      This is the very dilemma I’m having right now is Rel is closing out the 1205 v1s at $449.99 each and was thinking of getting 4 like you have. But you and Nemo both really like the newer versions.

      @jglaserbot At the price, you can get the older model now,they are an absolute steal. The new model is an improvement, but you can't ignore the bargain price of the old model. You will be knocked out with four of the old models.

      You replaced 4 HT1205 MKi with 2 MKII’s? How did that go with output? I have a pair of MKi’s now and contemplating getting the 1510 and sticking with the 12 MKI’s to have 3 total. Though I can get 2 1205 MKII’s for the price of a single 1510, though I am not sure I will notice much of a difference. My room is 20x15

    I've just got one and it's fantastic I had a Rel q250e I think years ago and it's much better. However the gloss finish is daft for people with projection systems and light controlled rooms as it's reflective properties are quite distracting and many will end up covering the gloss with something less reflective. Great video and so true. I've owned RELs since the Stadium III. They have been so far ahead of anything I've heard anything that comes close compared to competition during their production and changes. I still have the Stadium III in Cherry and am looking for a match for one of my systems. They always make everything sound better and not just bass and no thumper but visceral.

    Guys don't even hesitate for even blind buy, i sold my svs sb 1000 pro and got that one blind buy (only watched this review). Sb 1000 pro was great entry level subwoofer for music but THIS is next or 2 levels higher. Movies? no problem and dont be fooled that this is sealed not ported. On half volume on the sub this bad boy will give u what u need at least in small room like mine 11m2. The bass quality and start stop behavior is unreal, one thing i noticed that REL dont bleed on mid range like svs. Even if my svs was cut off on 100 hz with 18db slope i was able to hear a little lower mid range from svs? Now i got crossover on REL about 110-120hz because my main speakers have weak bass and it sonds great no mid range bleed !!! In Poland svs sb 1000 pro and this REL got 300$ diffrience in price (i can see on amazon US is same ). Is it worth 900$? YES,YES and YES !!!! I use it with KEF q100 and NAD 326 BEE amp but cannot wait to get new bookshelfs and fire up them with this sub !!! @NemoPropaganda recommends "on a budget" at least for EDM Dynaudio emmit 10 or Polk R100 (or emmit 20 and r200 a little bigger).

    As I asked you before, I will do it again with this sub. :-)
    I'm still evaluating the different options to buy a pair and I think Rythmik's closer competitors for the HT1205 MkII could be the L12 at around $650 and the F12-400 at around $880.
    Besides their different specs and connection options, how would you describe the differences in SQ between the HT1205 MkII and these Rythimic subs?
    I'm not sure if you have tried the F12-400, but maybe you can share with us the differences with the L12.
    Thank you!!!

    • @NemoPropaganda

      it's been a long time now since I've heard the L12, I believe the two would be fairly competative with eachother in terms of SQ. As far as the F12-400 I have not heard it, all i can tell you is my F12SE is an upgrade compared to the 1205 MK2.

    Hi Nemo, awesome review!! I have 2 x HT 1205 MK1 that were in a home theatre set up but decided to use them in a 2 channel setup in another room. Now I am looking at purchasing another 2 subwoofers. My dilemma is, should I purchase 2 x HT1205 MK11 for my home theatre room and keep the MK1's for the 2 channel setup or purchase the HT1003 MK11 for the 2 channel setup and move the HT1205 MK1's back into the theatre room?

    • @NemoPropaganda
      @NemoPropaganda  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      no way I can help with that brother, both options are good, it just comes down to which system you want to upgrade. personally I'm more of a music customer so I'd upgrade the stereo room first but that's just me. You may prefer adding the 1205 MK2 pair to the theater first, you can always sell your 1205 MK1 pair later to fund an upgrade for the stereo. You have many options :)

    Great review! I have two RSL Speedwoofer 10s and am thinking about test driving two of the RELs. I like the Speedwoofers quite a bit, but am wondering if the difference in quality will be worth the extra bucks. I understand that there is no substitute for personal experience, but I'm pretty sure you have an opinion on this. My media consumption is 75% movies (uncompressed on disc) and 25% music (mp3s). I have three Magnat Cinema Ultra 100-THX for my LCR, which I love, but they only play down to 80Hz. So, a great subwoofer is important. Thanks!

    • @NemoPropaganda
      @NemoPropaganda  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      the 1205 mk2 is gonna give you quicker transients and more nuance detail in the bass region, it's up to you if that's worth the trade off & higher price. The RSL 10s being vented will have more force down low and more raw output.

    Can you stack these subs? Also I’m trying to decide on either 2 of the REL 1205 mkII, one of RELs 1510 predator II, or one KEF KF92. It’s for a system that’s 50/50 on music and home theater. My budget is around $2000, what sub would you recommend?

    • @NemoPropaganda
      @NemoPropaganda  ปีที่แล้ว

      You can stack the 1510 yes but not the 1205. As far as the KEF vs the 1510 here is a comparison from my Discord: The KF92 is always going to come down to this: if it's output is sufficient for the room it's hard to find a better theater sub regardless of the size. If the output is not sufficient then generally speaking nearly anything larger will be preferable. The 1510 is substantially larger and should have considerably more headroom at all frequencies as well as a larger sense of scale. As far as musical performance I'm actually going to give a slight edge to the REL 1510 as it's leading edges are a little more well defined while the KF92 has more of a softness to its leading edges. Lastly the 1510 has a bit of a heavier tone to it while the KF92 has a slightly lighter tone by direct comparison. If KF92 is between SPL & SQ the 1510 is just a hair over towards the SPL side only due to it's heavier presentation. All other aspects of the 1510 are very SQ. Worth considering is the KF92 employs active DSP meaning as output increases frequency roll off becomes more aggressive while the REL 1510 will be more consistent at higher volumes. Both subs perform well at lower volumes so you certainly can shove a 1510 in a smaller room or a larger room where as KF92 is really for lower volumes or smaller rooms. Hope this helps.

    • @NemoPropaganda
      @NemoPropaganda  ปีที่แล้ว

      that happened to me one time with my JL D110 and it turned out to be a bad RCA cable so definately rule out the possibility of a cable or the amp being the issue, after that you gotta contact REL or the dealer for service if it really is the sub.

Do you think this will be a worthwhile upgrade for my 2-channel music system? And what cables do you recommend for a 40’ cable run from preamp to subwoofer? the svs sb1000 pro is my favorite svs subwoofer and I think its really fantastic. The 1205 has a slightly larger cabinet and is a little quicker with its transient resposne so it should sound cleaner in the music system. • @NemoPropaganda
      @NemoPropaganda  ปีที่แล้ว

      I like both subs a lot but I do not feel the 1205 MK2 is an upgrade over the L12 or vice versa, they do sound a little different with the L12 sounding warmer while the 1205 MK2 sounds more dry by direct comparison but they both produce high quality bass and the L12 actually has a bit more extension in it. This is a situation where going manufacturer direct really does save you a few dollars.

    • @NemoPropaganda
      @NemoPropaganda  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The 1205 MK1 takes an edge with better speed/fidelity and the RSL will play louder and have more authority down low. Both are really great options at their current prices. I think you will be happy with either one give each is priced very well for what it brings to the table. Personally I'd take the 1205 MK1 because I don't need the output of the RSL and would rather have a bit better transient response of the seaeld sub.

      the SB3000 has a more aggressive & heavy tone to it plus that extra inch means it can play louder which makes it killer for movies while the 1205 MK2 has a lighter tone, quicker transients, and better handeling of delicate passages. My question is I have been originally saving up for the HT1510 as I have a really big space 44’x14’ w/ 7.5’ ceilings. I currently have $1000 saved and so I’m wondering with the fantastic pricing on the 1205 v1s could I get away with a pair of them or more to fill my room. @@NemoPropaganda Hello,
      I am consider to buy a REL S/510 and connect it just for LFE next to the mains, wont connect it to higl level because mains are power towers with built in subs.
      the question is, this S510 that goes down to 20hz it will blend fine with the T5X that goes down to 32hz and that i have for LFE and high level for surround speakers? Or going for a HT1205 MK2 would be enough?
      This S510 and T5X are same brand and same technology. The HT1510 doesnt fit for the space that i have between the right speaker and tv cabient, S510 and Ht1205 does.
      Thanks again.

      @@juanbuenestado6355 You can mix & match any REL subwoofers together, it's just up to you to decide which one you want handeling the LFE and how much you want to spend :). They are all good, of course the more expensive ones are nicer but that's always the case so I think the real question you must ask yourself is how much money you would like to spend and then pick S510 or 1205 once you have your budget. Personally I feel the economy is not good right now for most people, I think saving is the smart choice, the responsible decision is the 1205 MK2 but if you have a lot of extra cash then that's another story.
