Thanks for the fantastic documentary which has a special meaning for me because I was born in Shanghai a few years after World War II and had lived near to the Jewish areas. My overseas-Chinese father had gone from British Malaya to study in Shanghai where he met and married my mother (a Cantonese with the surname Ho). My father worked for a telephone company in Shanghai before we left in 1956. In a world where there's so much senseless hatred for fellow humans, Dr Ho Feng Shan still shines as a beacon of hope, and I take pride (as a former resident of Shanghai) that the people of Shanghai also had compassion despite their own immense suffering.
My mother, aunt, and grandparents fled Berlin to Shanghai. This really hits me hard!
I was born and raised in Hongkew, Shanghai. I am now living in San Francisco. We should never forget the bitter history.
After several years of interest in Jewish history, one thing I have learned that sticks out the most is the amazing resilience of the European Jews. No matter where they went- there was never a shortage of their culture, arts, faith and most of all their bravery.
Fascinating part of the Jewish history. Thank G-d for the Shanghai people.
Wonderful and informative documentary. One can learn so much from this as very little was known of the Shanghai Jewish community.

The crimes and cruelties committed against my sons and daughters, my fathers and mothers, my brothers and sisters hurt me deeply.
In Isaiah 2: 4, Jehovah God, the Creator and Source of life, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, promises:
"He will be judge among the nations and will settle matters in relation to many peoples. They will turn their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning shears. The nations will no longer raise their swords against each other and learn no more to wage war."
My immediate neighbors are Jews and I am a Jehovah's Witness.
Their hearts are superior than pure gold by far. They are extremely kind.
The gentleman takes care of my trash can every Wednesday without my asking him to do so. They are lovely human beings, and they are not in need of the smallest improvement.
The Prophet Isaiah prophetized the 1st coming of Christ Jesus at least 400 years before He came on earth as God
Christ Jesus is Life - He is Spirit of Life in the heart of the believers.

@@elisabethdakak878 Matthew 3: 16, 17 states that that God said that Jesus was his son:
"After being baptized, Jesus immediately came up from the water; and look! the heavens were opened up, and he saw God’s spirit descending like a dove and coming upon him. Look! Also, a voice from the heavens said: “This is my Son, the beloved, whom I have approved.”
God said that Jesus was his son. The disciples of Jesus said the he was the son and not the father, Matthew 16:14 - 16:
"When he had come into the region of Caesarea Philippi, Jesus asked his disciples: “Who are men saying the Son of man is?” 14 They said: “Some say John the Baptist, others Elijah, and still others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” He said to them: “You, though, who do you say I am?” Simon Peter answered: “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” In response Jesus said to him: “Happy you are, Simon son of Jonah, because flesh and blood did not reveal it to you, but my Father in the heavens did."
I sure hope we have learned out lesson. However, it seems we have short memories as antisemitism is back on the rise.
...and it's only gonna get worse once all the survivors have passed on.
