    Loved your reaction video to Happy Gilmore Addie !!! Fun Fact: Christopher McDonald's character as "Shooter McGavin" is seen as one of the most iconic in the game of golf. As of after the release of this movie, Christopher McDonald would appear on a golf course & to this day HAS NEVER PAID A COURSE FEE TO PLAY GOLF !!! The reason would be because the golfers who paid for McDonald's course fee could say "I played a round of golf with Shooter McGavin !!!" Keep it going !!! 🏒

    Fun reaction, Addie. Happy Gilmore (1996) is my all-time favorite Adam Sandler movie. The funniest scenes for me were when he was in the batting cage getting hit with baseballs, when he was yelling at the golf ball and ultimately cursing at the AT&T Invitational, causing the TV to bleep uncontrollably, and my personal favorite, when he fought Bob Barker at the Pepsi Pro-Am and said to him, "The Price is Wrong, B**ch!".

    Happy's fight with Bob Barker is both classic AND epic. The movie's writers tried to think of a celebrity for Happy to fight, and his name jus t kind of came up. Everybody loved the idea, but thought there was just no way they could get Bob on board. Bob himself was unsure, but agreed in the end - on condition that HE won the fight.
    As it happens, Bob has been a keen martial arts enthusiast for most of his life. So it turned out to be pretty much ALL Bob in that fight scene. The only real work his stunt double got was in the rolling down the hill part.

  • @timingenkamp3973
    @timingenkamp3973 ปีที่แล้ว +76

      @@TheScribe1.0 Not at all... I first learned he was a black belt when he was being interviewed by 20/20 or 60 minutes on a milestone anniversary as host of the price is right. In the interview it showed him dressed in a gi with a black belt kicking the crap out of a heavy bag, and for a man who was in his early 70's his kicks had substantial power and speed to them. Chuck Norris was his next door neighbor for decades and the two were very close friends. He is still alive at age 99, and to reach that age he'd had to have taken care of himself.

Had to wait for an ambulance to get back on set each time to continue shooting. And the subway for lunch and dinner every day got old fast lol. The hotel they rented for staff was in a horrible part of town and most of us had to switch hotels to sleep safely then can to the original hotel for the bus to the set every morning. A lot of people don't realize but pre-American Pie 90s were still pretty wild. Comedies were usually PG-13 rather than Seth Rogen R, but they pushed that rating to its limits. Everything was raunchy and juvenile. It wasn't just Adam Sandler. This is pre-Wedding Singer Adam Sandler, so he's still playing kind of an angry, bipolar guy. Wedding Singer was the first time we got a real, adult character out of him. At this point, he's fitting right in with 90s comedy that was dominated by Jim Carrey. Reign Over Me is still my favourite Adam Sandler movie, followed by Spanglish and Wedding Singer, but this is nostalgic for me, like Ace Ventura. I'm not going to pretend it's a Jerry Lewis classic, but I still get a kick out of it - and the random appearance by Carl Weathers, AKA Apollo Creed from the Rocky movies.

    ... Watching Bob Barker kick Sandler's arse was fun.
    One of Sandler's less well known movies is Airheads (1994). Sandler is one of three co-leads (Sandler, Brendan Fraser, and Steve Buscemi). None of them look like they normally do. A local rock band (our three heroes) are so desperate to get their demo tape played they accidentally hijack a local radio station. The cast is stellar.

    I saw this for the first time at a matinee showing with one of my college roommates. We smoked a joint then went inside - there were only two other people there, two other young dudes (who were also probably high). The four of us were all rolling laughing.

    Childhood favorite movie. I use to be able to say the first 15 minutes word for word I watch it so much. When dvds came out people knew how much I loved it I got three copies on dvd one year for a birthday. Classic

    I know it's just an Adam Sandler comedy where ridiculous things happen constantly, but there is NO WAY they would force Shooter to hit a ball off a patron's foot or not rope off the tower that got hit by the car. Also, Shooter's logic that Happy has to play the ball as it lies because "I had to hit it off of Frankenstein's fat foot" doesn't really apply because he hit his ball ONTO Mr. Larson's foot, whereas the tower blocking Happy's shot was due to the negligence of the pro tour's security.

    Glad you liked this one so much. :) Seeing how much you disliked Shooter was so funny, with the way you would boo him when he took his shots.
    I know you've seen Predator but the other big Carl Weathers movie you should watch is Rocky. And since you've started watching James Bond movies, Happy's old boss, Mr Larson, is played by Richard Kiel, whose most famous role was in The Spy Who Loved Me from 1977.

    I've been subscribed to your channel for a while now, and I really enjoy your reactions. This one though is easily my new favorite. Something about how invested you got and how much joy it brought you just cheered me up to no end. Or to put it another more silly way, seeing how happy Happy made you made me happy.
