  • Part 2: We just got home, it’s the middle of the night, and we’re getting the quail situated in their new homes. Tag along to meet the birds and see the general overview of how the Hatching Time quail cage functions when put to the test.
Part 1: Travelling to Binghamton, NY, we ended up buying way more birds than we thought we would. See the drive and meet the breeder. • Getting Our Indoor Qua...

Yep! they make fantastic pets easy to train, easy to keep, easy to house, cheap to feed, they lay edible eggs and if something goes wrong rather than a huge vet bill you get a free meal instead..... that's a win win situation,,,,,,

To keep them indoors you will need to seal up your household vents and get three HVAC filter pads and a box fan. Make them into a box. this will take away some of the dust they create. Otherwise your whole house will be filled with it. It will clog your home system quickly. I know from personal experience!

We ordered directly from hatchingtime.com so unfortunately I don’t have any advice. Maybe keep an eye out on Facebook marketplace!

We actually have a whole different set up now. This was filmed over a year ago and we haven’t made any videos in a long time. They’re much happier in the current set up!

Thank you for your concern! We actually agree. The cages are marketed for quail, so we trusted the manufacturer. We would not recommend hatching time quail cages. They are now in a different housing situation with free range and are very happy. We will be doing a quail update eventually but they are no longer in those cages. Thanks!!

I would not let this clueless couple keep quail. I almost lost the will to live during that monologue about a simple airlock. The cages are the epitome of cruelty. He didn’t know they could fly ‘that much’; they’re birds. And their handling was cringeworthy; hold them appropriately and transfer them in subdued light. You guys need educating. You’re hobbyists - but you’re dealing with living creatures. Too much to dislike here.
