Awe. When his little eyeballs rolled up in his head and he dozed off on the glove that melted me completely.

Just LOOK at that darling, cuddly baby toddling around on feet bigger than he is!!! I want to start hugging and cuddling! And he's so loving!!! It's wonderful to watch him climb and perch onto laps, and to play with that ball of yarn, just like a human baby would! And Duke grew up to be so BEAUTIFUL!!! Falcons are my favorite birds. I'm so envious watching your hands-on care! I'd sell my eye teeth for such an opportunity (LOL)!!

Duke's first strutting walk at the beginning was priceless and his turning his back to the camera and splicing was wonderful political commentary!!!
    Thanks!!!

Gerard.Manley Hopkins’ famous poem “The Windhover” presents an idealised and remote depiction of a falcon, but this video presents a more endearing and sympathetic picture. It takes us inside his world as he literally finds his feet as a wobbly, vulnerable chick and gradually learns how to be a fully fledged falcon. Love your beautiful garden btw!

To go from a helpless, ungainly ball of fluff to a ravenous predator in a mere three months is amazing.
    Happy hunting Duke!

Krystle Cague -- I noticed that as well. Appropriate funky music as Duke is developing, and then, later, "Inspirational" music when he begins to fly. Well done!

Wonderful to see the transformation from the ball of fluff at the beginning to the handsome bird taking flight for the first time! I watched this immediately after watching your "Introducing Duke" video, showing the gorgeousness of his fully developed plumage, which highlighted for me how much more development he still had to go through after his first flight. Thank you!

I love how birds go from adorably ugly, helpless little fluff balls, so some of the most majestic creatures out there. Except for kiwis, they look better as babies, all fuzzy and cute, because their so developed (that's the point of the massive egss) they grow into shy fat awkward creatures. Lol

Thank you for an amazing video documentary. Birds of prey and falcons in particular are the most beautiful, striking animal. I have rescued and raised a 3 or 4 day old pigeon and I know, not nearly the same. :-) but I can relate to the growing process and to some of the training because I did actually so a bit of training with him. Pigeons are incredibly smart. Your video brings it all back to me and really makes me want to learn to be a falconer. To see them go from little fledglings into strong, self sufficient, gorgeous creatures, flying free .... I so admire what you do and the dedication involved in training.

Its cool that you can have them in your home and have them come to you, he seems like you could pet him more since you brought him up from a baby, which he reminds me of one of those dogs where their paws are so BIG when they are puppies, his feet are so big for him as a baby lol, It looks like when he closes his eyes, its from the bottom up and not from the lid down like a human, does he also have 2 different eyelids to protect him from dust or dirt? I really like him, and his coloring too, it was such a joy to watch him grow up thanks

Mastering those huge feet & wings in such a short time! I hear owls in my rural N. Georgia USA neighborhood right now. Have found some cool pellets to dissect, apparently there's lots of good bunny prey around. Appreciate your care for these sky masters, have you ever had a bird not return to you? Do they get the urge to breed?
