As a teen who gets bullied for liking childish things (I was mostly bullied for liking Disney, MLP, etc. even tho the bullies has 90s cartoon sweaters/hoodies) that really made me happy to know they had an episode talking about that stuff.
My favorite episode is the one with Grandma Bishop, mostly for Hoodsy's story. How many kids shows deal with the concept of losing someone you don't really love? Those feelings are just as real as grief, and Hoodsy had a valid reason for doing so (favortism toward Dodie). Slashbash Losing Nana Bishop hits home for me now even more than it did as a kid. My grandfather passed away early in the new year and I struggled with why I wasn’t grieving as much as the other members of my family were and it was because I wasn’t close to him. My emotions were more anger based than sad and it was hard to manage them because everyone around me was so devastated and I was just like meh
@@horsechick818 I know what you mean, my paternal grandfather died over a year ago and I honestly wasn't that sad. He'd been on the decline for years and I wasn't that close to him. It was more of a relief as we were going to move that summer to somewhere that was a lot further away and he needed a lot of attention and care from my dad, aunt, and the homecare assistant he shared with my grandmother. As a person, he was difficult and a man of his time. When I did cry at the funeral, it was more because everyone else (especially my dad) was crying rather than because I missed him.
One of my cousins was murdered several years ago. I didn’t really know her very well because she was several years older than me and she lived several states away. But her funeral was absolutely devastating because of seeing how hurt my family members were and knowing that I would never have a chance to know her better
My Uncle passed away a little over a month ago, and while he was nice to me, I couldn't cry at his funeral. I wasn't close to him. I hardly saw my Uncle because he hardly came to family events. I dont remember much of him when I was a kid. When I was a teenager and adult, we would greet each other and join in discussions but that's pretty much it. Everyone was crying throughout my Uncle's services, while I couldn't. I cried a little at the hospital when he passed but that was it. I felt guilty everyone else was devastated and I even tried forcing myself to cry but no tears came.
I extremely dislike Dodie I never have and never will I never understoodwhy Ginger didn’t throw out the trash, I get it’s about friendship and staying together no matter what but I didn’t see Ginger stab that two face in the back no matter what she did to her. Ginger will never be forgotten in my heart it was one of the most meaningful shows I ever watched hands down, and I still love it to this day.
It was a a under the radar type of show. I'm a dude who had youth football, hockey and lacrosse after school along with neighborhood friend's... Still I always found time to watch this after school and in the mornings sometimes... My older sister of 4 years deff had a role into it lol... Nick channel did a horrible job at airing this.. All the older season's/episodes seemed like they never aired them in the mid 2000s. The more iconic shows like Rugrats, SpongeBob and Rocket Power played their later season's 24/7... Not so much for this show unfortunately...
I personally love any episode with Courtney in the lead. I love how the show made her different from the typical rich popular girl u seen in a lot of shows. I love that she grows nd learns how to be a true friend nd a better person in general. I smile every time she is on screen. The episode where she warns ginger bout her so called best friends plot and ruin her relationship with her boyfriend showed how far she came and how much she valued her friendship with Ginger. Courtney may be a bit of a snob at times but she is a lovable snob.
*No Hope For Courtney* is such an underrated episode, two great storylines with a LOT of meaning, especially the sad life lesson that Carl gets in the end. It's a great episode showing how much of a good person Carl (and Hoodsey!) actually is. He really matured in that one... ❤❤ *RIP Kathleen Freeman* ❤❤😢
I find the ginger storyline very sub par and boring but the Carl storyline is great and the ending is so heartbreaking. Makes me kind of teary eyed to this day
As told by ginger, braceface, my life as a teenage robot, pepper Ann, Daria.... All young female protagonists In Cartoons I could relate to growing up in the 90s to early 2000s.
Wish more people would talk about this cartoon :) so far you're the only channel I can find that does. I really Like this show and I think it deserves more attention.
When I was younger I straight away connected with ginger because of her Talent for writing it's a shame that they don't make sure like this anymore I wish them brought her back also I often wonder how Darren got back together with ginger
I wonder the same thing at times...I get they had to end the show in a short amount of time but it would be nice to have known or seen how they ended up back together.
Braceface had that Dinsey tween thing going on.. I love those shows but they hit differently than Nick shows.. Just look at the Nick Doug and than the Disney version of that... Disney is better at bringing out the emotions during a movie... Nick was always on a more conscious level with their shows/cartoons
Funny comparison... You can take the average early teenager and relate them to a episode of Told By Ginger... It was so Jr high vibes throughout majority of the series... It kind of had a 2000s type kick to it in terms of fashion and what was hip and what wasn't.. Daria is a complete 90s fest throughout the entire series.. If you weren't born early enough or have any older siblings in high school at the time, than you won't be able to relate to at least 80% of the show...
@@americangangsterlock1550 Uhh, NO. I was a 90's kid but never actually sat down and watched Daria until the early 2010's and I found it still relatable as fuck, still relevant to big and small issues today, and most importantly, still a funny and emotionally resonant show when it counts. Daria may have been born from snarky 90's alternative culture and did often superficially cater to that culture, but it's also more than that, even decades later.
The only thing I would have added is how the episode Ginger the juvie also shows how influential peer pressure is and how even someone as sweet and honorable as Ginger can feel pressured into doing something wrong. That was another thing I liked about ATBG how she's almost portrayed as a Mary Sue but clearly makes mistakes
@@cintsscha5899 Right actually in some cases it somewhat can even make Dodie seem relatable don't get me wrong I hated Dodie and she was a horrible friend to Ginger but she's realistic in the sense that people are sometimes so desperate when they want attention that they're willing to show disloyalty to get it
😃 My favorite episod is the Nurses Strike episode. Mostly because I love Lois' optimistic and easy-going attitude about cleaning houses temporarily. My all time favorite quote from her is "Ginger, they can't make me feel bad about it because I don't feel bad about it." That alone inspires me to have a positive point of view about life 😁 🙂 Rewatching these as an adult, Lois and Macie are my absolute favorite characters. Both are blunt and hilarious 😂
@oooh19 🫤 Yeah, I didn't understand why she couldn't let Ginger's shave her legs. It seemed harmless to me compared to the makeup episode. Now that I understood why Lois was strict with Ginger.
#5 the episode's message is too real for me. when I was a teenager, I was an outcast, because I didn't like typical teens' stuff, but instead I liked Disney, reading and anime, such as Digimon and Sailor Moon. many people mocked my interests, especially tv-shows I watched saying that they were either "girly" or childish. I felt embarrassed and hid my interests and tried for many years appear as "normal". nowadays I'm more comfortable with my inner geek and I tell openly about my interests.
I predicted that "And She Was Gone", "Hello Stranger", and "Butterflies Are Free", would be the top three episodes! I don't blame you; it's the same as on my list, too! Although, I'd put "Hello Stranger" over "Butterflies Are Free", because its main plot was something that I personally find to be more relatable and touching. Anyway, great list, Patricia!
Andria B Awesome! If you’re interested in more ATBG stuff, check out a weekly As Told by Ginger I cohosted. th-cam.com/play/PLXziGc54_DgmHtVoHhm1fNQpnt7fKFvvU.html
As someone who's starting college after the holidays, I'm mortified about what's going to happen. I also have autism, and that makes it hard for me to adjust to changes. It'll be a good change, and I know I'll make it through, but I'm still scared. So I relate to the last one a lot.
My comment is more centered on the whole "growing up" thing. I'm turning 25, I still love cartoons and anime (yes, I'm separating them). I still have my worn out piggy bag (yes it's a bag) from 20 years ago and will probably have it even when I get married. So looping it a bit, I also loved the show.
I watched every episode, and every movie. This was a walk down memory lane....and, I dove deeper into my own writing because of this show. Specifically, the episode "and the was gone" for how thoughtfully Lois supported ginger, how she knew her daughter and was not worried about her. UGH! such a phenomenally beautiful show!
The Nurse’a strike episode is great. I love when Lois tells Ginger about her apartment she had before she had Ginger and Carl. It definitely resonated with me
Awesome list, Patricia! I myself am a major As Told by Ginger fan as it one of those shows that needs, repeat, needs so much more love than it already has. I also did a review, a top 25 favorite episodes list and even a tribute video to this show. Some of the entries mentioned here like A Lesson in Tightropes are actually higher on my list. Though, I totally agree with you, Butterflies are Free is my absolute favorite as it's also my number one favorite!
I am chronic depressed, so ive dealt with depression and suicidal thoughts pretty much all my life. And when i as a kid I pretty much only watched cartoons. I remember to this day the first time i watched the epsisode "And She was gone", it was so groundbreaking for me to see my own feelings portrayed in a cartoon, it felt liberating. I had never seen anything on tv that translated so well my thoughts. After that i started writing poems and stories for the first time, something that really helped me growing up and that i still do today. I will forever love this cartoon for this. p.s: Sorry my poor writing, english is not my first language
As told by ginger was the last nick show I ever watched but it was a favorite probably because episodes resonated with me like when I lost my paternal grandmother when I was around fourteen
I agree with most of these, although one of my favorite and heartwrenching moments was left out of the list, as #4 I would have put the one where Carl finally drives his teacher to quit, as it not only shows so much more of Carl's depth and character, and the ending made me cry, since after pouring his heart out to her to come back and finally being sincere, and he's so sure she will come back the next day... The announcement is made she has passed on, showing that sometimes, no matter what, there really are no second chances in life sometimes, it really reached me deeply.
OMG I can relate!! I'm almost 26 and i love video games, cartoons and anime and idc what people say. When people say that, I tell them "your not about that life, so don't fucking worry about me. Worry about yourself." I hate people like that. I always put assholes like that in their place! Great video btw! I love As Told By Ginger!!
Thank you. Glad you liked it. If you're interested, this was part of a month's worth of videos about As Told by Ginger if you want to check it out. th-cam.com/play/PLXziGc54_DgnPpwnRpmIISF6gb49BYh_7.html
I love that guy’s speech. It really reached me. I love video games, I also love reading all types of books. I’m getting a Master’s Degree in Public Health.
I think if you read between the lines, A Lesson on Tightropes is about a lot more than just Ginger's appendicitis. Its about how families and friends are effected when someone has a near death experience. Carl prays even though he's an atheist, their mother reflects on the joy that Ginger brought into her life as she was born and grew.....etc. And so what if it's sad? Sad is a normal, common, every day human emotion that is necessary to our well-being.
I totally agree with the #3 choice I suffer depression occasionally and I can relate to her friends and how they feel about her! Also the segments do look amazing! Plus was I the only one who was crying a little throughout those segments?
I never agreed with people that the character were "ugly" I always liked it. Kinda like in "Hey Arnold" or "Rugrats", the characters look distinguishable
It might sound silly, but the episode about shaving legs left a huge impression on me. In middle school, I was super insecure about leg hair and everyone else shaved. I felt like the only girl who refused to have to shave my legs but also refused to wear anything that would show them. I don't know; something about having to shave felt like I was giving in to some battle against nature. Anyway, just seeing the topic come up on a TV show made me feel so much less like a weirdo and realized other girls went through similar issues. :') lol
I remember relating to the episode where Lois becomes a house cleaner during the nurses strike, as my mom did pretty much the same thing. My mom was a nurse but to take care of me and my little sister, a mortgage, our pets, and other normal life things she had to constantly pull double shifts 6-7 days a week, so we never really saw her, and she was really struggling just to make ends meat. When i was 9 or 10 she decided to quit her nursing job and start a house cleaning business. I remember being so embarrassed because kids at my school who's families were much better off were hiring her. Now no one ever said anything to me about it, but the thought at my mom having to clean these ppls toilets, clean up after them, etc. made me not only embarrassed for myself and my sister, but made me feel bad for my mom as I thought they would treat her like shit(never happened) or look down upon her. My mom being the great mom that she is had a talk with me as she could see I was extremely upset the 1st year or so of her new business and promised she wouldn't take anymore jobs of friends from school homes. After that I was fine with it, and I definatly got to see my mom more as she was her own boss, and to this day still has the business that has become extremely successful.
I liked your video! It's funny as a kid I remember liking some episodes of ATBG but since I was 8 or 9 years old when it first came out some of the issues didn't always feel relatable but now that I'm older I feel like everyone can relate to some of the issues in this show esp the little seal girl since so many people are pressured into "growing up". I find it horrible that society tries to spite people just because they feel nostalgic and like to relive the same innocence they felt as a child. I'm 25 and still like Pokemon and video games to this day!
Here's the thing: the issue is not the concept of growing up, its the concept what is considered to be growing up and what isn't. There are plenty of people with different hobbies and interests who dont do the things that theyre actually supposed to be doing. You can be a pokemon fan and have a stable full time job, a family, and pay your bills on time. You can also be a fan of the "Vanderpump Rules" and be a useless non functional memeber of society. For some reason, some hobbies are associated with useless dumbasses and others arent. I get why but it still doesnt make much sense
This was an AWESOME REVIEW of an AWESOME SHOW! man...to see all these years go by..if it werent for the heartfelt speeches of growing up, I would feel super down that I've gotten so old lol
Thanks. I’ve went more in depth about As Told by Ginger in my other videos and podcasts. Check out the As Told by Ginger Month and We’re in Between playlists.
Well said, I am 27 and I am a huge fan of Disney and all things Disney related, play video games from time to time, watch cartoons and anime, but I am also a teacher, have my own house...heck I am a married woman. I may be a person with lots of responsibilities, but I find watch Disney, anime or playing games helps escape from everyday lives, but I do use them as references to relate to my teachings for the kids. Disney will always be in my heart no matter how old I am, I plan on being a 100 year old woman watching the latest Disney movie in theaters lol
@@ajmainiac938 yes, and I loved Nickelodeon. I was just stating like how ginger, dodie and Macy love the little seal girl and they were teenagers, I love Disney around that age and still do
I definitely relate to the episode Little Seal Girl. When I was reaching my adult years, I was told over and over to stop watching cartoons that are meant for kids and start watching stuff meant for adults. I tried to please them, and I did find a few good adult shows I genuinely liked (i.e. Friends, Big Bang Theory, Young Sheldon, The Simpsons, Family Guy, etc.) but I felt a bit more at ease watching cartoons, including cartoons from my era. They relaxed me after a long, stressful. Nowadays, I still watch kids' cartoons, and I still have a few plushies, including from my childhood, and collect Little toy figures and pins from my childhood shows to show my "nerdy and proud of it" side.
That's one of the episodes I still remember from this show (although vaguely). I liked how, in the end, her brother helps shave her legs for her with an old electric razor.
+Old School Lane. Hi,Patricia. No Hope For Courtney is the saddest episode ever out of all the Nicktoons because Carl's teacher passed on at the end of the episode and Carl looks serious in that episode.
So far, I'm a minute into this list, and I want to thank you for sharing my opinion on "A Lesson in Tightropes"! It's #15 on my list, too, for the same reason as yours.
i wish i knew you. we would be able to discuss cartoons extensively. when i was 14, i went back and compelted Hey Arnold, Rugrats (lets be honest, after season 3 it was less mature and more childish. )
Down here in Brazil, mainly for those who born at 90s, As Told By Ginger were and are very popular as well. Personally, I LOVE THIS CARTOON! It represented me soooo much on my teenage years (specially Carl's behaviour) 😂😂😂 GREAT VIDEO BY THE WAY.
I seriously love all of your videos! Do you ever plan on doing videos for Avatar The Last Airbender? I know it's not as old, but it has a huge fan base & has a lot of amazing episodes & storylines.
conservative here, it absolutely pisses me off when people hate on others for enjoying childish things. i'm gonna watch TAWOG until the end of time, thank you very much
Hello one of your videos was in my recommendations a few days ago and ive been watching a bunch of your other videos since. I really enjoy them and i think you do a great job! Keep up the good work🙂
15-I kinda don't like that episode- i feel its a bit TOO dramatic and they just turned Darren (especially Simone) into a huge douchebag, when Darren cared about Ginger to the moon and back. But I do love how they focus on Carl in the episode and give his view 14-I dont remember a lot about that episode, and forgot all about Carl's subplot.. who was the daughter he hurt? or do they mean Noelle? 13- This is a really good Macie episode. I love episodes that actually shine on her or show the friendship she and Ginger have rather than show how much of a terrible friend Dodie is. also a really good Hoodsie episode and shows Carl being a supportive friend 12-I dont think I watched this- pretty much because i dont like the idea that Miranda pretty much set Ginger up and was pretty much the worst thing you can do to a person (until later on in the series). But now that I see it on here, the rivalry of Carl and Blake makes sense 11-One of my favorites- though its pretty harsh for Ginger to imply Courtney gets punishment when Mipsy and Miranda should have gotten it- Courtney was essentially innocent 10-"You've flipped your lid, Carl!!! You lost it and it can't be found!" 9-I really don't like "Ginger is amazing!!" Episodes- and the backstabbing episodes just increased way too much 8-Amazing episode-for once Ginger is in the wrong and actually told to back off 7-It was kinda sudden/dark how it happened (i think it was implied heart attack), but one of the only good Dodie episodes 6-Amazing episode, Lois is best mom 5-I adore this episode, Macie comes out on top, and courtney does get taken down a peg (love courtney, but expecting to win just because of who she is is kinda wrong) 4-My favorite (even if the twist should have been revealed in the end for the audience) and the ending is great 3-A very dark episode, but very well made. Kinda dont like the "You always write happy so the one sad thing equals depression!" Though the implications of the poem are extremely dark 2-I really like the episode and its a good topic 1-Havent seen it in a while, but just kinda another "Ginger is amazing!" episode it feels One of my favorites is "No Hope for Courtney"

I really hated the Hope Rogers episode. It sucked seeing Courtney completely abandoned and ostracized, especially by Miranda, her best friend 😤
I like her too because of it. Instead of mocking or looking down on Ginger, she wants to be like her and is interested in her life lol!
Lois is still one of the best tv moms everrrr
*No Hope For Courtney* is such an underrated episode, two great storylines with a LOT of meaning, especially the sad life lesson that Carl gets in the end.
It's a great episode showing how much of a good person Carl (and Hoodsey!) actually is.
He really matured in that one...
❤❤ *RIP Kathleen Freeman* ❤❤😢
I loved that the shy girl they gave a makeover melds with the popular-girls and stays there.
I find the ginger storyline very sub par and boring but the Carl storyline is great and the ending is so heartbreaking. Makes me kind of teary eyed to this day
I totally LOVE that episode!
As told by ginger, braceface, my life as a teenage robot, pepper Ann, Daria.... All young female protagonists In Cartoons I could relate to growing up in the 90s to early 2000s.
I fully believe the expression "You're never too old to be a child" plus has ANYONE ever heard about having an inner child?
I remember the wedding movie being shown about a year ago at a VERY early hour. I was SHOOK and I LOVED it.
Wish more people would talk about this cartoon :) so far you're the only channel I can find that does. I really Like this show and I think it deserves more attention.
Thank you for your feedback. Really appreciate it. Currently doing an As Told by Ginger weekly podcast for more love on this show.
I’m seeing more and more reviews lately probably because it’s almost the show’s 20th anniversary
@@OldSchoolLane I'm 7 years late but I'm loving these videos. I was a teen when the show was airing and loved it and still watch it often!
I forgot how heavy the subject matter got for this show. Loved this show.
productplacementads 24/7 Thanks. We're currently doing a weekly As Told by Ginger podcast if you're interested in checking it out.
one of my favorite plots was when carl DIDNT want his parents to get back together because he loved dr dave more than jonah.
I never related to Carl and his stories... I'm low key thankful for that lol...
This show and Daria were the two slice-of-life shows that really resonated with me when I was in middle school between 2000 and 2003.
As told by ginger and Daria are pretty similar shows at least to me
I def feel the similarities
and braceface
Besides she is a teen, the part in your life where you most desperately want to "fit in" and be "cool"
My all time favorite quote from her is "Ginger, they can't make me feel bad about it because I don't feel bad about it."
That alone inspires me to have a positive point of view about life 😁
🙂 Rewatching these as an adult, Lois and Macie are my absolute favorite characters. Both are blunt and hilarious 😂
I didn’t like the episode where Lois didn’t allow Ginger t shave I mean body image is a huge thing but especially at that age
It's one of my childhood shows all the way
I predicted that "And She Was Gone", "Hello Stranger", and "Butterflies Are Free", would be the top three episodes! I don't blame you; it's the same as on my list, too! Although, I'd put "Hello Stranger" over "Butterflies Are Free", because its main plot was something that I personally find to be more relatable and touching.
Anyway, great list, Patricia!
Thanks. Really appreciate it.
As Told by Ginger is my favorite childhood show
Andria B Awesome!
Sometimes I think that Macie may have Asperger's/Autism
Thank You So Much!! Never thought I would see someone with the same appreciation for this show as me!! 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
+Antoni Garcia Thanks a lot. I've seen those videos. You did a wonderful job on them. Great work.
Yo, the Mocoloco Caffeinator sounds analogous to Adderall. That's kinda nuts for a kids show.
I've been in an as told by ginger kick. I still watch our old shows. Nothing compares love them I'm currently looking for the complete series.
If you're interested, this was part of a month's worth of videos about As Told by Ginger if you want to check it out. th-cam.com/play/PLXziGc54_DgnPpwnRpmIISF6gb49BYh_7.html
ohhh thanks! ill definitely be sure to check them out!
It’s 2018 and you’ve convinced me to watch As Told By Ginger
Good job, I appreciate the edit and the thorough review. This is the kind of content that makes TH-cam still tolerable.
Oh, my gosh!! Decker Shado and Long Haired Creepy Guy! Love that they got linked (even if Creepy isn't posting here anymore)
The poem episode made me want to be a writer, which is awesome.
Ginger's mom Lois is my favorite mom in any cartoon period.
I love that guy’s speech. It really reached me. I love video games, I also love reading all types of books. I’m getting a Master’s Degree in Public Health.
This video was amazingly done and down to earth
Bernie Katzroy Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it.
Old School Lane no probs, any chance you could do one on braceface it was a great underrated show kinda of like atbg
Bernie Katzroy I've never seen Braceface and I've gotten a ton of requests for me to compare Braceface to As Told by Ginger. I will someday.
Old School Lane cant wait
I loved this series so much . My children were young then, they did not watch much but I was the one who could not miss it. Love you Ginger.❤❤❤
This was one of my FAVORITE shows when I was in high school!!!!
I watched this show since the beginning , and I used to record it on the V.C.R all the time :3
I think if you read between the lines, A Lesson on Tightropes is about a lot more than just Ginger's appendicitis.
As told by ginger and Daria I find very similar
They don’t really have much in common besides female leads
I totally agree with the #3 choice I suffer depression occasionally and I can relate to her friends and how they feel about her! Also the segments do look amazing! Plus was I the only one who was crying a little throughout those segments?
I still watch children shows i have stuff animals and my family ask I’m a regressing but these things make me happy
I never agreed with people that the character were "ugly"
I always liked it. Kinda like in "Hey Arnold" or "Rugrats", the characters look distinguishable
I’d have to say a lesson in tightropes is my all-time favorite I still cry to this day.
:') lol
My mom told me only hookers shave above the knee and then the next day after school i saw that episode.
Man I forgot that I use to love this show
This show is a hit on nreboot im finally getting into it myself
Here's the thing: the issue is not the concept of growing up, its the concept what is considered to be growing up and what isn't. There are plenty of people with different hobbies and interests who dont do the things that theyre actually supposed to be doing. You can be a pokemon fan and have a stable full time job, a family, and pay your bills on time. You can also be a fan of the "Vanderpump Rules" and be a useless non functional memeber of society.
For some reason, some hobbies are associated with useless dumbasses and others arent. I get why but it still doesnt make much sense
Great video, but i have "A Lesson in Tightropes" in my top 5.
Michael Jackson SAME
Michael Jackson love that episode even though I can’t help but cry, poor Ginger and Zorski 2.0 is a Dirtbag for treating Ginger that way
Same here
This was an AWESOME REVIEW of an AWESOME SHOW! man...to see all these years go by..if it werent for the heartfelt speeches of growing up, I would feel super down that I've gotten so old lol
Thanks. I’ve went more in depth about As Told by Ginger in my other videos and podcasts. Check out the As Told by Ginger Month and We’re in Between playlists.
I love the episode 'She was Gone'. Not only because of Gingers story, but the fact that Carl fell in love with Noel, someone weirder than him.
OK WHERE CAN I WATCH THIS AMAZING SHOW?! NETFLIX?!
Jim Kinsman I’ve only found it online on dailymotion.com
Jim Kinsman
i know some sites sell dvd’s of the show now, but i saw that around a couple weeks ago so i don’t exactly remember which sites.
Watched app in the AppStore, type in the URL HuHu.to and search as told by ginger
Fantastic list :D best 35 mins ever
+SaturnSkyeJohnson Thanks a lot. Glad you liked it.
+Old School Lane :)
Beautiful video on a beautiful show. Great job on this.
Bernadette Hanken you know this is Nickelodeon right?
Growing ups not the problem forgetting it is
One of my fav episodes weirdly is the episode where she wants to begin shaving her legs and her moms not having that 😂😂
That's one of the episodes I still remember from this show (although vaguely).
It broke my heart to see that. Poor Carl.
So far, I'm a minute into this list, and I want to thank you for sharing my opinion on "A Lesson in Tightropes"! It's #15 on my list, too, for the same reason as yours.
+NoParking Berry You're very welcome. Thanks for watching.
i wish i knew you. we would be able to discuss cartoons extensively.
when i was 14, i went back and compelted Hey Arnold, Rugrats (lets be honest, after season 3 it was less mature and more childish. )
Amazing review of these great episodes.
I remember watching this show and just not appreciating it but watching your video makes me rethink it and want to watch it again
That’s great. You can watch it alongside the podcast my friends and I did a few years ago. th-cam.com/play/PLXziGc54_DgmHtVoHhm1fNQpnt7fKFvvU.html
1:53 where effing everybody cried
In the wedding frame epilogue, it would be cool to see Courtney and Jonas appearing at Ginger’s reading
That song from the appendicitis episode pops into my head every 2 weeks
I seriously love all of your videos! Do you ever plan on doing videos for Avatar The Last Airbender? I know it's not as old, but it has a huge fan base & has a lot of amazing episodes & storylines.
I will in the future. Just need to wait for the right moment.
conservative here, it absolutely pisses me off when people hate on others for enjoying childish things. i'm gonna watch TAWOG until the end of time, thank you very much
Hello one of your videos was in my recommendations a few days ago and ive been watching a bunch of your other videos since. I really enjoy them and i think you do a great job! Keep up the good work🙂
Thank you so much. That means a lot to me. 🙂
@@OldSchoolLane You're welcome❤ i also subscribed
22:43 It was also broadcasted in Latin America, dubbed in Spanish
15-I kinda don't like that episode- i feel its a bit TOO dramatic and they just turned Darren (especially Simone) into a huge douchebag, when Darren cared about Ginger to the moon and back. But I do love how they focus on Carl in the episode and give his view
14-I dont remember a lot about that episode, and forgot all about Carl's subplot.. who was the daughter he hurt? or do they mean Noelle?
13- This is a really good Macie episode. I love episodes that actually shine on her or show the friendship she and Ginger have rather than show how much of a terrible friend Dodie is. also a really good Hoodsie episode and shows Carl being a supportive friend
12-I dont think I watched this- pretty much because i dont like the idea that Miranda pretty much set Ginger up and was pretty much the worst thing you can do to a person (until later on in the series). But now that I see it on here, the rivalry of Carl and Blake makes sense
11-One of my favorites- though its pretty harsh for Ginger to imply Courtney gets punishment when Mipsy and Miranda should have gotten it- Courtney was essentially innocent
10-"You've flipped your lid, Carl!!! You lost it and it can't be found!"
9-I really don't like "Ginger is amazing!!" Episodes- and the backstabbing episodes just increased way too much
8-Amazing episode-for once Ginger is in the wrong and actually told to back off
7-It was kinda sudden/dark how it happened (i think it was implied heart attack), but one of the only good Dodie episodes
6-Amazing episode, Lois is best mom
5-I adore this episode, Macie comes out on top, and courtney does get taken down a peg (love courtney, but expecting to win just because of who she is is kinda wrong)
4-My favorite (even if the twist should have been revealed in the end for the audience) and the ending is great
3-A very dark episode, but very well made. Kinda dont like the "You always write happy so the one sad thing equals depression!" Though the implications of the poem are extremely dark
2-I really like the episode and its a good topic
1-Havent seen it in a while, but just kinda another "Ginger is amazing!" episode it feels
One of my favorites is "No Hope for Courtney"
I cried so hard with A Lesson in Tightropes. You would’ve thought I got dumped by Darren
I miss this show 😊
Tune into The Splat tomorrow and Sunday night. They will air the 4 unaired As Told by Ginger episodes from Season 3.
+Old School Lane 😃
I wish there was a dvd box set of this show. I have yet to find one online anywhere

It's okay to let your inner child to the surface from time to time.
I feel like they should have done a Carl spinoff after the main show had ended. I loved how much growth he had near the end of the series
I miss this show!!
I can definitely relate to number 14
And we all know Dodie needs change and growth lol
Where can I watch the whole series ?
The episode about Ginger and Liza needing their appendix taken out, really had me prepared to have mine removed. Lol.
I Watch Thomas The Tank Engine And I'm Told By People To Stop Liking That Show, But It's The First Show I Grew Up With And I Still Love It Forever!!!
Man I need to rewatch the series
Wonderful. Thank you.
What do you think of the episode Wicked Game?
