- Afghanistan's economy has suffered since the Taliban took over in 2021 with some sectors collapsing altogether.
But the country's businesses are still finding ways to stay afloat, despite significant banking restrictions.
Al Jazeera’s Osama Bin Javaid has been meeting business owners in the city of Herat, Afghanistan.

I come from an area where Pine are the only income for most of the families. Still there is problems with finding a stable market inside the country.
I don’t understand this reporter’ hypocrisy. They are saying the Afghan export has decreased. So what was the export before and what is it now? Then why was Afganistan getting all sort of money from different countries? They couldn’t support themselves? And now no help is coming but the government support itself.
How many killed since Taliban takeover? Afghanistan has become more secure country than many of its neighbours and particularly than south american countries. Democracy is a suit but it does not fit to everyone. Singapore, China, South Korea and Middle East became developed countries under singly party system or dictatorship.
