We have an accompanying article on the RV Lifestyle Travel Blog that we wrote for this video that has links and resources to help you know even more about the Michigan UP - rvlifestyle.com/up-in-fall/
Native Michiganders. We've traveled throughout the U.P. over the years, including by bicycle. We've tried for the past several years to go to the U.P. for fall color season and finally made it this year. We camped at Tahquamenon Rivermouth Campground and after 4 days moved on to Grand Marais. The colors were fabulous, and the weather generally good. We feel fortunate that the U.P. is a close-to-home travel destination- and we try to get there often. BTW, love your RV.
it was cloudy and rained off and on when we were there, met Josh Gates at one of the lightouses that had a museum. Michigan is a beautiful state to visit, we will come again
My great grandfather came from England to work in the copper mines. My grandfather told stories about shoveling snow off their roof when they lived in Ishpeming. Thanks for taking me back to my roots.
Thank you for being such wonderful ambassadors for our beautiful Upper Peninsula of Michigan. I'm a born and raised Yooper and I'm constantly amazed at the beauty of our surroundings here in the UP. Safe travels and again, thank you!
Thanks for this .. The last time I was there was in the 1991. It was the last trip I took with my parents before they died. Just beautiful. Such memories!! I always wanted to go back. It was never that crowded when I was growing up . Times they have changed.
Hi Mike & Jennifer! I loved watching this video of "MY" beautiful UP. My grandparents came from Finland and settled there, had 14 kids, and now I'm the thankful owner (with my siblings) of 40 acres in the Ottawa National Forrest at the base of the Keweenaw Peninsula. Been going up there all my life and absolutely love it. I really enjoyed this video. We miss seeing you two and look forward to a day soon when we'll see you again at church. Love ya, Nancy & Bill
Wow, what colors! And, the Lakes and streams; waterfalls, too. Just fantastic; has been a long time since I've seen such sights. Y'all take good care of the land and lakes! Y'all Be Safe!
Munising Falls, Miners Castle, Indian River Campground and Canoe Access, Colwell Lake....glad you got to visit our town of Munising. Would have loved the opportunity to meet you all.
Thank you. So beautiful! It is really pretty here in Kentucky too. My Husband and I have put the UP on our list for when we come out of hiding and start to travel in our new RV we bought this past January. It is living in our barn. We didn't even de-winterize it. At least we can enjoy your videos. Thank you again for all your hard work.
Visions of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge near Annapolis which takes you to the Eastern Shore (where we live!). Been on it dozens of times but can still be a white knuckle experience. Bucket list trip is UP in Michigan. Thanks guys!
Beautiful video. We crossed the bridge on 9/23 and had the same fog. We love the UP and went twice this summer. We stayed at two Harvest Hosts up there since campgrounds were so full. Enjoy your travels.
McLain State Park is one of my favorites! The sunsets on Lake Superior, from your campsites along the water, are spectacular! Have you been over in the Bessemer area this time of year? Travel north from their stoplight in town. Go to the top of the ski jump at Copper Peak during the color changing season. You can see for 40 miles! When you are at Lake of the Clouds, on a clear day, you can see the ski jump! Travel even further north and visit the seven waterfalls. The app on my phone said I had hiked around 80 flights of stairs as you follow the paths going up and down the paths. Spectacular!
It's called advection fog. It's where a warm moist air mass moves over cool/cold water surfaces; and vice versa warm air moving in from say the gulf of Mexico over colder land mass surfaces.
Thanks for sharing the UP. It is one of our favorite places to visit again and again. You shared some places I have not visited, so I put them on our list for next time! I also loved your elkhound Bo!!
Loved this video. Michigander now living in Georgia. So many great places to explore there. My grandfather was from Brimley in the UP and in the lumber business in the early 1900s.
My favourite video so far. Thanks for sharing. Once the border opens, the UP will definitely be one of our trips and from the images you’ve shared, fall will be the time to go. Thank you 😊

I know my husband and I have said “wow” a hundred times during this video. We used your UP adventure guide, followed it pretty closely, and saw the beautiful end of summer in the UP. Thank you both SO MUCH for your videos and for sharing your amazing knowledge of this beautiful part of the United States!
Noticed a picture of Bond Falls; you were eight miles from my house on the Calderwood Rd. near Trout Creek. Did you visit Jampots; the most awesome bakery run by I think Eastern Orthodox monks near Eagle Harbor? The multiple falls along the Black River as the terrain drops towards Black River Harbor and Lake Superior are also incredible!
I don't miss the snow or the thunderstorms with down pours that you can't see the three feet in font of you,but I sure do miss the colors of the fall, the smell of the chestnuts roasting in the oven! Ah days gone by how I long for yester year !
Loved your video of Eastern Fall colours in your state of Michigan. Why I want to sell where I live now and move back Eastern Canada.. More choices to drive, camp, hike back East.
Hello fellow Upper Peninsula lovers! I am so glad you love the UP. I fell in love with it back in 1987 and moved up here:) I have camped for two weeks this fall boondocking around the UP, except for 2 nights when I just could not resist a beautiful state campground and splurged $15 each for two nights near Grand Marais, very unusual for me:) At 74 it has gotten hard for me to pitch a tent and get up off of the ground, so this fall I outfitted my SUV with a bed, and took off! It has been absolutely glorious. Probably my favorite new discovery this year was camping along the Sturgeon River in the Ottowa National Forest. I bought a blaze orange vest for my dog to match mine, as when I first went out it was bear season, and then became bow season for deer. Wow, I too only spent a couple of hours at Tahquamenon Falls this year because of the hoards of people! But getting off of the beaten track is always more fun anyway :) Thank you for the lovely photography to show me the places I didn't go this year.
In the mid 1980's a friend suggested seeing the ghost town of Mandan on the Keweenaw Peninsula near Copper Harbor. 300 people lived there until the early 1900's. A rich vein of copper was there.
I don’t even own an RV, but love watching your videos! I’m subscribed😊. I live in California, but when I was young, spent my summers along the southwest shores of Lake Michigan, just south of Warren Dunes State Park. Lake Michigan is beautiful!!!
Our questions start with the black tank, maintaining and cleaning to keeping the bugs out. Watching other videos makes us wonder if we are buts for considering becoming RVers. Thanks ... Barry
This was an awesome beautiful video tour of Michigan UP. I've never been in that area. Even though I live in Wisconsin. Really crowded in some areas with people. I've been staying home except for going out for essentials because of the virus. Thank you for the video. It was almost like being there with you. I appreciate your leaving the names of the places in the video description. I wrote them all down. Hopefully some day I'll get to see them all in person. Stay safe. Have a blessed day.
You forgot to put a label on Bond Falls near the end of your video. We have a cabin about 30 minutes away and go there often for the day for a hike down to the falls (we park up by the store) and a picnic and swim at the beach on the reservoir. Beautiful place any time of year. Thanks for the video!
6:08... Beautiful water! I am dreaming about doing the same thing as you two with my wife when we retire. Got a few years to go though! We are just in our early 40's :)
As an ex Michigander...I really miss fall (Coastal Texas is home now) I enjoyed this episode and at a perfect time! Hope you had Pasties while you were there!
Eat a couple of pasties for me! The scenery and your videography are amazing and really show of God’s wonders in the UP. Thanks for dragging me along. It’s so terribly sad to see how the sins of a few wreck things for us all. Had I been their neighbors, I’d have picked up after them, just to keep the CG open. 😢 I’m sure everyone here would have too.
Thank you for sharing. Our fall cruise to Alaska was cancelled due to COVID, so I am enjoying the color. Just looking into RV life. Enjoying your videos!
Wow.. we’ve been following Jen and you for a couple of years...this is one of our favorite vids..great job...can’t wait to visit the UP..thank you both!!
I did my first 'solo' trip to the UP the beginning of October. Even during the week, Tahquamenon Falls State Park was almost full. Absolutely beautiful!!
I have snowmobiled the U.P. for thousands of miles in my time. Memories I'll have forever. Can't wait to get my new Embassy RV B van in December and plan to hit the U.P. during all next season. We sure do have a beautiful state. As for the trash campers, well, if you see this happening, say something. The DNR really should have park signage that leaves nothing to the imagination about how to BEHAVE!!!
We paid $8 crossing pulling out Airstream...hmm?🤫 Have you ever tried Woodland Park in Grand Marais? We left a week or so ago and found that shoreline beautifu with tons of beach....
We enjoy your videos and find you two to be genuine and honest. Thank you. As newbies in the RV world, we have many, many questions. Do you have a blog where we can post our questions? Thanks Barry
Hello, I wonder why the toll was 10.00, maybe time of year? I was just curious and went to their web page and cost are still 4.00, thats 2.00 per axle. Nice video, hope you both are doing well.
You sure that isn't smoke from the fires out west. We've had it here in New Jersey and New York. It's a shame Bo can't run free. The UP is really pretty.
Bridge toll for passenger vehicles is $4. All others is $5 per axle. I've been over the bridge 6 times in the last few weeks in my Roadtrek 200 Popular and was charged $4 each time. Evidently they don't consider your LTV to be a passenger vehicle.
I love this.. I wish my parents could have lived this lifestyle. You guys will have to come see the North Shore in Minnesota sometime, I live in Grand Marais. Come check out Isle Royal
Yes, trash has been a HUGE problem in the UP this year. Visitors have not been respectful of our beautiful land or the hard working residents of the UP. So disappointing.

Hope they all visit this year so we can visit next year. :)
Looks like Bo won on his up front seating arrangement!
I did my first 'solo' trip to the UP the beginning of October. Even during the week, Tahquamenon Falls State Park was almost full. Absolutely beautiful!!

The best way to see Pictured Rocks is with a kayak.
Nothing else to do?
I see the video is dated October 2020. What date range is this video? We’re planning a trip and trying to figure out specifically when to visit.
Dogs are always to be on a leash if on Michigan trails
What camera are you using as well as the gimbal? Thanks in advance. Great dynamic range.
Hey
Unstoppable morgan was there in mackinac
Do you ever go to Presque Isle or Sugar Loaf Mountain in Marquette!
We do... whenever we're in Marquette
Nice video.
