I feel this in my soul. I have saved and worked so hard and all of a sudden people are like "nah we will waive the inspection and buy it without even seeing pictures! also, take $50,000 above what you're asking!" i hate it here.
Same, saved for years working shift work and getting things ready for the future and it all lead up to this mess.. unbelievable!

I feel you. I’ve been looking since last year and really got back into actually trying to take action this year. I was originally looking for a certain kind of duplex, but even when cheaper single family houses were popping up, I knew they’d go for way more and if they don’t appraise that can be a headache. I live in a state where property taxes are half of principal and interest or more, making payments super expensive. I have found some little niches, though. It seems estate sale homes are easier to nab and stay on the market longer in some places as well. That’s what I finally ended up getting an offer accepted on, a little ranch. I almost skipped over it because it looked super close to another house in the photos, but in real life it’s not bad. I am so happy, it was taken care of but needs updating. It’s super small square footage wise but I don’t even care. I have seems more and more price drops, and have been sitting, as well. Stick with it! You will get something!!

We were in the same dilemma that you guys are in now back in 2006. Housing market had peaked. We could either rent an apartment for $1200 a month or buy something. Bought a Condo for $100,000. It was steep for what it was but we figured in any case it would be a great investment. Market crashed shortly after and by 2012 we had to short sell it for $17,000 to some lucky lady. What a fiasco.

Oh my gosh this is so true, we got out bid so many times, this is not even funny. We offer full price, closing costs, don’t need to fix anything, we will even help you move deal and still didn’t get the house.

OMG it’s like pay $2k a month in rent for an apartment that isn’t run down or lock down a mortgage for a $400k a condo that would normally go for $200k. I guess housing market fluctuates but what is happening with the rent is borderline price gouging.
Prices are going up because the government/federal reserve is printing so much money. Blame the correct people
@@AndrewD624 You are right but the groups that own sections of property in my city are jacking up rent because people are moving back. ALSO I know this is hopeful of me but I’m not going to spend my time worrying about inflation because the fed reserve is not worried yet. Fingers crossed it’s temporary like they say LOL.
This is just 08 all over again. I remember watching the first housing bubble when I was 6-9 and seeing all the new construction then all the foreclosures on the news. I think we are heading somewhere similar

The house next door to me was on the market for just a little under a week before selling for 700 Grand. Almost all of the fixtures are still original from when the house was built in 1996.

Lol. I just bought my house 2 months ago and ow a neighbors house is up on the market for $110,000 more than we paid for ours. Slightly smaller than mine and on a slightly busier street so who knows how much mine would sell for now. It’s insane.

Commissioned a house to be built right before the pandemic. It was already too high for my opinion, for the city we moved to. However because it’s a hot city right now the price has increased over 100% in the year and half since we bought the house. These are advertised as luxury but because it’s a sub division they did a crappy job but for marked up prices.
