We purchased the guide last night and are excited to use it and see the area. FYI for anyone that hasn’t seen Mike and Jen’s guide books they are outstanding. We have purchased many and the details are so wonderful and easy to follow. A lot of work goes into these and I’m thankful for the time they put into these.
Being raise in Ohio. I've been to lake Huron. Lake Michigan. Burr Oak lake. All which are Great and beautiful scenery 😊😊 thank you for sharing the beautiful memories 🥰🥰
Hi Mike and Jennifer. We sure enjoyed this video. Spending our childhood in Michigan, we sure know the beauty the Great Lakes have to offer 💙 We keep scratching our heads wondering if we’ve met you - Mike, you look very familiar to both Jason and I 🤔???
Did you watch WDIV-TV, Local 4 in Detroit? If so, I was a regular on-air reporter there for 18 years. ALso worked at the Detroit News and was a Detroit Free Press columnist. That may be why you think you've met me.:-)
The Great Lakes are phenomenal! After getting custody of my 3 grand daughters I took them tent camping and we touched all 5 plus the St Lawrence over 3 weeks. Lots of memories!
Great info Sir & Mam , thanks to both of you, but was quite short vdo, anywayz keep posting more. Really Lake Huron is massive and one can mistake it to be an ocean, by simply viewing from its beach. Thanks again
Thanks for this video sooo inspiring. We live in San Diego, CA and got to visit Lake Michigan and it was one amazing experience. My next trip across country we want to see more of these beautiful lakes
Yes!! I am a Chicago girl and have had a 57 year love affair with lake michigan! This will be our first full timer trip when we start next year. We love that we can learn from you. I cannot wait to get the book, so excited! Thank you for sharing and being you.
We've got friends who have a place in Port Hope right on Lake Huron. Last year we stayed at the campground in town. Loved being able to hear the sound of the lake 24/7.😊
Michigan is indeed beautiful. Want to purchase your guide, but have a question… Are the roads and RV parks that you suggest accessible to a large class A towing a car?
Thanks Mike and Jennifer for your rv trip books. They are a great starting point for designing a trip. I plan to do some of this in 2022. Have a couple other books and they are really helpful.
Hi Mike and Jen! If someone were to follow your Guide Book to tour the Great Lakes say for 6 to 8 weeks is it feasible to start the tour with out making any pre-reservations? Seeing how crazy things have gotten with full parks and folks being turned away at some campgrounds it seems daunting to just wing it. Is the Fall a easier time to get last minute reservations? Would you suggest booking some campgrounds a week at a time or just one night? Which Campgrounds would you recommend to book 9 months ahead and what suggested timeline should be between lakes/bookings?
Havent done the Michigan side but have stayed at the Pinery, Point Farms and MacGregor point provincial parks on the Ontario side. The Pinery has about the best dog beach you'll find (just a great white sandy beach that allows dogs) and the water is even warm if you go in July or August.
Nice video! Certainly a trip to consider, the vastness of the lake is incredible. As you guys walk the trails and such, it made me consider what you guys use for security when out in the middle of nowhere? I don't like being paranoid about stuff like that but my wife and I like to hike as well, however, being in areas unfamiliar seems to warrant some level of security?
We do absolutely nothing about security. In 10 years, we have NEVER had any sort of incident that would give us concern at a campground, boondocking or hiking. We always practice situational awareness but there has never been a situation we have encountered that would cause us worry.
We have an accompanying blog post for this video with links and lots of extra details...check it out at rvlifestyle.com/great-lakes-shoreline-tour-2/

Toured Lake Michigan two years ago, but not in an RV. This is a great idea for an itinerary...can't wait for retirement!

We love the Ontario side of Lake Huron!
Do you all carry bear spray? Or how do you protect yourselves on your walks? Great idea to tour all the lakes!

I do want that app!☺️
Lake Huron just doesn't have that same vibe that Lake Michigan has
