Making a New Character/250 Tibia Coin Experiment

- In this video, I conducted a little experiment. I wanted to see the impact of these new potions from the store. If a player bought these on a new server, would they even need to worry about waste? Would they be leagues ahead of players that had to profit to buy potions? How far can 250 Tibia Coins ($10) really get you? All of these questions were answered in the video. Enjoy!

Thats a really nice experiment! And I totally agree with you, it kills the thrill of a new server. I no longer have the time nor the patience to start in a brand-new servers, but i could see why people enjoyed it. Now with those new potions from the store it looks just silly, basically a who-has-more coins to sink competition.

Nah when there were bots you could get a bot to level 100 pretty fast. I used to mass bot and botted Mount Sternum ALOT

Anyhow i would love to see several Spawns checked out by you:
1. War Golems in Yalahar. Hunted 1x at a time with E-Walls or 3x with thunderstorms.
2. Lizard Chosen with Avalanches for Profit.
3. POI DLs with avas.
4. Goroma Demons for the Task
5. Edron Vamps
6. Anything for Mages between 120 and 150 ;)

hint for PG at spike dude - don't do -2 with gfb too many zombies - go to -1 with avalanche - from level 30 it's about 4 levels an hour

Great video!! I understand this is for a fresh server but I cant help but think about on established servers, Where 250 coins is roughly 10 mil on the market, Thats enough to PG to 60-80+ I would imagine
Recently started a new server with a friend and i honestly thought about doing this. After seeing you do this test I probably wont do it unless they open a Retro hardcore pvp server.
Yeah, it's not worth the money on an established server (coins are worth like 5-15k each), but if you're looking for an edge on a new world you pretty much have to buy coins now or everyone will be way ahead of you.
Which just leads us to pray for the retro hardcore, because you know every high lever is going to either kill you to stop you from killing them OR become free exp.

I was hoping this was Osera, so i could say hey mate. I did the exact same thing back when Osera was released, and so did lot of my current friends there, because the tibia coins were super cheap back then, so it was cheaper to buy potions with tibia coins than buying them with the NPCS. The tibia coins in Osera are currently worth 1.4k so it's still quite profitable to play here for players who have their main characters on other servers. I'm curious on how quick you can go from lvl 2 to 100 though, that would be an interesting video.
I'm kinda interested in doing that sort of thing, just leveled my sorcerer from 33 to 70 in basically 4 days using in-game cash, I wonder if I can pull something like 1-80 using only tibia coins

Tibia is so nostalgic to me. My brother used to make Tibia private servers and host it just for me, him and my other bro. He was a darn good coder for his age. (I reckon he was only about 15 years old at the time). I seriously wish I could start playing this game again, but I reckon it's too difficult. It just seems very cryptic.

Have not played tibia since 8.7 and started on 7.2. It is crazy how much the game has changed but unfortunately I feel like it has gone the wrong direction. Lots of competition and they need to make money, low level grinding, early progression, and "P2W" system feels bad. Great video anyways, always fun to see where old games have moved on to.
I quit a little after the move speed nerf on high levels. Didn't like the cool down update but the. That happened... Lol

I was the same way. I was level 30 for like my first 8 years, then I got 30-70 pretty fast and have been going up ever since. But it still took me 2 years to get from 200-250 lol.

You should make tutorials for new players explaining how to get to certain hunting locations its really hard to find certain spots as a new comer and would be so nice if there were also tutorials for addons as some can be really tricky :/ thank you :)

I created a new character on a a server where the tibia coins costs from 1.2 - 1.5k. It's actually the same price to buy potions from store than with npcs!

Damn I'm pretty surprised at both how good you are at hunting (even with non-offline trained char) and how BAAAAAAD I am at hunting :( been trying to hunt The Spike with my lvl40~ sorc but keep dying because I'm still inexperienced at running around the area and not getting hit a lot. I've lost like 6+ level in this past weekend!! Making them up along the way. I just hunt the Liberty Bay Gargoyle spawn instead its a lot easier
The Meriana cave is definitely a lot more forgiving for good experience. Don't worry about it though, I've been playing Tibia for over 13 years now and I've got a Razer Naga and all that jazz. I've also created so many noob characters over the years to PK with or just level them super fast; they're my specialty.
Eric / Psykik Yea a good mouse would be nice but whats killing me is that my laptop's keyboard doesnt have numpad so i cant diag while playing on client. Cant get used to browser either xD
use autohotkey to rebind ur wasd for movement, and also qezc for diag
I think one of the best video/guides you can do is making a guide to pay premium acount from gp asap.
Pay for premium one or two months to level up a paladin to get the money to keep paying premium acount.

100% agree these coins ruin the thrill of new servers. Wow, new server! Can't wait to compete and see how this world slowly grows! Wait really? Your telling me committed players are just going to use tibia coins to buy wands and get up to magic lvl 60 without ever even hunting and band together to dominate the server with the advantage of trading real life currency for magic lvls? Oh.
I use these coins too, but there are definitely certain aspects to them that cipsoft made a business decision to tradeoff for profit. Funera would have been so much more fun if i didn't feel so left behind because my decision to not invest real life money in it besides maintaining premium and making the occasional purchase of coins to sell for gold to avoid the awful nature of farming.

On a new server it's cheaper to actually buy potions with coins than to buy them with gold. On Xylana coins were 500-1k each, and were even still 1.5k a couple of weeks ago. You would even save gold by buying coins with gold and using them to buy potions that way than to buy straight from the mana shop with gold. Also, you are incorrect, coins are HOT on a new server. Everyone buys them. Lots of people(including myself) playing it casually made enough gold there to buy massive amounts of coins to just transfer to another world. The problem was though, bots took over to the point that the servers were/are 90% bots at this point, because making even just 2-5k an hour there = making 20-50k/hr on any other server by buying/moving coins.

I start on xylana with 500 tc. But i was doing profit all the time, and from money from exp i bought more coins then i used. Cause i exp 40-80 nibelor crystal spiders... When i reach 105 lvl i was hunting on glooth bandits and was doing 1k+ coins per full pg night. Cause coin prize was 1k ea. In 1,5 month i done like 15k coins on xylana. So exp with tc on new server is usefull but on other servers better idea is sell this coins cause much potions,rune will be from money from coins then from store ;p.

You'll definitely make some good money doing that. For your RP: pretty much any Dragon spawn would be great in addition to Mutated Humans, Cyclops, Tarantulas, Coryms...
at lvl 20 it's really easy to rush RP on mutated humans/banuta apes using throwing stars (just drag a bp full of those)
you should do an experiment of the most efficient way of buying 250 tibiacoins via market being free account

Hunting coryms as a knight would be profitable once you get enough skills.

i have been wondering about how to train a pally, knight.. i heard that the new dogs that they put in place of the old target dummys are good way to train if u use fire sword/fire arrows.. can u make a review on that maybe? thx man, great job!

My first thought of the title was actually just the opposite of what you did, I thought you were going to Osera to show what you did to get your first 250 coins buying them off the market off a new server.

Alternatively what might be neat would be to use a free account or a fresh off the island character to get your first 25/250 coins. Maybe we could figure out some kind of community event to make from it. Regulating it would possibly be difficult, though it might be fun.

Better off with training offline for 2 weeks or so with a pally then grinding stone refiners which gets you to lv60 in 4 or so days, granted your a bit behind by this point however your shield & distance would be very high & you'd made quite the nest egg for supplies. However if you play during that time you reach lv100 in two weeks easy just on this spawn in venore. from here you do feyrist weak maws/silencer enfeebles which would get you to lv130 easy over the next 2 weeks total lv130 in 1 month with an ungodly amount of profit, from here only those 250 tibia coins would go well into premmy time & you'd earned an easy 250-500tibia coins worth in profit. another 2 weeks your lv150 & about to destroy most spawns but I doubt the proper amulets had hit the market yet, so nothing other than garlic,protection amulets & dragons/energy10% since these are super common place, I'll just continue to lv200 on weak maws/enfeebles just because theres no better equips this early on server. Getting 500 charm pts for say dodge or 2000 for low blow would be great.
And I've played for 12 days and I'm still lvl 37 with my sorc u.u I think am a bit char lover and I love the profit areas I got 200k training.

I'm not sure what to think of this, sure it ruins new servers, but at the same time in already existing servers you can start by yourself and be pretty independant :)
maybe potions should be "blocked" in the tibia coin store for the first couple of months each time a new server comes out, but I don't even think cip does these kinds of guessings/calculations and they just assume players won't "waste" so much money buying potions this way
True, but it's much better to sell the coins and buy potions on established servers. I doubt Cipsoft would block potions on new servers; they're a goldmine of profit every time a new server comes out.

How do you use HKS for gfbs, mouse to click it, and run same the time? Seems like you need 3 hands for it.

Paladins will always profit even at low levels, and the profit goes up as you get stronger and hunt better stuff. Knights are alright for profit, and can make tons teamhunting. If you're a solo player though, go with paladin.

You have to purchase them through either a reseller, gift card, or bank transfer. Personally, I use Subway gift cards.

I really like your movies but I like to react to one statement you made in this movie: Tibia coins take the thrill out of new server, if you dont buy coins you can keep up with the other. I dont agree with this because Ive started every new server and every time there is a mage that has 10+ bot accounts making money for him so he can pg on the mage.. So again botting is the problem not coins.
Very true, bots are the #1 thing that should be taken care of to solve most major problems.

8 hours of exp is nothing. Back in the day those lvls as a mage took waaay so much longer to grind
The lvls meant more though, the entire game was played much more slowly by everyone (you had to play slower then).

It was just an idea if a new server was to come out (coins would be worth like 500 gp or something since nobody has money). I'm not actually going to buy more coins. And on Dolera 250 coins are only worth 1.2kk :P

to bad the game is full of bots and the bot users dominate the server spawns, there ain't no greater mmo than tibia imo.
the game economy is just fucked up, these botters farm gold, spend their money on pots and just go get lvl as crazy without worring with the efficiency, which is all about the game was before bots.
i tried to play the game the right way but i just couldnt, being pked by lvl 300+ for staying in the early caves for quest made me sad, cipsoft want this way anyway, otherwise they would lose their players rsrs
