the bed foot area in the trunk.

I would mount small battery powered lights to the piece of wood in back. You could also utilize magnets or or a strip to hold tools, knives, a pair of scissors, metal cup or a flashlight. The curtains probably add warmth, but you could also use magnets or small hooks and stretch a peice of fabric or a tarp cut to the right dimensions to cover the rear window. I have a small car mysrlf and hatdly room for emergency supplies.
My mom has decided to kick me out of the house and I will have to be living in my car on Tuesday watching this video has made me feel at peace knowing I’m not the only one and I will get through this. I have a 2 door 97’ Honda Civic so a little smaller but thank you for this!

I’ve got Chevy sonic. It’s a shame the back area can’t be made comfortable with the seats still intact. I tried it and can’t bring myself to remove seats. Yours is very cute! I’d love to go car camping. Maybe I’ll just sleeep passenger side seat lol or pack a tent.
Before I permanently took out my seats I was actually able to make it comfortable! The seats fold down so all you have to do is find something for the trunk end to put under your feet and then put a sleeping pad on top. It will be the same as mine, just higher up. & thank you! I have seen people attach tents to Chevy Sonics, maybe try that :)
Just a note, we all come back now, take shoes off, and stay awhile
That's a lovely conversion, amazingly spacious inside. I noticed no mention of cooking pots and equipment and a cooking device etc ... do you eat out all the time or did you just not show us those bits? Also ... what about toileting? #nosey #telluseverything
Hahaha I am willing to spill all! I have a backpacking stove which is tiny and convenient. As for the toilet, no room for one in here so I usually use a public toilet...when I can find one!

I never used any cooler or refrigeration! Just got non perishable foods or bought food the day of to eat
The aztec blanket and wood really do make a nice difference. What about food/refrigeration/cooking? Great tour btw!
I keep my food in the bin shown in the video, for now just dry food so no refrigeration! I have never found it necessary, however I have since added a one burner stove for cooking :) thanks for watching!

At least now I know it's possible to live in my car (I have the same, a 15 sonic sedan) and I'm afraid I might lose my house soon, so I feel a little less worried knowing I can make it comfortable-ish.

Doing this in a car is so doable and super stealth.
What type of bed is that? Memory foam? Is there ply wood under it to support the bed? Looking to do a simple conversion and I am stumped on how people get a flat surface and what "type" of bed they use.

What's the TH-camrs channel that jelped you out? I actuallt just did a sleeper conversion on my civic and stull have some ideas to qdd to it. Good job on the video by the way! I really like that you retained the passenger seat. I removed my passenger seat and the bottom cushion from the rear seat. It still has the back rest and seatbelts so I can still have one passenger and they'll have a ton of leg room
