Thank you for you honest evaluation, I was thinking that they could use an extra 150 plus horse power. I test drove one and it had what I wanted just not fast at all and the small fuel tank where can you go off the beaten path with just 20 gallons. Great review.
There's a big difference in weight between Mercedes Sprinter 4x4 and a Revel. My neighbor has an un-modified Sprinter 4x4 high-roof 144 with a vehicle weight is ~5000 lbs. My 2022 Revel comes in at 7190 lbs. The neighbors Sprinter is much quicker off the line. I'm trying to come up with some solutions for reducing weight. Might go with carbon fiber cabinet doors and custom milled cabinets (drillium!)... or I could just buy the chip. Thanks for your review/test.
Not sure if my headphones are wonky, but it sounded like it struggled less on the second climb for sure. And those 4-5ish mph faster would add up on a flat stretch I imagine. Siri needs a glass of wine, she'd probably change her mind less & relax more...
This was very helpful. I’ve been wanting to figure out how to pull two horses behind one of these things. They are sure enough more comfortable to travel in than a double cab pick up.
Renntech is the top Mercedes-Benz tuner and aftermarket parts to upgrade. Your not gonna really notice the hp but you will notice the torque. What about the diesel model I remember watching another TH-camrs sprinter and he added a larger fuel tank
Along with the tuner I'd definitely do a cold air intake/filter upgrade, and exhaust. That'll probably net you another 15HP at least, wouldn't it? Maybe even more like 40 HP. Plus it would sound awesome :)
It probably already has cold air induction and there are better cleanable, dry filter options these days than the oiled K&N. Probably the next best mod after a tuner is a free flowing exhaust that still meets the emission requirements.
I own quite few of them in last 15 years , don't go to dealer , find good local shop, maintenance is key .... I currently have 2020 and two 2016 ,2016 have 350k miles .... I put almost 600k miles on my first sprinter ...... original engine and transmission with very few breakdowns .....
A word of caution: I purchased a RennTech Tune Mapping Module from Owl and it made my Sprinter's acceleration MUCH worse. It was as though the turbo kicked much later; so, no off the acceleration. Worse, the van would get stuck on the slightest incline, unable to get going. The tune also negatively impacted hill decent via downshifting, causing the Sprinter to rev, then not rev sporadically (forcing me to ride the brakes) . Both issues have gone away since I uninstalled the tune. Owl WILL NOT ACCEPT RETURNS ON THIS ITEM. They directed me to RennTech, who haven't been all that responsive IMHO. I'll update this comment as I learn more, but wanted to share w/ others if they are considering this tune
I bought a tuning for my Sprinter but it didn't work. I tried to contact them and let them know, they tried to find excuses of different things for me to try. I did all of it but still did not work. I wanted to send it back but they refuse to take it back. I spent $1,500 for an item that doesn't work. Do not buy from them!
Dodge vans haven’t impressed me in years. Ford products have been a proven work horse in my career. But with that said I haven’t used a van in 4 years hopefully they haven’t changed much in the pony performance.
GREAT STUFF
Great video Jason love it 🥰
Your such a natural making videos.

Glad I could help
its not about hp , if you towing you need torque

Your right and she was scared
I'm interested in knowing where the name Mendota Ranch originated from? I grew up in a small town, Mendota, Illinois.
The ranch HQ is located were the town of Mendota TX was. The guy that started the town was from Mendota Illinois.

I'm looking at towing a trailer (3900lbs dry weight, w/ the Sprinter's 5000lbs limit) will this affect the manufacturers warranty?

You can sure fill the torque and I have seen bigger fuel tanks. It should come with a 40 gal tank

I sold it. Gave up😁
Just send all the way!
Add a cold air box, K&N type filter.
Thanks will do

Check to make sure an air box upgrade really is.
I don't know about your van, but some of the air box "upgrades" just aren't.

Interesting.
Are you stuck on the MB Sprinter,, What about a Ram Van?
We are Ram fans, but I haven't seen 4WD.
Promaster is front wheel driver ... not so good for towing
Asking for my nephew what do you sell a 3 or 4 year old ranch mare for.
That all Depends on the mare

Never been to Texas Looks beautiful! What a cool Van!
I love it!
I hope nothing breaks on the van. Mercedes parts are expensive!
The Abrahams have a shit ton of money.

That stinks. We sold ours.
@@themendotaranch I thought they were locked to the VIN number as when you buy them from Owl vans? Do they work on other Sprinters?

I hated that van, no power at all and you are towing
I don't hate the van.
