- One of the reasons we are full time RVers is to experience more. And Florida State Parks and their campgrounds (like Anastasia in St. Augustine) provide natural settings, large campground sites, and plenty to do in the campground or nearby.
This video will show you every single site, plus the amenities, we also show you all the activities available- like canoeing, biking, hiking, beach walking, sunsets- as well as glimpses at the most popular tourist spots near the campground. We also throw in a few tips throughout the campground tour. Stay until the end for all the fun.
Walking or biking distance from the beach, canoe or kayak rentals and launch site, campground stores, all these coupled with its proximity to the St. Augustine Lighthouse with its 219 steps to the top with an amazing panoramic view and Marine Museum, the unique National Monument- Castillo de san Marcos, along the water, and the historic St. Augustine with its history, shops, and food, makes this one of our favorite Florida State Park Campgrounds.

The video was very helpful! I love it as is. I forwarded through the site by site until i got to our reserved spot and then went on to see the parts depicting bathrooms and then local sites to visit. I liked how you showed the sections with their sites. The hanging branches would be a concern for us. Does management help you find a site with proper clearance?
You have to go onto reserve America and click on each site to find its measurements. Other park maps will let you know the size. But the hanging limbs should be fixed.
You can only switch if there is something else available. But you really are on your own.

There are apps that charge, but it’s for a lot more and different info and has a lot more campgrounds. But not with every site shown.

We greatly enjoy the site by site. The site numbers along with the chapters with actual loop names help to decode the 4 character codes on the reservation site.
It was also helpful to know that all sites had water/electric and no sewers, and to see the 3 lane dump station.
We’re planning a couple months next winter and this park is on the list!

It’s a beautiful campground - you can the ocean at night.
It’s a long walk or a short bike to the beach.
Also, the lighthouse is very close and biking ton the fort and historic downtown is much better than trying to find parking.

Do you book this state park 11 months in advance?
We don’t plan that far in advance most of the time - though we are booked for the holidays for next year to be near our kids. We constantly check for cancellations,

Debbie, this was my first time at the campground. But I’ve been to St. Augustine many times. The area is beautiful. I do love my lighthouses. And the park was amazing too. But hard to get more than a few days. We were lucky to get 14 in a row in one spot.

Loved the tour of the campsites and main focal points at the camp. Pointing out the main tourist attractions surrounding the area was all I needed as I do my own research. I feel a 2 part video would be fantastic. It might help eliminate less personally interesting sites for some people. Great job on this video. Look forward to others like this. Happy camping!

Love your campground tour! It shows the sites well, but it's also a good view of the road & helpful ahead of time to view the ease or difficulty backing in. It's good to see park amenities and area attractions, too. A second video to show the attractions in more detail would be nice, but one video is fine.

Hi from Maine. First time finding you, new sub. Great video! Loved how well you introduced us to the park. Our first trip in our camper was to Florida. Purchased it in December, shoveled it out in April, packed her up and head to the Keys. It was quite a shake down trip. Loved it. Our fist state park was Anastasia. We left Anastasia and went straight to Curry Hammock State Park, Marathon Key. We have also stayed at Fort De Soto near St. Petersburg. All three are beautiful! I did a lot of searching on TH-cam for campground information/videos. Wish I had found videos like yours then. Great Job you Two!! PS loved the Vanna White Pose at the sign. Thanks Again. You have been to some great state parks. I don’t know the one near Fort De Soto. We haven’t been that way yet. Next time you come down, make sure to visit some of the parks with springs. They are some of my favorites.

Camped at this park a good bit as a kid! Now I’m taking my boyfriend there for a much needed vacation. He wanted to know what the place was like and this video was perfect! Great video for a beautiful camp 😁

It’s a great campground. Make sure to go see the fort, lighthouse and St. Augustine downtown.

Thanks for this, headed here on Monday for 3 days. Just a little beaching, biking, eating, photography and shopping this time, I told the hubby, no kayaks and no fishing!! There are plenty of other state parks for that.
You will love it. So much to see downtown, too.

Now this looks like a very nice park. The kayak rental place is very neat to. Love all the birds. That was my favorite part of FL. I love them sites. Like how deep they are back in. Plus you get a ton of privacy. Bath house looks nice and clean as well. Plus a very good size. The sites look pretty wide to for most of them. I think we will be back in FL for our next winter after this trip is over. Larry was that lady waving at you? Hey saw your kids. Loved the turtle. That was really cool. Get out in those waters Larry. You can do it. Like the light house. That would be a Jessica thing. The Fort is a me thing. I like that. Nice looking town to. I could do me some drinking down there. lol I like the site by site. I do like the thought of breaking them up. We have talked about that though. lol I am glad Larry made it through another video with no injuries. lol Great stuff y'all.
William, yes. Florida has a lot of birds. And this was a great campsite. Yep. We got the kids to come visit. We usually can if it’s a state park. I saw a lady wave too 😂. I hope you do come to Florida next winter. I made Larry go in the water. Anything for TH-cam. I actually loved all the touristy things. I wish we had more time there. We are still torn about combo vs part 1 and 2 vids 🤔 Great hearing from you. Geeks weird we won’t see you for awhile. Larry didn’t hit his head but there are a few new cuts on his fingers.

Great video thanks for sharing the information it’s great value. We like to see a second part of the amenities on the campground. Stay safe and healthy and hope see you on the road on 2021. We plan to retire next year and start our journey.
