Currently, waterfront sites & dog friendly sites - additional cost per night!
• Sites 1-85 for tents, vans, pop-up campers & trailers shorter than 16’.
• Sites 86-236 are accommodate all camping units.
• All sites have water/ electric hook-up (30-50 amp service), picnic table & charcoal grill.
• Dump stations, modern restrooms with showers, laundry facilities
• Wi-Fi at Camp Store & Office
• Pets are permitted in Area 2 only (sites 86-164).
• Dog park - Please review dog park rules. Fort De Soto has the only dog park where dogs are allowed on the beach in a designated area. There are also 2 fenced-in areas near the beach for large & small dogs with water stations (beach entrance is at the far southwest corner of dog park).
• Electric carts are allowed on campground premises only.
• Campground Store: Hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 8 a.m to 7 p.m. Friday through Saturday. The store has implemented social distancing practices. For information, call (727) 866-9191.
• No alcohol allowed!
Check-in time is after 1 p.m. Checkout time is 11 a.m.
The front gate entrance is locked from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. Please obtain the combination when you check in.

The sites are mostly narrow, but long.
Just know they charge extra for dog Loop and water sites.
But we definitely want to come back

Thank you for the awesome and very recent video of Ft DeSoto! I got lucky for the 2nd time and found a site in area 1 for solo camping this coming Father's Day weekend :) That's a cool campground and North beach is so nice too.

WE LOVE THIS PARK! Live 1.5 hours away but it is difficult to get into! Easier since we both retired, but still hard to get a good spot!
If you are residents of that county, you can book 1 month before everyone else.

We have been to this park but did not camp here. Came down for a visit with some friends when we considered moving to The Villages. Spent the day here. The park is really nice. We enjoy our time. The sites look really nice. I remember the wildlife and trails being very nice as well. Looks like nice a nice bath house to. Overall a nice clean park with plenty to do and not far from the city either. If I remember right don't you have to pay to go over a bridge to get there? I might be thinking of another park. Nice review.
There is a toll. 3. But it was worth it. I actually don’t mind paying extra for this county park.
We are at our second “must see” state park that I wouldn’t go back to.

Me dicen que hay problemas con ratas y mapaches … voy de camping por 3 días .. 👀
They do have raccoon traps. Just keep doors closed. And don’t leave food outside or trash
