My mom spent the late 70s and early 80s in Hollywood every weekend... I know this because I was asleep outside in the car ...just before sunrise she would come out and we would drive home to Manhattan beach .. x was her favorite band.. it's all she played at home.
The man behind the guitar, what a joy. Saw X in Bellingham Washington at a WWU cafeteria after the release of More Fun In The New World, hardly anyone there but they rocked their asses off. Thanks BZ, an original forever
OMG!!! That was awesome!!!🤯There's nothing better than having a legendary guitarist sharing stories while having cocktails at a bar!!! Thanks Spike!!! That was cool!!! 🤟🎸😎🗿🍹🤙
And YES I watched Part 2 X is One Of My Favorite Bands I Loved This Episode With All The Backstories On Their Gigs & Clubs, This Was Great Spike i Really Loved Part 1 & 2 The Interviews On Your Show They Are Great!! I Love The Breezeway Cocktail Hour :)
Laughing now because I was at that Hootenanny, in the audience. Lux slashed his tights with one of Ivy's high heels during the set, and I don't think he anticipated how much the fabric, once it wasn't being pulled taut, would shrink. Pretty sure he also drank out her her shoe during that show too. I actually ended up with heatstroke at that show and parts are pretty fuzzy lol. The audience got an eyefull lol.
Pearl Jams Still,not a Big Deal 4 Me,nah!Still dont UnderStand This!Ha!My Outlook,Though!Love X!Ever Since 81 on The Wild West Days on the East Coast,on MtV!The WolF!Yeah!Take care BiLLy ZooM!Jcsx
I think I saw you at the Whisky, around late 1970's. With Black Flag. or have you played with Sid Vicious? The Whisky was soo wild at that time. The Rainbow was cool too.
I’ve seen many of the “greats” in damn near every genre, including many “guitarist’s guitarists”. If rock ‘n’ roll is about snotty riffs, lightning fills and full-throttle solos, than I’d be hard-pressed to think of a better guitarist. Christ, the “True Love Pt. 2” riff alone manages to be snotty, in-your-face and slinky all at the same time…nice trick. Too bad it’s in service of such a silly song.
Billy Zoom Zoom....What a Cool Dude.

you're lucky that the Los Angeles county sheriff's department didn't find you in that car unattended & your mom changed with child abandonment.
X is so awesome, I love the fact that Billy is no nonsense t-shirt and jeans kind of fellow.
Billy Zoom is a legend beyond the hosts ignorance. Found him through Gene Vincent, Cochran, X, Blasters as a teen. LEGEND!
Fun video. Glad Billy came back to tour and I got to see him many times before the band says their final goodbye.

Great interview!
The cramps !!!!!😍🤘🏻
I could watch about 3 hours of this
Spike, I can't thank you enough for these videos. Look forward to them every week!!!
Rob In The 805 thanks for saying so. I'm glad that you enjoy them.
Thank you for part two of this time with Billy Zoom.
Saw both cramps and X separate times in Tijuana at Iguanas...what a ride...walk across the border etc...
What a rad place to see those bands!

So lucky, doing rad graphics and hanging with an absolute legend
Greatest episode ever, better than part one. Sooo good, and Spike your shirt is killer.
Awesome conversation. Great video spike!

Bring back Mom for part 2, please. Thank you.
'Pearl Jam's a big deal to a lot of people.' So is X.
Billy has a great point about The Cramps "trying to be weird". Both Lux and Ivy were former hippies who got into punk as a "art thing".

Ive been a fan of X since 1980 and wish i knew the meaning of the numbers.
Thanks for memories!

Do I spy one of my Mug Shelves on your wall, still made it into your rebuild? excellent!
Lance Cox yup! 👍🏼
I think I was at that Hootenanny!!! X, Cramps and Buck Owens. Lux got naked during his set. That story... 🤣🤣🤣
Sonny Soto hahhaahhaa
Billy Zoom is fucking hilarious
I seen X in a dive in Tucson, the place was an oven and Billy was too cool to even sweat.

I feel the same way about Pearl Jam.
