Use only hydraulic jack oil. Other fluids can wreck o rings and some do not have thickness to seal and lift. I raise it the arm to fill it then pump a few times then lower it after putting in the plug. Do not remove plug when arm is down or get a face full of jack oil.
Thank you, 30 seconds of reading saved me from watching a video that was wrong. You don't fill it when it's all the way down you fill it when it's all the way up.
I got a Duralast engine hoist that’s leak a little bit but I’m not sure what to put fluid it. What did you use or what should I use to put in the cherry picker?
Do these pumps leak normally? I just bought a used Pittsburgh lift and it lifts but it leaks at all the bottom seals. Should I look into replacing the seals?
@@PoormanscarGarage it will lift engine up half way easy then next pump it will go up an inch but drops back an inch & holds weight but won't go higher
So while the cylinder is resting I remove the bleeder, drain it, put it back and fill it until the hydraulic fluid is leaking out? Reminds me of doing a rear differential

Finally the answer I needed now it works thank you so much
Thank you so much. I am not sure why I have to do this on a new hoist though. The video was what I needed.
Glad it helped
Thanks I inherited one and I use it to help with my kayak loading.... had no idea how to fix it! Now I do!
Glad I could help!
Thanks, this helped me sort out a finicky secondhand engine hoist.
Glad it helped!
Thanks for making this. It was very helpful!
Shouldn't this be done with the long ram being fully extended?
No then it will spray out fluid when let down
@@jamespage6168 I found this out the hard way

Bro, you are a genius!
I did that on mine and it changed for the better a lot

I switched to engine oil, but by factory manual you should hydraulic jack oil
Mine will lift no problem but will slowly lower to the ground after half hour or so. Very slowly loses pressure. Feel like I’ve tried everything
I think its bad seals in your jack bud, same is here
It's that loose pressure.

its always like that, they all leak
Got mine today and pulled the motor it worked fine but went up really slow
How do you know when all air is out/when to stop pumping ?
Do you open the release valve all the way or just loosen it
just loosen it
Do you know how much oil it takes when you do the purge/refill?
I bought mine and discovered it doesnt go upwards all the way, is it fixable?
Thank you I gotta get this co-rolla out of my garage
Do you know if rubber grommets are sold separately?
I'm sure you can find it online
can you link to the 3d printed file for the knob you made??
Yes once I find it bud
@@PoormanscarGarage did you ever find it?
There are at least two on thingiverse. I searched engine hoist.
How do u know when to stop bleeding?
Nice! Thank you!!
You bet!
When I do the pump step oil gushes out if the fill hole. What am I doing wrong?
I did all that but it still won't lift all the way up any ideas
Not sure bud, might be that your cylnder is not good, and what do u mean all the way up? try doing it under load.
@@PoormanscarGarage it will lift engine up half way easy then next pump it will go up an inch but drops back an inch & holds weight but won't go higher
@@putrol4.2 u might need more fluid or could be that ur cylnder is leaking
Thank you , you got another sub 😁
thanks bady exellent vidio
You welcome
Thanks!

Put a tampon to stop the bleeding
You make a bunch and sell em.
Still not doing anything

yeah
