You have been the one that has worked closely with your dad and have learned and continue to learn more about the technical parts of sailing and fixing things on the boat. Storytelling is on point, the long version makes it better! Didn't realize but sailing is pretty similar to climbing with the ropes manipulation n stuff. Question I've been wondering with your videos : do you have a flag for each country/marina you embark in ? is it a sailing rule to have a flag onboard in each territory ? or no rule at all ? :)
Love your content, Captain, very enlightening 🫡

LOVED that you EXPLAINED ... "DOWN WIND" I have been watching 5 different sailing channels for 5 years and NO ONE has ever done this. You could maybe increase your following by covering super basic sailing concepts and very obvious (to you ... the pros) but not at all obvious to the rest your audience. Especially, if you have a younger audience. Less of them will own boats (just a financial reality of demographics) older you are, more wealth accumulated = more boat owners. Thanks again.

Some notes; Jack is one of the most interesting characters on the tube. Clearly, he has the respect and admiration of the rest of the crew. Great family dynamic: every one works together. Jack let me simply say that from my condominium in the high desert of Las Vegas, you and all of your families videos are the best thing available by far for entertainment. Above anything else on all of TH-cam or cable TV. It is fantastic to watch you grow and it is fantastic your ability to teach us the viewers exactly what you're doing on Zatara. Don't worry about what you're going to do in the future too much… I've been asking myself that question for many years and I haven't yet decided but keep in mind I'm 65 years old and I have loved my life so far lol. Jack, you have not only a passion for the sea, but also the brains. You absorb knowledge on it like a sponge and then apply it. Have you ever been shown how to use paper charts along with sextant, chronometer & compass for navigation if and when every bit of electronics fails on a vessel? No computer. No communications. No nothing! If you're thinking of a career as a mariner, this is one of the major things that would grab serious attention on any resume. In the meantime...wonderful video covering life on Zatara. God grant you safe passage.
"Sail on! Sail on!" Jack (never give up hope...just sail on!) From a terrific poem called 'Columbus' by Joaquin Miller. I think you'd enjoy it. Easy to find in a Google search. It was my dad's favorite motto in life...sail on! My dad's ship was attacked and sunk in WWll. He and his crew spent 3yrs 9mos in a Japanese POW camp. He and most of his men made it through alive and returned to the U.S. So Jack...NEVER give up hope.....just sail on.💙💦⛵

Great video. And Jac, as an older Texan I will tell you, don’t rush it. It’s a good time to be where you are. You are becoming a great blogger and sailor so just stay at it and study as you go.

Videos are getting so much better. I enjoyed the give and take with your Dad. First he pointed out that you made a mistake, then you questioned what he was saying. Nothing rude by either of you, just respect but keeping each other on your toes. Hope you stay on Zatara. Keep up the great video work.

Jack I'm 72 been watching since you got started. It's amazing to see how you all have grown up. Nice family. How often do you have blow our fights? We never see that, and I bet you all a few disagreements.

Love your family’s adventure. If you’re thinking about it, you or Finn should do a cover of Jamie Cullom’s “All at Sea.” I think it kind of fits.

    Really good video Jack!
This was so informative, and I think many of us learned a lot.
And it was nice that you had such long sequences which makes us, the viewers, feel more comfortable, calm, and a we feel more of a part of you guys and what you are doing.
The constantly quick shifting sequences here and there that so many filmmakers use today is only stressfull and not harmonious what so ever.
So I personally would say I liked this a lot better.

Jack I'm Aldo a retired Navy Photographers Mate from the 70s. I was a photographer for Apollo 16 and 17 recoveries in 1972. I also shoot with Sony like the A7r and A7riv and love Sony. I used Canon for most of my career. You are much better than me, and I'm not kidding. I'm still photo camera guy type. You're a video guy, and dam good at it, I must say. Keep up the good work, young man. Your mom and dad are great parents.

Jack, keep being you! Stay on the boat as long as you can. You are still so young and have so much life to live. Soak up as much knowledge from your parents and enjoy the time together. You might not understand that now but when you grow old you will appreciate everything. Safe travels!!

Another great video Jack. I really like that you include some of the technical aspects of sailing in your videos. Also, the nearly 18 minute length is a real treat. I know you don't post on TikTok much anymore, but it might not hurt to post a little teaser over there whenever you post a new video on TH-cam. That might bring over some of those 1/2 million + followers to your TH-cam channel. Safe travels!
