Loved the pacific theatre ever since Aces over the Pacific in 1992 and of course Il2 Pacific fighters. They're the only sims with a wide range of aircraft and campaign modes so would be great to see a modern sim with those boxes ticked.

I'm really excited to see what comes of this new sim! The Pacific theater is so under represented, there is a lot of areas they can be the leader in quite easily.

I cannot wait! I’ve been playing Il2 a lot lately, and can only imagine flying in the pacific. I still need to get into rise of flight though, as I’ve yet to try it

I still remember pacific strike, and I loved the fact you can talk to the cook, and other people on the ship, i hope the new game will have some characters :D
I'm missing this kind of fluff in modern flight sims. While we're at it: Strike Commander's squad management also was awesome.

When I was younger I researched the pacific theater quite a bit and wanted to buy Pacific Fighters when it came out… but my parents wouldn’t let me. I play War Thunder but would like to get into sims, very interested in this! Thanks for sharing

If you like War Thunder and want to get into sims, then give IL2 Great Battles a try. It's on sale often and easier to get into than DCS.
I struggled with dyslexia growing up and used the manual of combat flight sim Pacific to learn to read. It actually worked!!
@@WatchMyshdo you need a flight stick for that? I just have a mouse and keyboard for the time being
@@svgproductions72 Do you have a gamepad? I mean there are people out there playing even DCS with mouse and keyboard. It's doable... But is it enjoyable? I'm not sure.

YEEEEEEEEEEEEESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FINALLLLLLLLLLLY !!!!!!! OOOOOH BOY, dude i first learnt to land a plane in f6f-5 hellcat on an american flat top at around age 11 yrs old in bad weather i played pacific fighters for decades after on and off....i can't wait to see this in a modern engine, my father found a setting in config files for the A.I after changing it......i've still to this day not seen A.I as good as pacific fighters, i bullshit you not, i watched my father in the f6f-5 hellcat chasing a Zero at just above tree top level.....do you know what this mad lad Zero pilot did.....he tried to pull a the world war 2 equivalent of cobra maneuver, he pulled up so hard on stick and kicked the rudder in he went to sorta flat spin around the yaw axis for like two revolutions to dodge the incoming fire from my father hellcat and the A.I Zero pilot very.....so very nearly pulled it out of the quick spin he did but at last second couldn't and crashed into the tree.......my jaw frigging dropped, the A.I was capable of that and being varied enough in their skill level they could make mistakes.....don't think Il-2 great battles has that good of A.I, they better improve it.
Better AI would suit IL2 and DCS well ...
My beef with the current run of IL2 is that it feels slow, which is how the CFS series always felt to me and how I got into IL2 / Pacific Fighters / 1946. I'm really hoping that this is reproduced in a similar fashion as the early series. 1942 timeframe would allow for Guadalcanal, Aleutians, and Midway. Maybe even early Philippines, but if it to be Wildcats vs Zeroes then prolly not so much that one. I did love my P-40 though :-)

I want to pilot a Dauntless or Val dive bomber not fly a Zero or Wildcat. I hope the strike aircraft will be flyable, and not just the fighters.
