Voice volume is great, intro volume is good but maybe one or two notches down? I don't think it's bad where it is now, it's just a touch louder than the rest of the video
It's crazy that devs are so eager to punish the people that are willing to stick around find the fun before fixing the stuff that drove out the masses in the first place.
Sadly this video shouldnt have been made until Season 2 launched. We know that exp scrolls will be activated then. We know that the devs are scrambling to solve the inventory capacity server load issues. These things take time and the devs are still finishing the main story arc, which is what the last update helped to achieve. Wayfinder may be terrible at launch, but let Airship Syndicate get there before judging their game. I'm honestly disappoointed in Brozime for making this video because he understands game development and early access better than this.
@@hieroglyph3027 brozime said the xp and alot of the systems are messy but he also understands that its still a beta and they can work on it... the main point of the video is bringing to attention that they are nerfing the fun players are having already before they game has made a name for itself and is as a result shooting itself in the foot... besides xp scrolls which your banking on fixing the current xp problem is not a good way to fix it
@@curydude 'Good' is subjective and what you or I want does not account for what the devs have planned (because we don't know what that will be yet). As I noted in another reply, think of early access as establishing a baseline for the release version. The changes dealt with several outliers and you honestly don't need them to be that strong to complete the content. The devs specifically noted that all of the 2H weapons will perform more equally and that is definitely a 'good' thing. The idea that nerfs are 'bad' is a gross exaggeration. At least in early access, nerfs should be used to create a baseline for power. For example, AS would have to buff every other 2H weapon to compete with Titan's Bane, they would also have to increase resilience for bosses which means all other weapons would have to be adjusted to deal with that change. It quickly becomes a lot of work and the easiest solution was to bring Titan's Bane in line with the other weapons. Thankfully, doing this in early access is the best possible time to make these changes. And like I said, you didn't need that crutch anyway. The only valid argument is that if you purchased Titan's Bane and want a refund, but you probably purchased it because it was OP so really this line of thinking justifies the nerf.
@@hieroglyph3027 If they wanted to sell "QA access" they should have marketed it as such. There's an expectation of the term 'early access' now that implies what you're 'accessing' is indicative of the finished product, and this is not what we got. This video was Brozime saying "I don't want to cover this game until it looks like it's going to pull itself out of this nosedive, and I can't recommend it to anyone in this state" and he's well within his right. He's not part of AS or DE's PR or marketing team. If anything, given how he was plugging it in the past, it's morally correct to update potential customers on how he feels now. I get it. I spent money on this too. I'm not one of these people complaining and trying to get a refund, that money's been spent either way and it is what it is, but I'm not about to give them the benefit of the doubt when they've shown that balancing an end product that feels like it's really, really far into the future is more important than the enjoyment of the tens of thousands of paying customers who have since refunded or moved on. They're sticking to a ten year plan when the lights could get shut off within months.
The Artifacts and Echoes cap just broke me, seeing that "your inventory is full" after 2 dungeons because i got spammed with shitty artifacts and echoes that i am never gonna use. And then being forced to sell all that shit while not having a batch sell option, good inventory sorting options etc. while fighting the biggest endboss in the game: The UI. They said its because the inventory has to be capped because its all loaded into the open zones, causing lag to players if a player with a huge inventory of stuff joins. But instead of blocking the ability to change your inventory while in an open zone, or adding an infinite stash to skylight so its not tied to your char, they chose the worst fucking option of the bunch to limit your inventory.
There's no fkin way, if I am interpreting what your saying correctly they made a multi-player game that loads an entire inventory any given player on screen then this game is seriously fked. How do you make such a basic mistake like that? Did blizz secretly make this? Like imagine if warfame had to load the entire inventory of everyone in the bar, there wouldn't be 10 people in that bar before it lags lol.
This is my biggest issue as well. I hate that big orange box letting me know when I hit 85/100, I can still carry 15 more, that's a lot to have a big orange box on my screen that won't go away. It just something I don't want to deal with all the time. It's not fun, simply annoying.
The game fundamentals (dungeons, gameplay loop) are insanely fun to play with but yeah, it feels like the devs have given up and are just trying to make the game as annoying as possible in every other way so people drop it fast. Its insane how such basic stuff like EXP gain and item management hasn't been improved yet.
It has though? They tripled exp from bosses, increased exp from other sources, made world bosses spawn more often, reworked the echo system to be more like endo from Warframe, increased drop rates of rare stuff, wtf are you on???
@@TheLotusEaterUnveiled So, I do think the playerbase are kind of weirdly down on the XP values. People coming in from Warframe seem to forget Warframe has 50+ warframes, hundreds of weapons, companions, and on top of that Forma. The XP gain in Wayfinder can afford to be slower than Warframe, the two aren't comparable. That said... I agree with the OP here about all other aspects. There's just fundamental issues with this game that seem deliberately designed to be annoying. Accessories being tied to character level is dumb, for example. If I can equip a level 30 weapon to a level 1 character and boost their stats to grind at higher level content to level them faster, why am I stuck using low level accessories? Similarly, why do we need an RNG check to see if an accessory drops, and RNG check on what echo slots it has, and on top of this you need to track enemy level for the level of the accessory too? They've insisted they want to build a community too, but the mods in the Discord are so ineffectual that I don't even really keep track of what goes on in there anymore. I mentioned I had a bug on PS4 that was causing full app crashes, and got lambasted by PC Master Race neckbeards for an hour. Heck, after the first week or so they stopped reporting progress in there until enough players kicked up a fuss to get regular updates in a dedicated channel. It isn't enough to have a 'good idea for a game' and roll with it and develop it in real time with a player base like Warframe did back in 2013. The landscape was different then, and we didn't have 100+ live services vying for our attention. How many live services have died in the past few years because they couldn't justify their existence with a rewarding gameplay loop and diversity of content off the bat? Heck, we're even seeing giants like Destiny 2 flounder lately.
I bought the $150 founder pack because I believed in giving the devs a chance. They're making a live service game that doesn't look like most of the other similar ones. But they really haven't been listening to the community as much as they should. It's really not that hard to boost experience gain, for example.
They haven't boosted xp gain, because the plan was always for that xp to also come from dailies, weeklies, and the xp scrolls that are not yet implemented. All planned to drop with the next update, as they've been pretty transparent about for a while
Worst part is. The first 2 weeks leveling was reasonable, cause repetable quests were bugged and xp scaled with sphere level which makes sense and dosent seem like a bug. But that got nerfed into the ground so hard it lost about 20X effectiveness and the devs just ignored the outcry to revert the nerf.
This is why I like this channel. Gets EVERYTHING for free, but retains his honesty policy, and talks about the good and the bad. Mostly the bad, in this case, but point still stands! As for the game itself, these are the reasons why I never get founders stuff. I played Warframe on launch, and I did see the packs, but I just couldn't bring myself to believe in devs. The fact that I was still in school with very limited money didn't help, but I just can't do it, even now! I got Outriders, was enjoying it despite its flaws, and then the first patch was a collection of destructive nerfs, completely ignoring thee glaring issues. Even had to have a dispute with steam to get my refund! I really want this game to be good, but from what I've been hearing, and now this video, this feels like another flop, sadly...
If he had actually played the game beyond the main story he'd know it's not nearly in as bad of a state as he claims, balance-wise. If he bothered to read any updates from the devs he'd know they've already addressed most of his criticisms, are actively working on solutions, and that some are estimated to drop in the next update. But why do that when he can shit on a game he knows nothing about. His opinion on the state of the game is as trustworthy as someone with 20 hours in Warframe.
Given up a few months into EARLY ACCESS...? What sense does that even make? lol. I swear the game is indeed like 30% complete, but the more I see people paying for an early access game and expecting a complete product day one of it is dumbfounding.
Ugh I remembered the nerfs. The whole idea of Outriders is how OP they were compared to everyone else, and yet, they nerfed everyone to doom, and it took forever to take down mobs. Plus the snipers...those freaking snipers
@@James-kv3ll People were egregiously comparing it to Warframe and Destiny, when it was more comparable to something like Borderlands. That said, they treated it like a live service, with the always online stuff, the constant nerfs, and drip feeding some of the content.
Outriders wasn't a liveservice game comparing it to D2 and Warframe is dumb. You would be a completionist in that game within 3 to 4 weeks and thats the end.
@@jvjdyou needed to be always online to play it, the Devs wanted to keep building on the game for years to come. That's the definition of liveservice game I understand some devs want to steer away from being categorizes as such, since many players think of live service games in a negative light, but not naming your game a live service even while it completely is and having like 3-4 vocal online simps yap about it will not change the fact. The game was a live service, and it failed not because it was a live service but because the devs were shite at balancing the game
My exact sentiments, for a game that wants you to try out new stuff and level them they sure level really really slow, and i think there will be a prestge system like formaing later and i dont wanna think about levellng a wayfinder 5 times over
So even with just the visible empty boss/lost zone slots, the "main story and bosses" he completed is ~35% at most. And thats zones, not counting other quests (someting like 5 were just added) and Jobs (which might be the future daily/weekly, or just repeatables) You can't go 2 missions without picking up Resonance items, which are some form of consumable XP that isn't implemented yet. Ascension is on the roadmap, but theres nothing indicating (or not indicating, to be fair) that it will be Forma-style where you relevel the character completely each time. Its just a lot of doom and gloom for a game that is miles off actual release, has visible frameworks you can see in the game waiting to go live. And generally yeah, they might make some concession tweaks (and did with XP to some extent) but expecting whole hog rebalancing when the core systems involved arne't in play yet is silly
@@RBRSC its not really doom and gloom its just im not optimistic anymore, I was in the discord servers when the game launched i put 100 hours the first week and i was just saying the things you said to trolls in the discord. My stance is more of a annoyance at how they are handing as brozime put it also its just plain not fun levelling characters and weapons at the same time cuz you are such a low power level you cant even farm something at the same time which makes it to " okay i gotta level wingrave with lets say arcstorm. both are level 1 so i can't put good ecos, i cant wear good accessories, so its just low level stuff that you need to run for literally hours. I am not saying it should be 10 mins to level a wayfinder, but i personally dont have fun when my character is weaker in both cases and i need to do a dungeon that gives me nothing else but xp even then it is just such a low amount. Also please tell me how hard is it to implement the wayfinder exp things when they did a whole patch with new content or tweak the experience gain"apart from buffing the bosses which gives really bad exp anyway and buffing minibosses which hardly mattered after the fact" I cant really sit down and play and pretend these are not issues in the game, as i said im not making doom and gloom post it is just what they provided over after launch period.
Most/all of the issues with Wayfinder seem to be due to "skill issues" on the part of the devs. They don't seem to know how to program/run/utilize servers or even inventory systems. The entire reason we have limited inventory is due to lag created because of how the game loads players inventories. Same with all the connection/loading issues, in that connecting to the server(s) acts like I'm logging into the game for the first time. Then there's the exp system that's purposefully and painfully arduous due to their basically being a lack of overall content. Compare that to another "warframe inspired" game that ran a beta the same time Wayfinder launched into EA.. The First Descandant. At least there, everything at works and respects your time investment. Ironically, TFD also has a limited inventory systems but has the forethought of streamlining the "cleaning out" process to the point it can be done in seconds. Simply bookmark the items you want to keep and then "select all unwanted" to liquidate them out for crafting mats or credits. You even have a storage box (another thing Wayfinder doesn't have) to store items you want to keep but don't need right now or are afraid to get rid of. Leveling in TFD is nearly as fast as Warframe, in that you would typically use Sanctuary Onslaught to level Frames and Weapons to max in about 10-20 mins. In TFD you can do defense missions that not only get you "void mats" but also level your stuff to max in about 45-60 mins. Compared to Wayfinder that takes no less than 12-15 HOURS per character/weapon. At the moment, I have more fun creating new interfaces/systems in photoshop/unity3D than actually playing the game. I think the devs of Wayfinder either don't know what they're doing or are caught up in a lot of Red Tape between execs/departments. Reminds me of "Fallout Creator Explains Why Modern Games Suck".
I made it like 20 hours in before I just couldn't muster Wayfinder anymore (and that was before the apparent slew of nerfs which I didn't realise they did lol) Felt like I was going crazy playing and getting super frustrated but its good to see that pretty much the issues for everyone are the same universally: -This game expects and unreasonable amount of effort for an underwhelming amount of reward -Throws arbitrary stats and numbers at you under the impression you're supposed to know what any of it means -It Doesn't respect your time, has been going forward with a nerf mentality instead of addressing fundamental issues with game systems -The entire Echoes system Which sucks because the combat is a blast! It's just a shame and pretty worrying that the developers seemingly have no idea where they want to take this game yet.
The online gaming ecosystem is way too saturated for a brand new IP's first game to stumble right at the start. If this is the first impression the game is making, early access release might've been a mistake. A game really needs name recognition to pull an ARR, and Wayfinder doesn't have that.
Definitely needed more time in the oven, or a better communication on the state of the game at the time of the early access launch. Many, myself included, assumed that the free to play launch being potentially six months out meant that the game was in a pretty stable, feature complete place and just mostly needed balance passes.
The leveling is so abysmally slow it absolutely makes you quit, the fact that im playing for HOURS and level up my Wayfinder by 1 is insane. They holding the job board and scrolls for Season 2 but man having the state of game like this for months is rough. Im still quite positive up to the official launch and thats where i will see if the game will pick up the pace or nosedive until shut down.
Also the update cadence is really weird? Are they holding up for seasons where they will drop more meaningul changes? Since launch we basically didnt see any significal QoL improvemets other than Echo dust, infact it got worse since we have a cap now on accessories.
I only got into it because of the connection to DE. Amd honestly while it is good - I'd rather play Warframe 😁 My Corpus Brothers need my help in those invasion missions!
If this game is already averaging not even 1,000 players daily then it might as well already be on its death bed. I will be surprised if it continues to have service beyond 2024.
Quit playing when I realized the combat got stale and that the game wanted me to grind for hours just to continue progressing the boring story. The game needs WORK. It needs more stuff, better stuff, and less bad stuff. Also the lack of cosmetic customization for most of the characters is awful and kills motivation
For me, the core reason I stopped playing was that the game was extremely laggy in my region. Overworld was always on NA and unless I play solo, instanced missions never seem to be on OCE so the game feels awful.
I will *NEVER* understand the nerf mentality of devs. It would be one thing if it was rare to see, but nerfs seems to be the knee-jerk reaction in every game I see.
If one weapon is overpowered then people complain others are underpowered, then if they buff every weapon then the game is too easy then they have to buff the enemies, so instead of nerfing 1 thing they buff everything else which ultimately has the same end result for a lot more work.
@@pedrogomes693 I don't think Brozime was calling for everything to be buffed. If it takes a long time to level stuff in, let's be honest, this early beta version of the game, players are actively discouraged from experimenting and using other gear. So when the devs take the stance of "Nerf first, see how the meta adjusts" you are more likely to see players close the game and say "Well, it was fun while it lasted." I dunno why turning on the XP items that have accumulating in our inventories wasn't a priority after players started getting turned off by the XP.
@@Joe90h Well for what it's worth (no promises though) but they're gonna see if they add those to the game before season 2 and if they can't well, season 2 is a month away so either way we're getting them fairly soon, we'll also have job quests in s2 which are like dailies and weeklies.
@@pedrogomes693 It's probably too late now. Game lost about 98% of its playerbase in just 3 months (August to October). That's about the same insane decline than Valve's attempt at a card game, Artifact. And Wayfinder is NOT free to play, so people have to commit financially before trying, and with the bad rep it has, I don't see that happening.
I never got around to Wayfinder because there is so much that came out this year that I just didn't have the time. I was hoping it would become something cool eventually though.
It's got lots of potential, but lots of flaws that are actively being worked on. I'd suggest checking it out for yourself when it launches free-to-play, because Brozime hasn't played the game enough to know what he's talking about
@@TheMunkis Zime has played for 20+ hours, I've watched him on stream. If someone needs more time than that to know about the game I probably don't have time for it anyway. If wayfinder survives to become a finished product though I'll probably take a look at it then.
@@spacerewriter It's absolutely fair not to have time for this kind of game. But I also wouldn't trust someone's word on "the state" of a live service game after just 20 hours. Would 20 hours be enough for someone to have an understanding of the state of Warframe? Final Fantasy XIV? Destiny?
@@TheMunkis Yeah, 20 hours is more than enough time understand Warframe or FFXIV. I can't think of a game that would require more time than that to understand the main systems. I also can't imagine expecting someone to play more than that in order to review a game. I can't speak to Destiny as I've never played it. Also, Warframe is a very casual game, and you'll understand the main systems involved much sooner.
@@spacerewriter you'd have some basic understanding, sure, but those first 20 hours are not very representative of the state of the endgame, are they? Seems misleading to make claims about an area of the game he hasn't experienced. I mean, he never even tried to level another character to see if it as slow as he thinks it might be.
After not being able to even try the game for like 2 weeks after the initial release, because of server issues, tried again like 2-3 weeks ago and I could play the tutorial and never being able to finish it lol Everytime I got to the portal to finish it, I got send to the login screen. And I TRIED A LOT OF TIMES That finished killing this game for me, it just gave me the strongest "incompetent devs" vibe ever. So F that
They didn't even fix the problem with guns. Shotguns and Arcstorm do ridiculous damage with the basic attack. All they did was nerf the sometimes used weapon abilities. Even without the weapon abilities, Shotguns and Arcstorm are mindnumbingly easy to obliterate the entire game while melee is frustrating hard in some cases... like the Reaver King boss.
I love this game. I love slow progression. I hit 30 with my Wingrave before the main boss. Leveled 2 weapons to 30 also before that. Dunno how you play, but it seams like You want to level everything in a week and then complain that there is nothing to do anymore. This game just does leveling and progression right. Atm I grind endgame with my Wingrave, and whenever I want a break, I level my Niss. This is the way. Reminds me good old wow classic times.
Tbf that's exactly what DE did with Warframe in 2012. The difference to me is that back then DE desperately needed those founder pack sales to keep the lights on, whereas this feels like unnecessary greed because the studio is doing just fine.
Dauntless also did it, Path of Exile did it, Path of Exile 2 will do it again too, ... etc. there are lots of games with smaller companies behind them that do that exact thing. Btw Steve said at some point last year that they won't do it with Soulframe this time, because DE is in a different position rn
@@archonnova20did he? Isn't warframe doing alright? but somehow an heirloom pack released recently that they said was like a supporters pack. The game is doing fine but they still need support? Or is it not?
Their support sucks . Was told to go to support when I did not get my early non access server full compensation rewards on the first, only to be told our systems did not detect you were waiting in queue inspite of even showing the bill and review date Their monetisation sucks like apex legends and the entire server is filled with its early access so it expected to not get access 😂😂. The devs , support and community are full of quacks . Regretted the purchase and left
Well dang, I was actually looking forward to the F2P release next month. I'll still check it out but now my expectations are lower, I'll still check it out for myself but I will not be blindly buying anything before I try it myself.
After tennocon I got an odd fun thing where I was on a flight to visit family next to someone who works on the Wayfinder team remote from new york - Got to ask them questions and chat the whole flight, it was awesome, they were awesome, and it seemed like there was some good enthusiasm towards the game. while on my mini vacation after tennocon, I took a look at the buy in for Wayfinder and just had that instant bad taste in my mouth with what they were giving as "founders packs" This game has a lot of promise it seems - I haven't played it, but it looks promising - that being said, I have no desire to buy it, or spend money on it as it stands.
just to follow up because I don't think I was being clear as I'd like to - It seems like they are doing diablo style patches - ignoring what's wrong with the product vs celebrating what's enjoyed. and having an early access buy in for bonus EXP gains, however little in a game where EXP grind is a dominant issue is big yuck
@@FlammableAirFreshener To be clear, the XP gain item in the founders pack is just for the 'season passes', not gear levels. That said, the base XP for season pass levels is a bit wonky too imo.
a game where your manual attack has a tendency to fly in a direction you're not aiming at unless you disable a specific control setting you would never know about without a google search on Reddit/the community on the decline? color me surprised...they still havent added item sorting for their convoluted mess of an inventory system
It's so irritating and upsetting just how many games come out in such messy states and the best way to experience them is just "wait a year and play it later IF it's in an okay state by then".
I was playing the game for a long time. I did grind out quite a lot and it was the worst experience of my life (and I was playing warframe during stamina days...) Im talking about level 30 all characters and weapons (except nightshade and heroic kyros), multiple purple echos for a weapon power set, crit power set, and ability power set, multiple level 30 artifact sets, the boss trophies, AND the whole battlepass. After like 50 hours of playtime I couldnt open my artifact OR echo tab which has been....mitigated now, but boy was that rough. And that was only from leveling two character - theyre by far the worst to level because its literally anywhere from 15-25 hours each depending on your method. I was willing to give the game a pass because god knows warframe didnt launch in a much better state and it took warframe a long time to BE in a much better state, but in my head it was "DE certified" so I thought it would go differently. After all DE has made much of the same mistakes like movement, ui and ux clarity, drop chances and respecting player time. They seem to have a lot of good changes in their update 2 patch but from the looks of it was mainly just stuff to fix stuff from launch. Oh and xp scrolls still don't work. I feel like they put in a lot of systems and just scrapped it last second tbh.
I just started thisbgame last night so I havent sunk enough time to find all these flaws but im investing time hoping the experience gets better in the future. I totally get that its early access too and that some of the stuff may never get fixed. I just really wamt to root for Airship Syndicate.
The Wayfinder devs need to focus on keeping the game functional & fun first, because focusing on nerfs at the moment will only incentivize players not to login
actually, making more builds and itemas viable is very important for a game like this to be playable for more players. They did good with TB and Tempest nerf. It was based.
Ugh, I love warframe, but not really into the Duviri portion, and that's how SoulFrame looks for me. I really hope they pull it off, just don't see how that game will be a live service game
Right there with you man. I quit just before the echo changes because of nerfs before fixes and mainly that entitled expletive "sir snarf" crapping on us.
Everything the devs are doing is pretty transparently made to slow the players down right now. It's everything they can do to give themselves time to work on a game that clearly wasn't ready for early access. This is an alpha build. Core systems are missing/half finished. Grouping is a rudimentary implementation. You can't just add people to your group you have to have their unique identifier to add them to a friends list and then you can invite. They have housing that once you setup there's no reason to ever return. There's no storage other than personal which is shared between your characters so the accessories, which you can only hold 100, get filled up quickly. It makes it virtually impossible to level more than one character at a time or save items for future builds. Leveling is a slow plod as you can only do the story missions once per account. If you do content at the highest level you receive items that have a level too high to equip currently. This game is going to need a lot of work to straighten things out.
Wow... Do you mean players appear no longer interested in ugly, soulless, generic shit-as-a-service scams? Should we conclude there's actually a glimmer of hope for the present-day gamer community? 🙀
I got hte cheapest founder pack fo rconsole and played for baout 5 or 6 hours, but droppe doff when i realized i had only unlocked like 3 of 4 abilities, and i didn't understand what, exactly, they did. I was waiting for news on it getting some big changes to go back, but i don't htink that'll happen anytime soon. It also had the same problems most MMOs have, which warframe thankfully doesn't do: it shotguns you with a ton of shop systems and npcs in the first couple hours and expects you to remember all that shit. reminded me of when i tried to play ff14 and 8 hours in, they ahd me fly to the other 2 main cities and do quests that were basically city tours and i quit out of boredom. i don't need to get to know the sword smith my first time in a town, even if htye're hugely important to the story. seriously, just say that's dave, let me get my feet under me, and then build up dave over several hours before he reveals himself to be the prince of whatever, and hten i can get to know him. if your game is good, i'm gonna dump like 500 hours into it, so you can have slow burn stories. like, can you imagine if the first episode of game of thrones tried to introduce their entire cast in the first episode? nah, show em the main players, let me ge thteir story rolling, and we can expand on it later. sorry, i jsut watched the wheel of time tv show finally and while it's not hte worst thing ever, it forces so many unneccesary errors in weird ways and it bothers me that they coudl have had a good show if they tried less hard.
Maybe it’s just me- but this game feels so fucking blocky. The combat with the daggers especially so. I play on ps5 and It feels like I have terrible input lag at all times and I truly don’t get it.
The options devs have: 1: Make all the other weapons and potential builds just as fun and engaging as the ones people are currently using and enjoying 2: Make all the best weapons and potential builds just as lame and boring as the ones people are currently not using or enjoying Devs: "Ah, yes, clearly #2 is the superior option here, let's do that!"
Outriders stole the nerf every thing while ignoring all the problematic systems that just become worse with the nerfs approach from Anthem. Another stellar example of the destination this path takes you to.
Game is bad because they kept nerfing fun stuff while underwhelming stuff stayed bad - you just described why I stopped playing Warframe so much. Fingers crossed the recent fun additions don't get equally nerfed into the ground.
I love this game and i agree with you especially the echo system needs a complete overhaul Im srry but this game need way more time maybe fall 2024 season 4 or 5
That's a bummer. I watched this video because I wanted to know how the game was doing and (hopefully) get in when it went full FTP... sadly, it doesn't seem like I'll be doing that no more. IMO the fact that it is distributed by DE is actually detrimental to it because DE's approach to many videogame mechanics is outdated or just playig bad. We've seen this time and again or Warframe, and unfortunatelly it bled to Wayfinder. Sad times.
Definitely agree, game felt off even before I heard about any nerfs. Paid for the £30 bundle and even without server issues I played less than 10h. I played almost 60 of the first descenant beta, if you're looking for a Warframe alternative Wayfinder ain't it.
From day one it seemed like the Devs have added more and more of a grind to the game to make the option of opening your wallet to save time a better option. On top of that what Devs saying they dont need people to play the game at this point. All the nerfs and everything and then having the white nights in their discord that paid $100 plus dollars saying it will be a great game blah blah blah. I was one that was really looking forward to this game but at this rate it will be shut down before it leaves early access. just look at the numbers that they have now. sure if they get it launched in their F2P model you will see a spike in players but that will drop real quick.
Besides shitty bugs and balance dicisions, is the core gameplay at least decent with enough variety to be fun replaying? I would only be interested once this becomes public beta
A few points im having trouble with, your complaining about xp but havent leveled since they increased the xp from bosses in both dungeons and boss zones your basing your leveling up exp off the old system after they had removed scrolls based on the new xp you can go from 1 to 30 on main quests and priority quests. The titans bane nerf along with other weapon nerfs - titans bane nerfed resulted it being a few seconds slower than it was granted it was massively over powered compared to other weapons now its more in line with them same for arcstorm and tempest being now more in line with others and still very strong. The nerfs look way worse on paper but in actually game play are barely noticeable. They have actually said they will look more into the weapons at a later date after season 2 is out which brings the bulk of the systems still waiting to be added to the game, i think you leaving it like this with having barely played anything since the initial launch (which is quite obvious given the level, some of the outdated opinions, the echoes etc)
I spent hours grinding after the initial changes if you are referring to the changes that happened after this video I obviously could not have experienced that
@@Brozime If that was the case you would know that Titans bane for example is still best in slot 2 hander for the majority of wayfinders it being nerfed is not as bad as you and the warframe youtubers make it out to be same case for tempest and arcstorm which are still best in slot picks aswell, They brought those weapons down to be in line with others while still being at the top until a full weapon balance happens. If you had spent hours grinding you would of hit level 30 easily on wingrave and based on other youtubers work it takes 19 hours when playing solo through all the story + some questing to get to level 30, the story alone takes you to level 28 - 30 and this is before they just buffed xp up 300%. You would have a valid point if you had done that part of the video when they nerfed the repeatable quests around a month in before they buffed up the expedition boss and hunt bosses xp by 3x. again with the weapon nerfs and stuff your off your point on that one its subjective and many people have stated they dont want this game being warframe 2.0 where there is no challenge the weapons in warframe are fun but gets boring fast one shotting everything in your path and for any endgame to hold a challenge it just cant be the case for this game with planned raids and heroic hunts. That may not appeal to you but you dont have to like every single game either wayfinder taking the mmo approach to balancing isnt a bad idea at all especially where end game is concerned
@@BrozimeClearly im not on about the changes that happened after this video, i mean just go and look at some of the wayfinder content creators picking the video and reasonings apart dude, your normally on the mark but you seem out of touch come wayfinder
@@JokerBlecky I can’t be off point and it also be subjective. You’re unhappy I don’t think the game is in a great place and that’s fine but you aren’t going to convince me the game doesn’t have problems by just saying the problems I have with it aren’t real lol
@@Brozime sorry dude but you are off point go do some research, see what others are saying and then say your still right to say you wont play because they nerfed titans bane (heres a hint a few youtubers are setting records with it still)
I am fan of Warframe but when I detected: Early access game, not developed by DE, check gameplay review, looks like not influenced by anything from Warframe, not feel good or feel hype for anything from this game -> Did not waste my money for this. It turns out my decision is correct now.
"kinda of declining" is putting it mildly. On launch, it had about 25 000 peak concurrent players. Now it barely has 500. It's not declining, it's dead.
oof, if it's a dev problem then it's a ded game, when the devs are already planning around the players attempts to make the game fun and less dull or grindy, player morale will plummet. if you think about it, imagine in warframe when coptering was a thing and DE instead fixed the bug and continued to make warframe a slow movement game with health sponge enemies, yeah warframe would of died.
I'm in no way defending Wayfinder. But all my friends who tried warframe, I don't think they hit level 30 on their first frame in 20 hours of content. An experienced player and a beginner playing are vastly different beasts. That said, I would expect you to be able to figure out this game so that isn't a good analogy :)
The crap UI design / feel / function, and the imbuement system, make this game a total misery / chore to play.. I don't play games to feel miserable. I haven't logged on for months, just can't be arsed. You nailed the vid mate, I have no idea who's running the development of this game, whoever seems clueless about whats actually fun and interesting.
such a shame the game has a wonderful art style and the base combat system has promise but it feels kinda alpha, and I am not a fan of playing pre-generated characters I can deal with it in warframe to a degree but this game it feels off, could be due to the leveling and progression being very bad the aproch of nerf everting instead of buffing stuff up to be on par is the worst move companies take and so so many companies do this and its not for balance it is never for balance it is ALWAYS to slow players down, it is to keep players in the game as long as possible so they will go to in game stores more often. thats its thats the reason for mass nerfing it is the one and only reason any game does it, especialy if they have say exp bosters in it because crerate problem sell solution, and they get away with it because "oh well you dont have to pay for it" and "oh well you can earn it through play and get it free" enabling shitty practicies -.-
Early access game that isn't even close to done: "This game sucks, they have things to iron out, game is dead with current trajectory". Jesus Christ there should be a litmus test for who is allowed to buy into early access games.
Individual character identity is way too important for me. I was initially pretty hyped, but as soon as I saw the character/class structure I bowed out immediately. Big miss imo
One thing the devs says on the subreddit is that the early access is just that, early access. They don't plan to base the success of the game off the numbers or anything like that. They are going to work on the game based on the feedback given before the eventual f2p release
@@XBullitt16X That's the entire point of early access. It's meant to give the devs some funding so they can work out the issues of a game. Some games have warped the meaning of Early Access but it's not meant to be the full experience. Just a way to work with with the community as they work on the game.
@@TheTankyCrowbar No it's not entirely that. It's also to put funding on the table to keep developement afloat. And if said funding doesn't come, the future of this game isn't looking too bright. And what's the point of player feedback when there are no players?
@@42ZaphodB42 They already got a surge of initial funding. And they have a dedicated but small community of players still playing and providing feedback.
Well it's rather hard to fork on feedback, if there's no one to give it to you. So you'll listen to yourself. Which is the reason, why players left. This game made Agent 47 pround, by how quietly it got killed. No drama. No rants. No bombing. Players just stood up and left. That is genuenly impresive.
I have a lot of the same exact criticisms, but I really do believe in these devs and what they're going to do. I do hope they take player feedback though.
Hey also I amped up the volume of this video compared to what I usually do lemme know if it's good
It's good. I listen in my car, and I usually crank you up 10-15 points above everyone else. This time I left it alone.
Nice. I like to watch you while doing dishes, so having more volume is good.
I think it's good. Your normal volume level is always so low that I have to turn up my system volume a ton. Definitely an improvement for me.
Voice volume is great, intro volume is good but maybe one or two notches down? I don't think it's bad where it is now, it's just a touch louder than the rest of the video
Much better ty, normally struggke with your videos being a bit low volume, loving the content!
It's crazy that devs are so eager to punish the people that are willing to stick around find the fun before fixing the stuff that drove out the masses in the first place.
This video literally sounds like all the same stuff I heard about what happened to dia lo 4's nerfs and "balancing" issues
This is why I quit right here
That's some blizzard level bad inventory design. D4 got memed into oblivion for doing the same shit.
@@camolot2102 pretty much yes and its still in the game and performance is still shit when a squad of people with full inventories joins an open zone.
That's... alarming to hear. To say the least.
It has though? They tripled exp from bosses, increased exp from other sources, made world bosses spawn more often, reworked the echo system to be more like endo from Warframe, increased drop rates of rare stuff, wtf are you on???
@@Acemontthis guy doesn’t read patch notes apparently, don’t listen to then
@@TheLotusEaterUnveiled So, I do think the playerbase are kind of weirdly down on the XP values.
It's really not that hard to boost experience gain, for example.
hope lessons learned
How have they not been listening? Genuinely curious.
Same bro. first time bought highest level pack ever in a game. and they fked my trust
@@antonin2478😂
They haven't boosted xp gain, because the plan was always for that xp to also come from dailies, weeklies, and the xp scrolls that are not yet implemented. All planned to drop with the next update, as they've been pretty transparent about for a while
Worst part is. The first 2 weeks leveling was reasonable, cause repetable quests were bugged and xp scaled with sphere level which makes sense and dosent seem like a bug. But that got nerfed into the ground so hard it lost about 20X effectiveness and the devs just ignored the outcry to revert the nerf.
Lmao, i was literally thinking this has all the hallmarks of Outriders as well
This is why I like this channel.

You're right! This is exactly what happened to Outriders. So much wasted potential that one was. Nerf hammers come down before fixing the game first.
Ugh I remembered the nerfs. The whole idea of Outriders is how OP they were compared to everyone else, and yet, they nerfed everyone to doom, and it took forever to take down mobs. Plus the snipers...those freaking snipers
Wait wasn’t Outriders NOT supposed to be a live service game? They literally said that.
That's the definition of liveservice game
I understand some devs want to steer away from being categorizes as such, since many players think of live service games in a negative light, but not naming your game a live service even while it completely is and having like 3-4 vocal online simps yap about it will not change the fact. The game was a live service, and it failed not because it was a live service but because the devs were shite at balancing the game
I was rooting for this game in the playtests... but completely forgot about it after the launch drama. Thanks for the whole context!
And thats zones, not counting other quests (someting like 5 were just added) and Jobs (which might be the future daily/weekly, or just repeatables)
You can't go 2 missions without picking up Resonance items, which are some form of consumable XP that isn't implemented yet.
My stance is more of a annoyance at how they are handing as brozime put it
also its just plain not fun levelling characters and weapons at the same time cuz you are such a low power level you cant even farm something at the same time which makes it to " okay i gotta level wingrave with lets say arcstorm. both are level 1 so i can't put good ecos, i cant wear good accessories, so its just low level stuff that you need to run for literally hours.
I am not saying it should be 10 mins to level a wayfinder, but i personally dont have fun when my character is weaker in both cases and i need to do a dungeon that gives me nothing else but xp even then it is just such a low amount.
Also please tell me how hard is it to implement the wayfinder exp things when they did a whole patch with new content or tweak the experience gain"apart from buffing the bosses which gives really bad exp anyway and buffing minibosses which hardly mattered after the fact"
I cant really sit down and play and pretend these are not issues in the game, as i said im not making doom and gloom post it is just what they provided over after launch period.
I made it like 20 hours in before I just couldn't muster Wayfinder anymore (and that was before the apparent slew of nerfs which I didn't realise they did lol)
Felt like I was going crazy playing and getting super frustrated but its good to see that pretty much the issues for everyone are the same universally:
-This game expects and unreasonable amount of effort for an underwhelming amount of reward
-Throws arbitrary stats and numbers at you under the impression you're supposed to know what any of it means
-It Doesn't respect your time, has been going forward with a nerf mentality instead of addressing fundamental issues with game systems
-The entire Echoes system
Which sucks because the combat is a blast! It's just a shame and pretty worrying that the developers seemingly have no idea where they want to take this game yet.
They need to understand the difference between balance and literally sucking the fun out of everything
They had bad servers and got review bombed and called it gg.
Thanks, Brozime, about the volume. I had noticed yours were quieter than others.
I thought I was crazy, trying to level a character. Thought I must be doing something wrong.
The awful item management is what basically killed the game for me.
Ok but the real problem is that they gave this sword dude a sword so big it clips through the floor by default. That's just sloppy.
For me, the core reason I stopped playing was that the game was extremely laggy in my region. Overworld was always on NA and unless I play solo, instanced missions never seem to be on OCE so the game feels awful.
So this game got knee jerk reaction nerfed and they didn't think about what was actually issues
Farewell, wayfinder, I never knew what the f you were🤣
I will *NEVER* understand the nerf mentality of devs.
So when the devs take the stance of "Nerf first, see how the meta adjusts" you are more likely to see players close the game and say "Well, it was fun while it lasted."
I dunno why turning on the XP items that have accumulating in our inventories wasn't a priority after players started getting turned off by the XP.
@@Joe90h Well for what it's worth (no promises though) but they're gonna see if they add those to the game before season 2 and if they can't well, season 2 is a month away so either way we're getting them fairly soon, we'll also have job quests in s2 which are like dailies and weeklies.

I never got around to Wayfinder because there is so much that came out this year that I just didn't have the time. I was hoping it would become something cool eventually though.

After not being able to even try the game for like 2 weeks after the initial release, because of server issues, tried again like 2-3 weeks ago and I could play the tutorial and never being able to finish it lol
Everytime I got to the portal to finish it, I got send to the login screen. And I TRIED A LOT OF TIMES
That finished killing this game for me, it just gave me the strongest "incompetent devs" vibe ever.
So F that
They didn't even fix the problem with guns.
Way finder is a great game with great concepts but they messed up and I think we shouldn’t let it die just because of that
I love this game.

Any thoughts on XP buffs that recently dropped?
Their support sucks . Was told to go to support when I did not get my early non access server full compensation rewards on the first, only to be told our systems did not detect you were waiting in queue inspite of even showing the bill and review date
Their monetisation sucks like apex legends and the entire server is filled with its early access so it expected to not get access 😂😂.
The devs , support and community are full of quacks . Regretted the purchase and left
I love warframe but i dont see my self ever going back to a game like this in 2023
Well dang, I was actually looking forward to the F2P release next month. I'll still check it out but now my expectations are lower, I'll still check it out for myself but I will not be blindly buying anything before I try it myself.
LOL...Did you make a new video on the XP changes?
Who could have predicted this except everybody
a game where your manual attack has a tendency to fly in a direction you're not aiming at unless you disable a specific control setting you would never know about without a google search on Reddit/the community on the decline?
color me surprised...they still havent added item sorting for their convoluted mess of an inventory system
I feel like they put in a lot of systems and just scrapped it last second tbh.
why didn’t anyone see this coming LOL
Ok i thought i was going crazy trying to level my character and felt like i was getting nowhere.
i didn't even know this game was actually released
Oh hey that's the exact same thing that made me and my friends quit Darktide months ago.
And now with DE not involved... I'm glad I waited on jumping into EA, but super upset that it looks like Wayfinder is DoA.
Let me tell you, releasing to not all platforms is crazy in this day and age.
RIP
we'll see once it goes into open beta
I just started thisbgame last night so I havent sunk enough time to find all these flaws but im investing time hoping the experience gets better in the future.
I totally get that its early access too and that some of the stuff may never get fixed. I just really wamt to root for Airship Syndicate.
Is it easy to log in and play only because no one else is?
aaaaaaaaand its gone. RIP
The Wayfinder devs need to focus on keeping the game functional & fun first, because focusing on nerfs at the moment will only incentivize players not to login
actually, making more builds and itemas viable is very important for a game like this to be playable for more players. They did good with TB and Tempest nerf. It was based.
@deejay554 ok, but did they buff other weapons in addition to the nerf?
Is anyone surprised? I believe the same fate awaits soulframe.
Broz read my mind, I was watching videos about whether it was better now and boom I get the noti 😂
New "+300% xp" is it enough?
yes
You could be talking about taxes and I'd still listen.
Maybe it’s just me- but this game feels so fucking blocky. The combat with the daggers especially so.
I play on ps5 and It feels like I have terrible input lag at all times and I truly don’t get it.
Collecting shit and leveling it > endless grinding ... sounds like Warframe.
The options devs have:
1: Make all the other weapons and potential builds just as fun and engaging as the ones people are currently using and enjoying
2: Make all the best weapons and potential builds just as lame and boring as the ones people are currently not using or enjoying
Devs: "Ah, yes, clearly #2 is the superior option here, let's do that!"
Fingers crossed the recent fun additions don't get equally nerfed into the ground.
red flag when a new game decides to nerf things then looking at QoL things or bringing other in-parity items up to the 'should be nerfed' things.
I love this game and i agree with you especially the echo system needs a complete overhaul
Im srry but this game need way more time maybe fall 2024 season 4 or 5
That's a bummer.
Sad times.
I totally agree with everything you said in the video
Game is DoA. Ive said as much during the very first private beta. Game is bad and always has been
Definitely agree, game felt off even before I heard about any nerfs.
De would never pull out on a game that ppl invested in just cuz it stopped being profitable for just a few months
s2 they will activate the exp scrolls if they give trash exp yeah game will decline to grave s2 should start mid December
or beginning of next year
Wellp at least experience is fixed atm at least with the 300% buff to all exp gain.
I haven't heard of this game AT ALL, how long has this been a thing?
Not long enough for it to be a "thing" 😂 it will soon be like it didn't exist.
The thing is they wouldn't have had to nerf the weapons had they just fixed the stupid echo system and it's God forsaken stats
I bet most people commenting negative things here are already back to the game after patches lol
So game breaking bugs are very persistent and and the answers are nerfing the fun elements...how DE of them ...
Man it is a shame this game is kind of declining. I was genuinely interested to see what it could turn into. Sadge :/
"kinda of declining" is putting it mildly. On launch, it had about 25 000 peak concurrent players. Now it barely has 500. It's not declining, it's dead.
@@Warfoki Oof yeah that’s fucking tough
Good video. It saves me lots of time in not playing this game right now.
oof, if it's a dev problem then it's a ded game, when the devs are already planning around the players attempts to make the game fun and less dull or grindy, player morale will plummet.
if you think about it, imagine in warframe when coptering was a thing and DE instead fixed the bug and continued to make warframe a slow movement game with health sponge enemies, yeah warframe would of died.
Live service games... Never again. Literally every live service game takes something you worked dozens of hours on and makes it useless in an update.
Lazy way to make game 101
There's already a battle pass? Should these guys focus on fixing the game first?
Edit: going to see a new "Death of a Game" episode soon lol
The crap UI design / feel / function, and the imbuement system, make this game a total misery / chore to play.. I don't play games to feel miserable. I haven't logged on for months, just can't be arsed. You nailed the vid mate, I have no idea who's running the development of this game, whoever seems clueless about whats actually fun and interesting.
such a shame the game has a wonderful art style and the base combat system has promise but it feels kinda alpha, and I am not a fan of playing pre-generated characters I can deal with it in warframe to a degree but this game it feels off, could be due to the leveling and progression being very bad
the aproch of nerf everting instead of buffing stuff up to be on par is the worst move companies take and so so many companies do this and its not for balance it is never for balance it is ALWAYS to slow players down, it is to keep players in the game as long as possible so they will go to in game stores more often.
thats its thats the reason for mass nerfing it is the one and only reason any game does it, especialy if they have say exp bosters in it because crerate problem sell solution, and they get away with it because "oh well you dont have to pay for it" and "oh well you can earn it through play and get it free" enabling shitty practicies -.-
Early access game that isn't even close to done: "This game sucks, they have things to iron out, game is dead with current trajectory". Jesus Christ there should be a litmus test for who is allowed to buy into early access games.
Not what I said but I’m glad you’re enjoying the game so much as to be blind to problems
I played it during closed beta and thought it was awful
It was supposed to go out as F2P , and was released as early preview for money. So now they are closing it even before its actually going F2P ???
Individual character identity is way too important for me. I was initially pretty hyped, but as soon as I saw the character/class structure I bowed out immediately. Big miss imo
One thing the devs says on the subreddit is that the early access is just that, early access. They don't plan to base the success of the game off the numbers or anything like that. They are going to work on the game based on the feedback given before the eventual f2p release
Yeah that's dumb, sounds like this game will be dead, before "full" release.
I do hope they take player feedback though.
lol
