What I liked: I liked how cat Noir wasn't flirting with ladybug every minute. I also liked how Marinette wasn't really being a stalker.
I definitely liked when hawkmoth made an actual good plan
I loved the adrientte moments
And I was happy when they put the substitute love interests on there

Wow, yeah I didn't even realize that this special addressed almost all fan complaints. The only one remainng would be Chloe, but I honestly think that the reason why she was so sidelined is because they're planning something big for her and the movie didn't have time to address it. Season 4 is looking more and more promising!
4:15 to be fair Ladybug and Cat Noir act different compared to their civilian identity while Nino basically acted the same way he normally does even as Carapace
I really think is because if the fact that Adrien feels free and has a sense of happiness when he's chat noir and Marinette forgets her insecurities when she's ladybug
They act like they'll like to act as civilians anytime they ladybug and chat noir
The producers said "what happends in New York stays in New York"- Does that mean adrien will just "forget" about all those romantic scenes with marinet or he wont talk about it but start to see marinete in a diferent way? ( If he acts like nothing happened im gonna be so mad)

If they do that he'll look Moore alike a player and cheater. They already borderline cheated on there lovers. He's getting emotionally involved now with Mari cause it's dry with KagaMi now.

If I had to guess I think that means that Adrien won't mention that they had "A Moment" *when dancing* and perhaps Ladybug will not harass Cat Noir to much about her loss of trust as on some level she know going on about it will only harm their partnership even further likewise she won't mention that she pretty flat out told him she "needs him" like twice. But I also think they will continue to have Marinette stalk him for the time being but will occasionally be able to convince herself he's "Just a friend" to have short conversations and likely Alya will sabotage those while thinking she'd helping as so long as Ladybug is giving him mix signals - even if he thinks she loves someone else he'd still refuse a confession from Marinette and so ruin their dysfuctional friendship.
The reason I think they will pretend this all never happened - is - that they've done that already multiple times.
They pretend Cat Blanc never happened
They pretend Time Breaker never happened
They never mention than she almost quit and screwed up in her 1st week as Ladybug.
They (only mentioned Dark Cupid once in Prime Queen and otherwise ignored it)
They rarely mention the oblique love declaration for someone else aside from the occasional vague mention in multi-parters.
Marinette didn't act like Puppeteer 2 affected her, and didn't seem to give two hoots that Adrien said he was in love with someone else - she just decided and Alya & Nino just decided to make choices for him without consulting him.
Though if he keeps looking at her like he does no wonder they think he's interested in some sense.
There isn't much continuity in this show, Chloe being sad for example can be taken as her not wanting to go on the trip, or her being sad about Miracle Queen it doesn't require you to care what happened in Season 3.
But I do wonder if they also shot themselves in the foot a bit with Cat Noir leaving town and her leaving town with no really reason to ever do so without suitable plans. & Marinette is going to do it again in the Shanghai special, so yeah she's going to abandon her duty twice on the trot without proper planning. I bet they do something stupid like say the Space Powers are nonsense fast and use that as an excuse. Even though the senti-monster attack was over in 7 minutes and they'd never have made it back in time as they'd have had to meet up and get back there via teleportation, and it's just not practical and if it was via space powers then The baddies can pull the powers from the Butterfly or feather and all their terrorist actions will stay as they are - they can then wait a bit and do it again and the Damage will always stay (and deaths too). Putting a lot of pressure on Ladybug & likely making people flee Paris too.
So they don't want that to happen so they will pretend it never happened and hope we don't notice.
Oh and another lore change we got was that Power ups are easy to make and can be stored n their costumes indefinitely & are eaten by the hero not the kwami so no power up animation and no transformation drop and retransform - that is a big change to the lore.

The best thing that I liked about the special is that ,
Adrien finally realised how much great and loving friend Marinette is .
And secondly Ladybug understood that she is nothing without her cat noir .
And the romantic seens perfectly matches them too .

Actually If you have Thomas Astruc on Twitter he stated that in the initial script Mr Damocles and Ms Mendeleev had a story arc for the New York special but sadly that was cut because the episode came back too long. Tbh I think this was better idk about y’all but I don’t actually care about Mr Damocles and Ms Mendeleev🤣🤣🤣
Same, I think they're trying to give too much character to characters who don't need it (such as Mr Damocles and Ms Mendeleev having their own akumatized episodes)

I loved the special, but there were some flaws that need to be addressed. The adrienette and lady noir was handled brilliantly, and showed lots of development that wasn’t there before.
However, I agree on the fact that it didn’t ‘fit it’ with the ending of season 3. I feel like the changed it since a large part of the fandom didn’t like it, but who knows? Maybe it’s just set a little while after it, or maybe it does fit?
As with the ‘Ladybug getting mad at Chat’ thing, I think it was justified, but not at that moment, y’know? I get that they are both teenagers, and both can be very ‘act first then think’, but if she were to scold him she should have done it after they defeated the villain (I think it parallels with the times when Chat has been cold to her, even though it is very different reasons).
The reason they ‘failed’ first time, was because Ladybug said she was disappointed in Chat. This angered me at first, but then I realised the cleverness of the writing... Adrien is afraid of disappointment, and of abandonment. He does everything his father asks of him, since he’s afraid his father will leave him like his mother did. He’s afraid to disappoint Ladybug, in case she leaves him too. That’s why he didn’t tell her, since he didn’t want to be a failure.
And with the Paris thing, I thought it was an interesting dynamic to introduce (the fact that they can fail sometimes). Paris is extremely dependent on Ladybug and Chat, even to the point that their forces do nothing to help, but ridicule them when they make a mistake. I don’t want innocent people to die, but I want people to realise that they need to not be so dependent on ladybug and chat saving the day all the time.
However, Ladybug has a right to be upset. I understand this, as she literally has the weight of the world on her shoulders. She is only human, and will fail sometimes, and I’m glad the show shows this.
The best things were the romance, and the development, but it lacked structure, in my opinion.
they would of defeated techno pirate A WHILE AGO and could of went back to save paris. The reason they didn't defeat and capture him was because of uncanny being cataclysm because of cat noir because of ladybug breaking him mid battle. I get she was mad but she should of waited till after the battle with techno pirate so they could go to paris and save them. As for the paris thing it would be cool if they would of went against a villain like zombiboo where the villain doesn't destroy stuff but has other abilities and be able to defend themself till ladybug and cat noir come back.
It fit perfectly fine with the ending of season 3. Luka and Marinette never started dating, anyone who believed that simply misunderstood. Kagami and Adrien's relationship is presented as a bit more complicated in this special just as it was in the season 3 finale. Adrien isn't fully committed to a relationship with Kagami but he won't flat out reject her either as he does like her, he's trying to move on from Ladybug, and he's just confused about how he feels about Kagami.
Also it wouldn't make sense to try and take things in a different direction based on fans' response. Season 4 was already fully written before the season 3 finale aired. They are finishing up Season 5 currently.

@@fieryicymilkman6098 There was a lot of development and I'm glad you thought Cat Noir was treated well. I've still seen people complaining he was downplayed. Personally I don't know if I buy that those things are the result of listening to fans complaints but if they are then great. I just see it as time for those developments to occur. In this special I can clearly see the build off from Miracle Queen. And some moments even remind me of things that I believe were being foreshadowed in Stormy Weather 2. So I don't know. I'm not seeing the disconnect of "fans don't like what we are doing, let's change it" Cat Noir's fight in Miracle Queen showed him being able to figure out how to defeat the villian and he took it seriously. I was hoping this was a sign of what's to come from him. Taking more responsibility and treating his role a bit more seriously. The development in him we got from the New York special fits with that. Even the episode that every Cat Noir fan (well.. just about) hates, Reflekdoll I took as challenging Cat Noir's typical unserious and carefree attitude.
@@kabsageigj8941 They definitely improve so many areas in the show during this special which makes me think s4 is going to be amazing since this special was probably better than s1-3 and a lot of things changed. Cat noir and ladybug got the same treatment and he's now accepting getting rejected by ladybug. Marinette's obsession got toned down (only a little but still). Side characters are getting development to such as sebrena (I don't like her but at least it's something) and hawk moths actually planning things out (even though they should of made him use the eagles talon on himself or keep it). Only a few things were bad about the special but these are probably just personal things. knight owl being a girl killed the character for me. Not that I hate superheros being a girl or anything it's just that I was digging his voice and stuff but then I got shocked. The adult superheros didn't get any development and basically stayed the same and a lot of them weren't even introduced when some of them looked cool like the 3 ant characters. Chloe wasn't shown enough especially considering she was about to take over paris in the s3 finale and only had like 4 lines. This special was overall good and hopefully season 4 is better with stuff like a adrian centered episode to tell us about emily and what she was like. Also waiting to see what Queen Banana will be like :D

I love how Cat Noir started to act like a friend towards Ladybug (instead of him trying to keep on ‘winning’ her over), and how Adrien started to see Marinette more than a friend!

The whole plot surrounds them not knowing their identity and I think they'll keep it that way to keep themselves safe

What if Adrien runs out of power-up cheese and needs more? He can't just make any, only Mari can.
@@jewelminess I think he was given the vials of the liquid and just steeps a wheel of cheese in each flavour so he likely has enough for a few Transformation if there is enough in each vial for 1 wheel of cheese and 8 or more slices in each wheel. Marinette likely has to bake a lot more macaroons though and unless her yo yo keeps them fresh has to make them more often too. But yeah he's not really supposed to have the means to make his own he'd rely on her to make more of the potions.
As for the identity thing - all she has to do is ask and he'd tell her, as he's completely whipped like that. it doesn't even matter if she's the guardian or not.
I - I was waiting for you to address "Gorilla's" fear of flying even if it was just for the humor . . . and it never came . . .
Gorilla didn't go home on the plane with Adrien for the sake of plot convenience it seems. If that was Gabriel's plane then did he fly commercial to get home or send the plane back and come home later on .. or perhaps even fly immediately to Shanghai ?
Speaking of Transport - I was amused that Hawkmoth was using a Tsurugi self driving car, like the one Kagami travels it.
The uncanny valley/catalysm moment is one that really needed to happen.
Yeah, Reflekdoll showed that Ladybugs powers are harder to use, but Chat Noir’s potentially has more consequences. If he is not care, he could actually kill someone, and as shown by Fu loosing his memory that the cure can’t always fix everything. It’s more of that equality and balance that the ladybug and cat are meant to be. Her powers are harder but nicer but his are simpler but ‘darker’
I think that moment showed him, this time in a clear mind instead of being brainwashed, that he is dangerous and can easily kill someone and that’s a lot of a teenager.
I loved this special so much. It almost made me cry. No, it wasn't perfect, but it was still an amazing episode.

I feel like it wasn't either of their faults. Adrian dad literally told him he was going last minute so he had no time to go and transform. He was on a field trip so it's not like in paris where he could just ditch the class with a valid excuse and have time to transform and text ladybug. We also know that him and ladybug don't receive text unless their in their superhero form and even if cat noir could of used the signal thing what if marinette just look at her phone to see if there was an akuma attack but their wasn't she would of thought cat noir was playing around and wasn't serious. WHILE ladybug got way too mad and should of just focused on the villain at hand so that they could go to paris as fast as possible instead of breaking cat noir's heart mid battle and causing problems. She should of knew cat noir had a good excuse and let him finish. Last time she went on a trip master fu gave her the horse miraculous to go back to paris in case of a akuma attack and said she should be able to have fun. Why couldn't she do that now? Especially since she's the guardian she doesn't even have to go to fu for it. She should of had a backup plan incase things went wrong. Even if cat noir would of stayed in paris it would still be damaged. She's the only one who can purify akumas (cat noir can cataclysm it but what if he has to use it for something else) and repair everything. She should of knew that cat noir can't defend paris alone and that she needed to be their in some way. Hawk moth probably released the sentimonster so that cat noir and ladybug would be distracted with it instead of fighting him in new york but saw that they weren't there and thought it was pointless for it to keep going. I feel like it could of been prevented and that it was just unfortunate circumstances. The only thing that was good about this is that we know that ladybug really doesn't need to fix everything unless the eiffel tower falls down or something so we can have marinette/ladybug akumatized or be away and have cat noir defeat villains ALONE :D

@@fieryicymilkman6098 Yeah, the story tries to make you believe he could have told ladybug about him leaving, but in reality he really had no time. And also, he did tell ladybug it was a last minute thing.
@@jamesdaly7440 He had time, even if he had to tell her on the trip or when he reached New York. It would've been more complicated sure but if he pushes the button, alerting her then he knows she'll transform into Ladybug. And in that case they could communicate with each other via text or call. She was most angry at him because he didn't tell her about a change in plans. So had he made an effort to get in touch with her, although this would have complicated things for both of them she wouldn't have gotten so angry at him.

Maybe after getting close to Kagami, Adrien became more comfortable with 'romance' and 'socializing' cuz I personally see Kagami and Adrien dating only as a cure to Adrien whilst to Kagami it's actual love

well according to Thomas Astruc himself. They had 2 hours of content and most of Chloe's scenes were cut from the final tv movie to get it down to 62 minutes. But hey can't wait for Miraculous World: Shanghi to air around Christmas. At least with season 4 being delayed due to covid we get to see the specials set between seasons 3 and 4.

I loved that it had a lot of elements from different things I like. I am a fan of both Anairis Quinones, Alejandro Saab, and Hamilton. I was super excited about them referencing the American Revolution. There was even a cute comic on Instagram about Daveed Digs's Lafayette and Liri the freedom kwami.
Something pointed out to me was Marinette's maturing physically, or like, better animation? As in, Cristina Vee deepening the high-pitched voice and Marinette's hair being darker and not bright blue anymore. Though, character development is always nice and hopefully happens this season.
I hope they keep in contact with the heroes and friends they made in New York! I really liked the potential in the New York Heroes, and hope they get brought up again. Also, if this means there are many heroes, that more goes into the extended hero-verse of Miraculous! Also, I just love Aeon's character.
I hope Sabrina keeps in contact with the American guy, even as just friends. I like that he was able to get through to her about being her own person. I know Marinette tried, but this new character was actually able to do it. I hope that continues in its own right and we see Sabrina mature into her own person.
I know the Mrs Mendeleev arc didn't go anywhere, so my hope is that it continues into the season? Like, an arc that wasn't meant to be finished in this episode but continues on.
It's how SAMG have always coloured Ladybug hair (see season one) the other studios colour it more blue.
I couldn't say if the timing issues will mean the deeper voices will stick but I've got multiple copies of the same episodes and some are deep like this and some are squeekier. it's supposed to be a side effect of a PAL show being retimed poorly to NTSC format.
I think the reason Sabrina got a fella was more about Chloe than Sabrina they want to further isolate Chloe and torture her a bit more.
5:40 Actually I wonder if Lila Would Hate Ladybug even More and Call her out for her leaving Paris Abandoned because of that...😏 Heck it would be Cool to see Some people Now Looking at Ladybug and Cat noir and Being like : 😕🤨
That should be used as ammo to take shots at lady bug morality and ego next season and Hawk moth can use that to stir the pot even more.
I'm interested to know what they intend to do with the American Miraculous Box. The bonus end scene clearly implies the creation of a new junior superhero team with Eagle and Uncanny as the main pair, but are they going to mention that in the main show, spin off?

Edit: Adrien leaving NY meant she'd need to wait a week before she could see him again. Chat Noir surrendering his miraculous meant she'd never see him again, and she'd also never be able to find him since she doesn't know his identity. Losing someone for a week is significantly less worse than losing someone forever.
They got stuck in a door and both sides of the door kept hitting them simultaneously.
Literally the funniest part of the movie.
Followed by Marinette falling off her bike.
Repetitive failure is definitely funny at times like these.
I absolutely LOVED the special and I was so happy about it.
The only critiques (if you want to call them that) are that I thought there would be more with Chloe. I do love how Sabrina had more character growth aswell. I don't know about you guys, but I thought there would be more with Alya, Mari, Chloe, and Sabrina being roomates on the trip.
I also agree on the whole ending of season 3 and the transition into the NY special. I feel like there was no increasing growth between the two it just kind of went from Adrien completely seeing Mari as just a friend and with Kagami to Adrien and Mari obviously (even if they dont want to admit it) seeing each other as more than friends. I was a little confused on that because I did think season 3 ended with Lukanette and Adrigami and it wasn't a smooth transition but I did still really like the Adrienette moments and such.
The other thing I wanted to mention was that I feel like we didn't really get to see much with Majestia and Knight Owl, and I was expecting something bigger with maybe the villain or something and Mrs. Mandelaiv. Again, this is my may opinion and honestly, I thought that the special was very well put together and was AMAZING.
I really loved Chats and LB's character growth and same with Adrienette and the american heroes.
They did a great job with the whole storyline and I was just so happy and enjoyed the special sooo much.

Alya figured out Nino was Carapace because of the way he talked. I also liked the explanation because it explains why no one can figure out their identities even though its so obvious. I think Mrs.Bustiee (I know I spelled her name wrong) will be an amazing mom. I really liked the girl superheros being dressed up as boys and it took me a while to figure it out, they were really good at hiding the fact they weren't the original team and were girls (That part didn't matter but it went with the original team being boy and they are girls). They could have showed Chloe being hated more than ever after stealing the miraculeses, and I get they could use a power up to fly but why couldn't they have taken the horse miraculous with them(Max doesn't have it permanently like Ladybug and Catnoir). I liked Adrien temporarily quitting and seeing Ladybugs reaction to thinking they won't work together again. And overall ADRIANETTE/LADYNOIR FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Only Hawkmoth, Mayura, Snake Noir & Dragon Bug know Chloe stole the Miracle Box, unless Marinette is so cruel as to go in front of a press camera and accuse her of "co-operating with a terrorist" which she didn't do for Lila - so she's not likely to do to Chloe. Everyone else in Paris was under the venom spell and so didn't see a thing - so the two villains know who the part time heroes are - the rest of Paris doesn't unless Hawkmoth decides to leak it to the press. & anyway she can claim she was akumatised and so isn't held accountable anyway.
& yes she could have easily have taken the Horse Miraculous with her to New York and gotten back to Paris instantly. No need to fly. To be fair she was in a middle of a fight and couldn't just leave Uncanny Valley and Sparrow alone, and Robustus 2 was only active for 7 minutes before the powers were pulled. Not that she was really thinking straight at the time anyway as she was to busy arguing to do her job properly. She'd likely have had to detransform fed Tikki and re-transform to fight Robustus 2 anyway - and even then if the feather powers had pulled before she could "reset" she'd still not be able to cast her cure (according to the New York special alone) according to the 3 previous seasons - she likely could have cast it anyway.
They have avoided saying if the cure works on the mundane though - such as run away busses, Escaped zoo animals, crashed helicopter and the like. So perhaps they always thought it wouldn't - slight problem with that - it renders historical Ladybug's powers kinda nonsensical if it doesn't work on the mundane too. Which might be a problem - especially as past holders are going to show up in some form so I hear. I guess the cure works on demons and such - but what about Aliens ? (yes Aliens Bunnyx specifically mentions Aliens)
I think that another reason people have a hard time figuring out who the superheroes are is probably because of the total personality shift of marinette and adrien when they transform. This obviously only applies to people close to them who actually know them irl but I don’t think a random person who has never even met marinette would be able to figure it out. Like you said, Alya was able to figure out that Nino was Carapace really quickly, but I believe that this is because she is extremely close to him, is portrayed to be good at that kind of thing, the timing matched up, and he acted exactly like Nino (calling people “dude” like every 5 seconds lol). Marinette completely dials her personality to level 100 when she’s ladybug, and adrien as chat noir is a lot more free and wild, kind of like an outlet to express himself bc he can’t as the perfect supermodel his dad forces him to be. As for “Oh but they literally look the same,” sometimes people’s appearance does change with using a miraculous. Marinette as Ladynoir has that one long braid, Marinette as Multimouse has space buns, Alya as Rena Rouge has cool ombré hair, Chloe as Queen Bee has that cool black streak. So who’s to say that they don’t completely change? It could be someone completely different looking under the mask, who knows? I think the issue with Mrs.Bustier and Ms. Mendiliev was placed there as just a set-up for season 4.
Could Alya figuring out Nino's secret identity be of love? With the way that Alya looked at Carapace in amazement and that spark in her eye, could she have fallen for Carapace like she does for Nino, and in doing so, her love was strong enough to break through the blinds that magic holds? Like the intro says "the power of love always so strong". Just a theory.

In case you haven't check Thomas Astruc's twitter account (creator of MLB) He stated that the special was supposed to be 2 hours long. And there was an arc about Chloe and the teacher, but it had to be cut short because of budget. I guess they couldn't fit it all perfectly for an hour episode.

(2) The last time he looked at the sunset he was looking at it with Marinette (3) He said the same thing both times "it's beautiful" and I think we can all agree he didn't hug Marinette then just because he likes the sky so much. ;-)

They did de-power in the sewer after running away from the adult heroes having both used their "powers" at that point - but I don't recall them calling attention to the beeping - at least not that I noticed so far - I'll try to remember to watch for that next time I see the episode.
I feel that as they've gotten more experienced, they've gotten more time before they change back.

I have a very positive opinion of this special. It has flaws sure but overall, really well done. The animation is incredible (so happy SAMG is animating Shanghai too!) I really like the progression we see from Adrien with the Adrienette ship and how Marinette is trying to see him as "just a friend" now, even if her way of doing that is very flawed and didn't work out for her too well. The Ladynoir in this episode was also beautiful. I like the yellow rose Cat Noir gave her in the beginning further symbolizing he is trying to get over her. Cat Noir/Adrien got good focus in this special which was really amazing to see. It was time for Cat Noir to have a break down like this, seeing him go through that and come back from it, I think really bodes well for what we could see in the future. It was nice to see Lukanette and Adrigami briefly so we could get a glimpse into what roles they are going to play later on. The young American heroes were very enjoyable characters. Not a fan of them scheming to get Adrien and Marinette in the same room and stuff but other than that I liked them. Sabrina getting a little mini development of her own was neat to see. It looks like she's slowly becoming more independent of Chloe and getting tired of being bossed around by her. Chloe didn't get much screen time which I personally don't mind as the special wasn't about her but from the little she has you can see how they are building off of the developments from the season 3 finale. She was very anti-social through the special and didn't even want to go to New York. Which brings up a very interesting point. Her parents actually forced her to go. Alya and Nino both got their fair share of time in this special which was nice to see even if I don't much care for "Operation New York" Liiri was cute and the Eagle power was pretty cool. It's disappointing we didn't get to see it used by the hero but for what we got it was great. The guardian asking for the Miraculous at the end was a good sign of what's to come. I think the weakest elements were the main adult heroes and the villian (as a character, I liked the doc ock inspired akuma). They were serviceable but could've been better. Except Doorman, for some reason I really liked him. XD

Your voices do get lower as you get older, especially guys. I’m pretty sure the voice actors don’t use strictly their voice when reading their lines so maybe they were told to not make their voices so high to show that the characters are getting older. Other than that I agree and maybe they had to do some recordings out of the studio so maybe it was harder for them.

Yes - Plagg constantly teases him about it in Season 3 especially. He's been calling Marinette "Adrien's Girlfriend" since Origins and that is why Adrien has his catchphrase of "She's Just a Friend" as Plagg keep poking him about it.

Good review, i lived the special too. The only 2 things i do not completely agree with is that: 1st, LB had the right to be angry but at the same time she was kinda stupid to tell his teammate “i can no longer trust you”, since that is both exaggerated and dangerous to tell to someone that has cataclysm activated and can potentially obliterate NewYork if he does not control it. 2nd Marinette was obviously more upset about Cat Noir because she would have seen Adrien again in 2 days, while she feared to never see CN again
I think Newyork special is started really where season 3 ends as relationships. At the end of season 3, you see that Marinette accepts that Kagami and Adrien might have a thing so she had to give up on Adrien. As someone who falls in love with another, things wont change that quickly. It takes times to progress things and move on from a relationship in real life. So i think Marinatte is just trying to move on from Adrien but she is still in love with him and same as Cat noir. He also tries to move on from Ladybug. About Luka and Kagami, they never kissed before sooo its a movement for their relationship even in this episode and Luka understands that Marinette needs some time after Adrien. So i think timeline is perfect and they will be like this in the season 4 , Marinette tries to move on, and cat tries to move on. At least some part of season 4 i m sure that we will see that.

If you look at the episode Anansi, she does give him a look when he refers to LB as “dude.” Alya has also shown to have figured out a lot more about LB, CN, and the Miraculous as a whole, and given that the universe established that this is not something easily found out, I think it’s easy to believe that she’s very smart and therefore able to work out who Carapace was

As someone catching up on the series after a long time away, and uncertain of exactly where the specials fit in the timeline, this one was really weird for me. Because it seems really clear that this one takes place between seasons 3 and 4, and I had assumed that Adrien and Kagami were dating by the end of season 3. Granted, Adrien was more passively letting it happen than anything else, but nonetheless, it was really weird seeing everyone giving Marinette such a hard time when she was seemingly doing exactly what she should have been doing in that situation. Her crush got a girlfriend. Why wouldn't she try to recenter her expectations to just being Adrien's friend, even if it meant exercising a bit of "fake it 'til you make it" attitude? I dunno. It just felt weird.
I was also a bit sad that we didn't get to see what had Gorilla so on edge about visiting New York. The animators literally have his face go green when he finds out about the trip. For a minute, it seems like he was just afraid of flying, but he kept listening to his special relaxation tapes even after they settled into the hotel. And given that season 5 all but stated he's from America, I kind of thought we were going to find out he had a wife and kids or something that he had to leave behind when Felix's dad sent him over to France in exchange for the use of the peacock miraculous.

Leah Amador yessss although I wouldn’t mind if the creators slipped in some more Adrien and Mari moments tbh😏however something that really pissed me off is how the creators took so long for there to be some sort of "relationship” or "growth” between Mari and adrien. Yea there’s some moments between them in seasons 1,2, and 3 but in this movie we saw so much more "romance” than in those 3 seasons combined so hopefully they develop Maris character into a not so shy girl anymore. I love her for that but after seeing her character like that for 3 seasons straight I want to see some type of actual growth. Same goes for Adrien. I’m Hoping he will get a little more freedom or at least be a little “outgoing” towards Mari and hopefully show her that he’s catching feelings.🙀

He said it was in the initial stages but drop them in the end. I think it should be because it’s twice as expensive to make a 2 hour movie as compared to 1. I know this has nothing to do with the video but I just wanna say that I ship Marichat more than any of their other ships. The reason why is because they're themselves when they're with each other. Like that one episode when they were hanging out alone at Marinette's because they got their hearts broken. And aghhhh I just ship them so much- I hope there are more marichat moments in the next season :)
#Marichat where Marinette isn't being a jerk is what we really need on this show - instead we get #Adrienette cringe like Puppeteer 2.. I'd rather they were cuddled up on a roof under a shared blanket watching the night sky on the bakery roof drinking Cocoa as Cat and designer than failing to communicate as heroes or civilians.

I liked it, it showed Catnoir and LadyBug being partners not ladybug the save the day superhero. I mostly liked how ladybug reacted but I think she was far too mean to cantor, but it was made up for when she hugged him and told she could never do it without him (but still a bit too harsh). Catnoir development was great. the psychological trauma of alsmot killing someone and having his love, Ladybug, being disappointed in him, made for great development. this development being him doubting himself a little and him thinking he was unworthy of his miraculous. oh and Adrienette was adorable. Overall it was great just I feel bad for Catnoir, I still think Ladybug was a bit too harsh but it was awesome.
I love how their voices change prob new actors but they aren’t squeaky anymore and they have seemed to mature. What i’m hoping for season 4 is that their voices will change like what happened in the movie and maybe some new outfits or new locations would be nice cause i’m kinda tired of seeing the school and marionette/adriens houses every episode. maybe more field trips? also the graphics in the movie are absolutely stunning. and hawk moth actually had good plans which made me into the movie more. and i LOVED the marionette and adrien moments they were so adorable. u don’t see thoes that much in the tv except for marionette stalking him. she wasn’t so stalkish in the movie which was nice and she wasn’t acting so cringe except the part where marionette was sitting with adrien but i’ll let it slide since it was funny. Also i LOVED that their was new superheros around their age. also if u noticed adrien has the same actor but his voice was deepened and he wasn’t so flirtatious and not much quirky jokes. i think the movie was telling us they are growing up in a way. i’m pretty sure they are 14-15 in this movie. in the next season i hope their will be a time where hawk moth actually defeats them for once (but things will be better eventually) cause i’m always like oh don’t worry hawk moth won’t win. also i hope marionette and adrien or cat noir and ladybug will date next season because we deserve it. also i really want adrien and marionette to figure out eachothers secret (without the world ending ofc haha)
Actually only one VA was changed. Everyone else has there same VA. Most likely do to the pandemic they all had to work from home and couldn’t get the voice right or they’re changing the tone.
Alya figured out Nino's identity because she knows his mannerisms and as someone who has experience working as a superhero/sidekick with Ladybug and Chat Noir, she could use her deduction skills to figure out it would be Nino, especially since he would want to protect his girlfriend.

I'm not a good at analyzing things like stuff needed removed or added so it's an almost perfect episode for me. My only issue was how the their voices got deeper, the first time I heard marinette's voice at the start of the special it felt really off to me like I'm hearing a totally different character, it didn't seem like I'm listening to LB at all. I understand if they had some issues dubbing this because of corona but if they can re-dub this I'll be happy. Also if they're gonna change her voice pitch to low, I hope that they change their mind or just make it little lower or maybe make it lower little by little so the viewers can get pretty used to it and they'll feel comfortable listening to her new tone of voice. Same thing also goes for other characters. Thanks for reading my long rant about the voice thing.

I think Alya figured out Nino was carapace since when he was saving her, Nino didn’t put on confidence front like Marinate and Adrian do. Plus he slips up saying “dude” in his normal way. The final reason I’ll leave you with is the fact that they are very close and openly in love making them recognize each other and their feelings.
Remember guys, this is between season 4 and FIVE. We still have a long way to go.

Both "Miraculous World" specials take place between Season 3 and 4. Next time it looks like we will get the build up to Shadow Moth (the fusion form of Peacock and Butterfly Miraculous) Gabriel will use in Season 4.
I'm starting to wonder if we might even get "level up Ladybug" too in the Shanghai Special since they threw the Space Miraculous at us out of nowhere and are basically just using it as transport. I can see it making some sense to power her up once she gets Tikki back after loosing her for a little while.
Unless they save the level Up mode for a bit later in season 4, but there is some suggestion that one of the dolls is Level Up Ladybug and that is out in October so - why release it months before season 4 is out.. ?

If Uncanny can easily see through Marinette and Adrien's disguises because she's a robot, not properly human, then shouldn't Markov know who Ladybug and Cat Noir really are?
Imo LB should have realized Chat is the one really cares for her and she starts to fall in love with him but Chat starts to carry on aaaaaand we see some emotional scenes. Marinette x Adrien just seems pointless to me rn. Marinette should definately fall in love with Chat, it just makes more sense than Adrien.

I have some problems with both #LadyNoir (when they are not actually friends and don't socialise outside battles) also ladybug is quite often a bit of a jerk to Cat Noir (especially in Reflektdoll) where she hits him and treats him like he's an idiot. I'd rather she actually cared about him and was keeping him away due to Cat Blanc - that simply treating him like he's useful and otherwise forgetting he exists.
Also #Adrienette when Marinette is making so little effort to get to know Adrien as a human being. Not to mention Adrien is so attention starved he's coming across like he's mildly crushing on Marinette as she reminds him of Ladybug Physically and so she represents something he can't have - but he doesn't want to letch on her so he keeps her at arms length most of the time... besides he's asked her twice if she likes him and she's said twice she doesn't so why would he think she's lying out of panic ? he might actually genuinely fancy her and think just like LB - she's not interested and that just makes the poor kid sad than none of the girls Like-like him who he likes or like-likes*

I hated that they put the teacher part in but didn’t do anything with it, so as much as I SCREAMED when I heard that Miss B (I can’t spell her name) is pregnant I don’t think this was necessary. Now the part with Adrien’s guard. Like ok, cool, he’s scared of flying, but why do we need to know this? Why did we have 3-4 scenes reminding us that he’s scared of flying? I have no idea. Also the Sabrina love storyline. I would’ve LOVED to see her have her own 2-3 minutes of story instead of short clips.
Also as the story progresses Marinette gets more cringey around Adrien. Like come on, I know it’s natural to be shy around your crush, but to run into a door? Call a plane seat a heating seat? Seriously, it’s making me uncomfortable.
Now onto the parts I loved: I loved to see more Alya and Nino interactions because we don’t get them much. I loved every LadyNoir moment. Also, I loved how they put little details here and there hinting that Natalie is REALLY sick after using the peacock miraculous.
Overall the special was great, I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT. I will definitely be rewatching it AGAIN

4:18the miraculouse put up a low level perception filter where you can see the person but you cant conect the dots. this spell can be broken though. alya has shown to have high perception. she has always had this curiosity too her, she so peceptive that shes been able to gues 3 miracoules holders identies not just nino's. there was a comment where she mentioned cat noir is similar to adrien but marinnette brushed that off and dont forget the episode where alya did suspect marinette of being ladybug in the pharoh because of marinette losing her book. she only found out nino's identity because at that point in the show they were dating and he gave it away easily. marinette wasnt there saying "nope and heres the bs why" so alya put 2 and 2 together.
it would be interesting if alya was able to unmask hawkmoth one day. oh wait isnt that her job in season 4?

Okay... here me out. In the episode Oblivio, i saw something kinda strange?? In the scene where they run into the bathroom to hide, and both reach out to lock the door. They "touch" and *BOTH* Adrien and Marinette blush. And at this point, Adrien hasn't really seen Marinette in action. I've seen Analysis' that Adrien love ladybug for her fast thinking, but at this point, she was just being, Marinette. He just saw her and blushed. Proof that Adrien really does have feelings for Marinette? Even when shes not acting like Ladybug?
You miss a huge part of Gorrila ( Adrien's Bodyguard) . He was so cute in episode.
