    Thanks for making this video Jo. Laser cutting seems to open up a lot more opportunity in leather making, especially with design, time and money.

    Hi Jo, you may want to try saving your files as a pdf rather than an svg, they should then come into the Glowforge as the correct size as designed in illustrator.

    Oh Jo! What do I say? I have tried hard to ‘master’ leather craft for the last few years, guided by your excellent tutorials, but this is a step too far! About 15 years ago, I was sent on a course to give me an introduction to ‘Sketchup’ and ‘2Ddesign’. Let’s be honest, I struggled! I am still none the wiser, and to see you whizzing around, clicking buttons, and saying Do this, Do that, is still bewildering! It is just not the way my brain works. Thanks for trying! At least I can go back and look, look again and then re-look at what you’re saying so that MAYBE I’ll eventually get it!
    Thank you……..(and thank Skylar too!)

    What are those cool mushroom shaped holders for your leather? Did you buy them or did you laser cut them yourself?

    I've tried to laser cut the leather, but I had an issue with burned leather. What's your idea to clean the burned area?

    • @JHLeather
      @JHLeather  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      So I mask the top surface of the leather and once cut, before removing it I sand the edges to remove the char. Works well for me and I get a nice shiny edge after burnishing to 👍

      @upcycledscraps513 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JHLeather how about those stitching holes? …because of the charring, I couldn’t use the white threads.

    • @lumine8748
      @lumine8748 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@upcycledscraps513 For the stitching holes, I use an awl to dab a bit of neutral edge coat and 'coat' the holes. It is tedious, but for something small like a wallet, it does not take a lot of time.
