    I flew Premium Economy with Delta for the first time in May '23 from AMS to JFK. I thought the seat was very comfortable, cushion was better than economy and the recline was pretty generous. Even the footrest was comfortable (I'm 6'4") if you manually push it down. So the seat and legroom was definitely worth the money. The service however was not as good. We weren't served pre-departure drinks and were only handed a bottle of water after sitting thirsty for over 1 full hour (tarmac traffic jam, then finally got water after takeoff). Economy was served earlier than Premium Economy. Power outlets didn't work. Delta now promises an even better experience but after seeing this video, I don't think anything actually changed. Still, I will fly Premium Select again on my next Delta flight! To me, it's worth it.

      There is no need to complain about another person being served food before you are!! That's not what you are paying for! That complaint sounds British

      @@georgemburu4177 He did not complain about another person being served before himself. He complained of the entire economy section being served before the people that pay extra should get. These are a great upgrade but once the person in front of you puts the seat back to nap the whole flight, it’s definitely as tight getting in and out as economy. I recommend sitting in the very front of Premium Select to prevent this.

      Yeah but bulkhead sucks because you cant fully stretch your legs. Bulkhead seats in Comfort+ have more space than those in Premium Economy

    • @ajs11201
      @ajs11201 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@jaydawg2023 Agreed--I've never been a fan of bulkhead seats. And although it probably isn't a problem, I don't like the last row either because I'm always fearful that I'll sacrifice some of my own reclining abilities due to the bulkhead behind. I prefer the middle row, even though the seat in front of me can recline into my space.

    I'll be flying Delta's Premium Select from Berlin to JFK next summer. I'm looking forward to it. I was able to get one of those rare bookings that based on timing of the booking along with partner discounts my PS seat is the same cost as a main cabin ticket. At that price, it's a no-brainer that I'll be flying PS even if only getting a softer seat with more leg room. But for sure I wouldn't be paying hundreds or thousands of extra dollars to make the upgrade.

    I recently flew from NYC to Tokyo (Haneda) on a 'Delta Premium Select' seat. And sure, while it had multiple levels of 'recline', and the overall seat was capable of going down to a 'low recline' (not exactly 'flat'), I did not find the seat comfortable at all for sleeping (and this was even while using the extra 'pad' they provided, over the entire seat). The angle of the 'sleeping level' recline not only was NOT comfortable, but...the more I set the seat to the recline/sleeping level, the more that the lower half of my torso (feet, shins and most of my thighs) was pushed forward, and into what was more or less a boxed-in area that was under the seat of the person seated in front of me. Honestly, as I watched my lower torso being pushed forward into this boxed-in area, I felt as if the lower half of my body were being put into a coffin. Once I was in that position, the 'roof' of that boxed-in area was maybe 6" over the tops of my legs, and the two sides of the boxed-in area meant that I couldn't move my legs very much, to the right or to the left. And keep in mind, in this position, almost my entire lower torso was in this 'box'.
    As someone who is severely claustrophobic, it was not pleasant at all. Also consider that...I am only 5'2" and weigh 105 lbs. Imagine how much tighter this area would feel for a larger person?! I have to say, I was very disappointed, considering that I paid extra money and miles for this seat, and, in the end, I don't feel it provided all that much of a better experience, vs if I had a simple coach seat. And in fact, as I was walking back and forth throughout the plane (to exercise my legs), I observed countless people in coach who were stretched out, sleeping, over three seats. Now as to whether they purchased three consecutive seats, or simply were able to use the seats (because no one else had purchased those seats), I don't know. But I had to wonder if I had been foolish to pay all that extra money, and use all those miles, for the Premium Select 'upgrade'.
    Also, while the Premium Select seats were more or less 'private' seats surrounded by private cubicle-like walls, I could have foregone the extra privacy. It really was meaningless to me. The most important thing I was looking for was a seat that was comfortable enough to sleep in. And in this respect, the Premium Select seat did NOT deliver for me.
    Next time, I may try Delta One, even though that means even MORE money/miles.

      good review , yah visually it doesn't look much of an improvement for the extra price you pay. I didn't know that one person could purchase two or three seats in economy if they wanted too. how do you do that buy two tickets under one name?

    Had 2 flights from MIA to MNL and back in Delta's premium in 2019 and 2022. First time was great, food, plating and such. Second time, not so much. Food was pretty awful to and from MNL. I think the worst part of the seating as mentioned is trying to get up if the forward seat is reclined. If I do use that service again I'll make sure to book bulkhead. After all I'm not a six footer. On another occasion, I flew Korean air in coach. I had a better experience. Leg room was ample enough to cross leg. Although with less seat pitch. The food was far superior. Thats my 2 cents.

Staff is now constantly coming around offering drinks and snacks throughout the flight (even in economy), and is now extremely attentive. The first delta flight I took was absolutely unprofessional and disgusting, with an outdated plane and air hostesses who were busy gossiping during every meal and drinks service. DL Premium economy can compete with European and maybe Asian carriers as far as hard product. But the soft product, the meals especially, are simply economy class meals with a very slightly upgraded presentation. This has been a consistent failing for this DL product for some years. I doubt it will improve. The moderately better seat may be worth a few hundred $/£ extra but certainly not more than that.
