sweet video dude. looking for some wireless headphones. didn't love the look but they've grown on me over the course of the video hah.
+Dave Lee Thanks Dave! They have other color combos available and I'm sure you can pick up a nice teal shield for the side ;)
+randomfrankp this can compare with the sound quality with the dt 990 pro's? or hd 650's?
+Dave Lee ha yeh man i was initially turned off by the look as well, thought a little too flashy, hated the shape of the ear cups....but i tried them and they are the best looking pair i've ever put on (at least for my bald head). the shields on mine are too reflective for my liking, but since they are replaceable not huge deal breaker, even with them on they weren't that blingy and just overall were fit my head well. they are, however, a tad on the bassy side.
Hi Dave! Did you get those? if so could you review them please?
You need the XL cups if you want amazing comfort. They change the headphones completely
Great review ! I also got mine last week and cannot be happier, amazing sound. I didnt had any problems with bluetooth. Also this is 4th day im using and battery level still looks same, i didnt charge it since i start using directly out of the box, V-Moda, you rock !!! ✌🏼😀
V-moda really offers great products! I've owned LP2 for 3 years now.. Still rock solid! My recommandation : BUY the extra large memory cushions.. Difference is NIGHT and DAY. Stocks one are good, don't get me wrong, but the XL are way more comfy for extended use. Cheers!
I flinched when you bent the headphones
Same here
I let out a silent "JESUS!"
well, it was that loud in my head, silent as far as my sleeping room mates are concerned.
v-moda make there headphones with military testing level, I have the v-moda m100s they are amazing, great sound, balances bass, and built like a tank, I took mine to uni and bent and twisted head bar, everyone cringed as I did it and sat brushing there headphones like they was a pet trying to protect them lol
I have these headphones now. They are the most glorious thing
I've done enough research on headphones and there are more advantages to this headphone than there are disadvantages. As I've just taken the plunge and gone top of the range of iphones, iPhone 7plus 256gbts. So there has to be a quality matching headphone to sit with my phone. Thank you for the balanced review.
I snagged the m80s on a flash sale for 90$ these are on sale for 120$ thanks for helping me decide to get a nice upgrade. Still keeping the m80s because they still rock. Ill be using them for more... risky activities...
fun fact word "moda" can mean 2 things in Slovene 1) fashion 2) plural for testicles
+SeljD jejejejejejej I agree with one "fashion"
moda means fashion in spanish too
V-Testicles sound badass too lmao
hahaha, perhaps having the headset means that you have both of the definitions? :P
It means beats are trash.
I'm surprised you didn't choose a black/white combo
+Sтعalth Soldiзr They probably sent it to him without taking his style into account.
I'm rocking my LP2 set right now. I have the extra large ear pads and they are good. I like them enough to buy the wireless version if I decided that I needed wireless. The sound is really clean, imo.
I just bought them 3 days ago for 200EUR on discount. They are fantastic. Build quality is superb, sound is fantastic, bass is perfect, mid's and lows very good. Battery life 12h which is really nice.
I think you almost ripping your $200+ headphones in half is worth the thumbs up alone.
great video, I have the m100s , great headphones, built with military grade testing hence there durability, great sound, balanced base, comfortable really can't go wrong and can bag a pair for less than £170
would love to see a vid comparing these wireless vs Bose qc35 as Im in market for a wireless pair, beauty about v-moda they have the lifetime guarantee which enables you to part exchange your old set for a newer model so obviously that's a plus point for v-moda
$300!? gotdamn a little rich for my blood yes sirree, BUT admittedly worth it. I've had my vmoda crossfade LPs for over 4 years now, still going strong. Love the case, braided wire, sound/build quality and only 100 bucks at the time. I'm tempted to get the new model LP2 for grins.
Awesome review. Best ive seen so far for these headphones. Do you know how much the extra cushy padding is?
what I have to say about these headphones is, if you don't care for the sound quality or the style, buy them for build quality. Unless you're running these over with a tank, I doubt you will have to retire them for something else.
Actually scared the shit out of me when you bent the headband like that, nice review Frank.
I have the Crossfade LPs and im very happy with them
Nice video man. If you buy the large ear pads please make a video of them. Thanks
nice review! I was actually looking for some wireless headphones (:
Hey, great review! Really useful, I might be getting mine next week. What do you mean by "they also included these 3D printed..."? They include them by default or yours is just a special case because of the review? Thanks!!
the site lets you order custom shields. some can be 3d printed fiber, steel, or precious metals or laser engraved aluminum.
The V-Moda crossfade 2 is out! hope to see a review soon!
that's definitely a nice presentation may have to reach out to them for a review unit
Your content just keeps on getting better, Frank!
if possible, update us if the braided wires by the cans would open up due to bending...
i exp'd that on urbanears.
great video once again! keep it up! :D
V-Moda Crossfade Wireless or Parrot Zik 3.0?
Which do you recommend
You have recommendations for a better open-air headphones that don't need an amp while giving better sound?
Mine even came fully charged XD.. Though I will say, I decided to take a walk with them using the wire and switch to Bluetooth on the way home, aaannd I did notice that Bluetooth is *ever so slightly* airy, but not in a bad way per sé, just different; Aside from that switching between cabled and wireless is completely seamless. There are no distortions and it sounds more or less exactly the same. Three hundred dollars well spent.
And having Bluetooth is just awesome...
Great vid! Is this the black/chrome colorway? I'm looking to buy and I don't know which colorway this is exactly and this is the one I want
When you have an extra $300 lying around
Lmao
Does using a headphone amp help with these (when using them as wired)? I got my girlfriend the ATH-M50X and I have been wanting to try an amp on those, and it looks like that's how yours are set up. In general, do amps help with headphones of this caliber? And if anyone could recommend a good affordable amp that would be awesome. Great review and awesome set-up!
How do these compare to the Sony gold headset? I know that they are for different uses but what is better for gaming and music?
Why do you have your Top Monitor up-side down?? perhaps to avoid company logo, when you shift your eyes from one to another.
The wireless is bluetooth right? Is that acceptable for gaming? Is there any delay?
Very nice Video Frank!
I love your style with wich you show us the content and you always have an objective view on the products. This is very helpful!
Thank You :D
can we use the headphone as a gaming headset as well with its mic to talk with friends on pc? c:
use the vmoda boom pro
its a cable that basically turns the headphones into an amazing gaming headset
+Perpetually Tired yeah i found out about it after doing more research on these headphones. Im thinking of getting the wireless ones since i keep hearing that they are better than the m-100s in sound. but i hope its not just in wireless mode bcz i plan on using them with wire since i have a good sound card on my motherboard c:
When wired into a source the sound is even better than when using wireless (which is also great.) Best headphones I have ever purchased.
Yuno Gasai I imagine if you have a good soundcard you shouldn't have to worry about it
Yes you can just as long as you have the boom mic with these headphones. I use the on my PC for multiplayer games all of the time, specifically Battlefield 1 and World of Warcraft. V-Moda's are by far my favorite headphone I've ever owned, for gaming or just listening to music.
Now as for listening to music/movies - If you have a strong sound card for your PC like a Sound Blaster then your sound will be amazing. But if you're using your motherboards sound device, like I am with one of my PC's, you might want to look into purchasing a USB amplifier. I own the FiiO Olympus 2 and DAMN does it make a huge difference! Watching movies with explosions or music with a lot of bass makes the amp worth it.
+randomfrankp
Great review! I am purchasing these because of this video.
By the way, and I know this is a random question, but where did you purchase your desk in the background and what brand is it?
What Bluetooth version (3.0, 4.0, 4.2, etc) does the CSR BlueCore Bluetooth of the V-Moda Crossfade Wireless (model I, not II) correspond to?
what about mids and lows?
I do own the original (version I) Crossfade Wireless and have to say that, to my taste, they are / they sound too "boomy" (too much reinforced bass = too much bass-heavy.)
Being pushed the sub-bass is ok for me, as these extra low frequencies are not being reproduced all the time and, aside, they give depth to the sound stage.
But being pushed the mid-bass is an issue for me, as these frequencies are much more present and common on all tracks and, therefore, make the overall listening experience extremely tiring and, on the other hand, unbalanced (their mids and highs get recessed or "veiled" due to the prominent and unnatural mid-bass.)
I wanted a similar sound signature on highs, mids and sub-bass, but with less mid-bass. And I ended up with the Audio Technica ATH-MSR7b's which, in my opinion, do provide a far better sound quality, because they do have less mid-bass (very controlled and natural), but same amount of sub-bass, a bit forwarded mids and excellent but non-sibillant highs. Overall, a very pleasant and balanced (yet deep) sound. With the addition of a revealing extra clarity / transparency to it on all of the frequency range spectrum, what is lacking on the V-Moda's (not bad though, but certainly one step behind.)
However, I'll still keep the Crossfade Wireless cause they are very convenient (the ATH-MSR7b's are not Bluetooth) and their robustness / solid build quality is just top-notch.
did you get the defect one, it's not charging on mine. The rest of it, one of the best for bass head
These are on sale right now for $90
Yeah I’m all about Vmoda. I’ve owned the original m100’s since their inception. I knew I’d eventually get these, I’m just glad they are as cheap as they are now. Still blows other brands out of the water. I did an unboxing for these, as well as a bass test. Check my vids 🤘🏻
I think you are a better reviewer than Taran :D
Are these the best headphones for hip hop/rap. Or is there anything better?
ibeastandfeast1 These will probably be one of the top headphones for that genre
i really have to disagree with you on the sound.
ive noticed considerably more bass i'd say 3-4 db difference with wired/wireless
tried using them just plugged to my phone (nexus 6p) and through my fiio e12 amp and got basicly 3 different sound signatures.
id say the best one was with the amp but since all i listen to has great kicks and bass i use them almost exclusively in wireless mode.
great review otherwise.
(forgot to mention that i use XL pads)
how would you compare them to the audio technica M50s sitting behind you?
Does the crossfade wireless drain battery life when you're using the aux cable to listen to music?
Jon L No the device providing the sound also provides the power for the headphones
Is it just me, or do tose 3d printed shield plates look more orange than red?
Are these the same as the crossfade lp2 but wireless or a different thing entirely?
Random, can you tell me what bit of software you are using on the top screen, looks like a bit of health state software monitoring your system. Thanks.
I'm a little confused as to whether the stud shields come with them, as the site is not clear throughout the checkout process, nor was I sure where to find that 3D option.
MAXXIMILIAN
All headphones come with the smooth Aluminum shields, but you can buy the "fiber" shields additionally for 50 dollars.
Hi,
I don't know too much about build quality so I'm asking you, what material is better for those plates : aluminium or carbon fiber ?
Thank you.
carbon fiber because its lighter and stronger
Jens Joachim Gran Thank you man ^^ I'm gonna trust you and make carbon fiber my choice.
the m100 are ok and durable and had for years the new Bluetooth are rubbish and mine broke on 6 months. the cable is also not great as they say gone through a few.
Hi man i got these headphones they really sound amazing especially the base but when they are used wireless and at low volume i can hear some noise do you hear it too ?
Excuse me, and can be installed with the wireless my samsung tv wireless? sorry for my English I have a cochlear implant for 2 years and I am deaf, I live only for 4 years in California. Thank you so much, Mauro
vmoda crossfade wireless 1 or 2 which have more bass??
Love the video and M-100. What's up with Orange shield? I thought you were black and white guy.
great video
Where can I send my photos of my setup to appear on the battlestations videos?
I have a question, how would you connect Bluetooth headphones to a tv?
i need a microphone on my headset if I want to use it for gaming/skype calls, but I'm guessing frank has a high quality separate mic
You can buy a cable with a microphone for the v modas at 35$
Correction. It's only 30$.
Does this have a built in mic or do you have to use the cable mic?
Hey I am thinking of getting new headphones, I am deciding between the crossfade wireless and the sennheiser momentum 2 wireless. what do you think would be better? I mainly listen to rock and metal, and wear glasses
I have both momentums 2 and vmoda wireless, and if you wanna use them primarily for rock and metal, then I recommend these. Momentums are great all around headphones, but I prefer the bass on these. Momentum beats them in terms of vocals tho
Can its mic be used for Gaming ? I mean if I use these headphones for PC, will its speaker and mic be identified separately by windows speaker config? Or is it completely useless as a headset for PC
you need a headphone and mic splitter
Actually, I purchased the headphones and the cord did snag and stuff like that.
Any chance you could review the new Wireless 2 Codex?
I have them and is amazing I recommend them to everyone and they have a very good build quality it's worth it every single sent out of 300 12 out of 10
Just bought these headphones because of the review. Subbed. (y)
Which software are you using to display the system stats on the upper monitor?
Hey how's the latency with the V-MODA Crossfade Wireless headphones, they say it's zero latency, but can I trust them?
I want to buy these for my dj gigs... but if it's to much latency it would be better to buy the v-moda m-100?
These will work.
Sam Asselborn It's not zero in wireless mode, no wireless headphones are. That being said, they're not bad at all. I would still recommend using them, but in cases where you need zero latency, use it in wired mode and wireless mode for everything else
Can you speak with people while it being wireless on the phone via Bluetooth.
Do the buttons attached to the headphones work with Windows phones?
That song you mentioned im having a little trouble finding it, any suggestions?
Really mice but a bit too expensive for me... I wanted some good wireless headphones for gaming but guess I'm sticking to my hypercloud x
Yo Frank, couldn't find you reference song :c Could you provide a link? Thanks!
These are now on sale for 180$ from vmoda & amazon
do you hear static noise when you use this headphones?
Hi, the headphones works good with ps4?? And i guess they don't are 7.1
now v moda m100 beats studio and sony mdr100 abn ar at 250 can u tell which one sounds better in bass and over all.previous i was using a 20$ earphone and i was ok with isolation... plz help me
I guess you could say these headphones were...
an eye-opening experience
do you know how the sound compares to the psb m4u2? I have the psb m4u2 and am really wanting these but want to get a n image of how they differ in sound. I live in uk so cant go to a shop to demo these, thanks
Your Wallpaper looks insane link?
I'm really considering picking these up but I have a pretty small head and i'm worried that they will be too big. Should I buy these or look for something else? Any wireless headphone recommendations? (I have Astro a50s )
+Bopeepout How about earbuds?
+Mogroo T Lord no. I'd rather have a headset. I have a nice pair of earbuds already :)
Bopeepout
I see!!!
+Mogroo T Yeah :)
Definitely get these.
Hey, do this headphones have good noise canceling?
How are they as far as noise isolating goes?
Which DAC have you been using?
Sennheiser 598s have the same headband function
I Love my m100's! They're the best headphones i've ever used.
How the hell are you using the stock pads?
Please tell me what that headphone stand is called! I WANT IIT! 2:36
But 1080p60 looks better than 4k .... anyways killer video frank
are you able to talk for pc gaming with bluetooth?
Two questions:
1. Did Corsair giweaway already end?
2. What GPU do I need for 1080p 144hz at max settings?
gtx 980 or amd r9380x
+Faris Rafi Doens 970 SLI give much better perfomance? in tests it was much better
+JokkuraSalavala
It depens on the game!
+JokkuraSalavala 970 SLI needs more power consumption even the performance is way more better than just one single 980..if you wanna make a bridge between those card..i suggest you to take R9 nano in crossfire..you will get energy efficiency yet better performance as well..
+Edmo96 Fps games mainly like bf4 (BF5 when it comes) battlefront, also warframe and some sp games.
Will this work with metal music? because i bought Bose Qc35 and when I play music of this genre they sound really weird
Chris Báez They should sound better than the qc35. The qc35 are great, but primarily for noise cancellation. Either these or something more neutral like sennheiser momentum wireless would both work very well.
are they better or beats studio 2 wireless??and why??
Do there have good bass for hip hop?
the quality of this vid is awesome
Just got mine today had the m100s traded them back to V-Moda and got the wireless for $165 they sound better than 100s
+TheJay1976 is the upgrade worth it even it means no more folding ear cups or dual ear slot for another earbud or headphones to connect?
+Rene Pastuizaca for me it was worth it only cause I didn't pay full price, IMO they do sound better and I needed some Bluetooth headphones ,but to upgrade for the full price of $299 I probably wouldn't do it
hmm alright than cause I'm in search for new headphones and headset for gaming and i heard about these so i am undecided should i go for v mode m100 or the wireless ones or others
?
+Rene Pastuizaca if you just had to pick one go with the wireless cause they do sound a little better than the m-100s ,I use them too for gaming get the V-Moda boompro mic it sounds really good
+TheJay1976 alright thanks man you got any tips or info or like experience with them like they better than the wired m100
Who won the Corsair giveaway?
Please I need a reply!!!! Do I need a DAC for these?
How good is the Built-In Mic for teamspeak and skype?
Idk about the mic quality, but V Moda sells a mic attachment that is built into a regular cable. It's pretty nice
