Welcome to The Fleshman Farm! Here, we homestead in a city. In a year, we'll be transitioning to a larger scale, full farming operation practicing regenerative agriculture, permaculture, and all the crazy things we learn from now to then. QUAIL HATCH & First Egg EVER!!

We got our FIRST EGG EVER! Even when we had chickens (in an HOA), we had to rehome them before we got our first egg. The wait for this little nutrition packed morsel, was so worth it! The hatch started off with 42ish eggs, and then we added 17 more once our quail egg turner arrived (yes, we're severely underprepared at all times). We ended with about 30 quail! Daily Indoor Quail Care

Catch Noah feeding, changing water & bedding, and not so successfully wrangling quail in the spare bedroom. In order for quail to lay eggs in the winter months, you need heat & sunlight. Therefore, that room stays at a constant 75 degrees, and we keep artificial light on them for 12 hours a day. That's why Noah's sweating!!! Follow us on instagram for updates! Instagram: @emfleshman

The first few days of raising our indoor quail have been.... well, mixed emotions. We got our quail egg turner in the incubator, and dropped an egg. Unfortunately, the reality of raising animals hit us quick, and we ended up losing one of the chicks.
