It’s immature, ugly and embarrassing. I’d rather clean toilets for a living than behave like that. I’m a reseller, my son is as well. We are plenty successful, and never act like fools like all these people did.
Very true. I wish all resellers would come to a common respect with one another and the sale owners as well. However, there’s always going to be those few who want to have the upper hand over others, so it’s really difficult to be 100% respectful of the sale & actually get some good finds at the same time. Very unfortunate.

I have sold on eBay since 1998. So I have seen a lot of crazy stuff at yard sales, goodwills, and estate sales. I get people do this full time, but this is what gives resellers a bad name. People don’t respect other people and are all about themselves. Sad.
Exactly. Straight vultures. Rule #1 is don’t ever reach into grab something that someone else is looking at.
They already failed at being decent resellers lining up at 7:45 am for a 8 am start time. And that emailing thing to snipe the goods? The whole enterprise is based on vulture practices. Personally, I think reselling is one of the least dignified professions a person can choose. Like, what public good are these people serving? Making sure eBay and Amazon earn an extra 11% on sales? Gross.

Right. I was just at yardsale lady had wireless GameCube controller without the other part. They wanted $20 and this guy managed to talk her into giving it away because she didnt know if it worked or not. They can go for $90.
She either didn't know or didn't care about what she had. Someone said it was her late husband's stuff. Even still, if she had THAT much she should have gotten an expert opinion before selling! She probably left hundreds if not thousands of dollars on the table.

I'm pretty sure she just lost her husband...which is why she didn't care to make the most profit from all this.
if shes sellng the house shes gonna make 500k and to research and sell piece by piece is not worth her headache. Judeging by her age time is of the essence. I've been to an estate where the owner sat upstairs, took one last look at his belongings, closed his window shades and everyone outside took everything for free.

Imagine if she didn't post pictures of what was there: It might not have been as insane. Resellers and gamers probably drive over 100 miles just to get their hands on stuff.
That sale was absolutely insane, never seen anything like that. 50/50 isn't quite fair when you have two people and he only has one, unless you got two picks to his one of the total haul. thanks for sharing.

Wow!!! I love watching your videos because you aren’t a greedy mine, mine, mine guy. Letting one man trade some of the games with you and letting the man at the end take the whole box of stuff was great to see. You didn’t have to do that. Giving the woman wine and dog treats was heartwarming. Love that you did this!!!

Wow I applaud you for your patience, my blood was boiling just watching the way that guy acted.
This is just ridiculous. That’s why I got out of the video game collecting area. Not worth dealing with so many resellers, collectors and jerks. Not saying you’re a jerk or anything as you are one of the few good resellers on TH-cam. But locally here it’s a complete guessing game of what sales to go to first and if video games are advertised in a sale, they go instantly.
Right I will buy if I find it but Im glad its not my sole area. Think that's why its so crazy so many just buy video games.

It really is hit or miss with video games. However it does feel really good to get lucky and pick through games when you’re the only one at a sale
I miss the days when most video games were worthless. These days, it’s always a fierce competition with the resellers.
I do resell but I am a collector first. This would have been both a treasure chest and a nightmare. The way people were grabbing it reminded me of fish at a feeding frenzy. Especially these days because I can't move around like I used to. Just a shame that seller just didn't do private sales and then yard sale the left overs. I think it would have benefited her in the long run. Thanks for posting this because regardless, this is just incredible.
What a crazy 3 days. I bet she was absolutely exhausted each day. Fair play to her for not selling at exorbitant rates. Also, respect to you for owning up to your misdeeds. Hopefully the other guy will do the same and you can go back to being just regular competitors. Love your videos 🐈😺🐈⬛

That kind of behavior is reason I no longer source from Garage Sales. The idea of getting up early, fighting and stressing just to make a few hundred dollars not worth it anymore. Was asked to go to this sale and figured this would be what would happen... Done living the life of a shark and being a whale. :D

I've legit gotten the runs b4 going out to sales I know I'm ho have competition so I made up my mind to of course love buying games but so much other good stuff to resell. Most these guts will leave behind a $200 item if it's not a game.
You can still source good items later just not video games. I remember going to one sale where someone just a minute before me bought a bunch of ps2 games. I looked around and found a gps for $10 that sold for $150 and a bunch of service repair manuals that one which sold for over $100. Video games don’t always have the best margins and everyone wants them learn other categories and you’ll be fine.

Collecting retro games was much more fun and chill back in the pre-pandemic days before the retro price boom, .
I was at a sale like that once, and it was super stressful. Some of the people were pretty cool, others were literally taking stuff out of your hand. I will never do that again.

The seller should of just auctioned the stuff. This behavior is appalling! These weren't the last video games on earth. The seller should of handled this differently,I'm shocked no one was hurt and that nobody threw down.

It was her late husband’s collection. He passed away from Covid. She did not expect this.

Reminded me of going to the Goodwill Outlet (Good Cents Bins) before and a couple of women were grabbing arms full of clothing and throwing them into their carts without sorting through them at all. They were grabbing everything they could possibly grab. LOL. 😁 I stood back watching one women next to me and then I started piling the clothes on her arms for her. She just looked at me like I was the crazy one for helping her!! 😁 People are greedy. Everyone wants a deal BUT.
Lol Hell yeah! I do the same-they try grabbing the item out of my hand and sometimes I just shove it in their hand with a push towards their chest so they can feel like it was just a must have! Im 125 lbs and these people think they can push me around-But NO!💪😎

This is why I prefer to find deals at pawn shops or flea markets because usually don’t have to deal with other people piling up next to you trying to get what you want
I gotta say the nastiest encounters at yard sales I have ever had were at sales that had quantities of video games - No respect for who was there first or truth telling. Its almost like they are made of solid gold. Definitely easier and more civil buying at auctions but very pricey that way.

Happens everywhere unfortunately. Happened at a local library Book sale. People acting like animals grabbing everything and shoving it in big boxes, duffel bags etc, left early .

I've seen similar behavior at book sales on bag day. I remember watching one db literally scooping armful after armful of books into a bag, dropping it off with his wife near the entrance then coming back with more empty bags. Guy just plowed right past people who were looking at stuff.

If I had a garage sale I would joke around and ask casually if they were resellers. If they said yes, before the sale I would tell them to get off my property.
Continuing the story, the reseller leaves and they are unfazed. They go spend their money elsewhere and make profit off of what they buy.

This is the reason I completely changed my business plan. People can really suck. I only garbage pick and recently have been doing a downsizing/house clean out for people that Are moving. I get everything for free. I do live in an affluent neighborhood. But only do this for fun. I have a great full time job. But I really make a lot of money doing this. I also donate a lot of stuff and give to friends. I actually have people asking me to look for things for them. Have texted pics if I find something at the curb. I wait until they either show up to pick it up. Or let me know they are passing.

While everyone is talking about the behavior I probably would have done the same. I've wanted to start a video game collection so something like this would have been a dream. I would have just gone scooping things up to try and get as much as I could
As a mother of three children four years and younger bringing my children with me to garage sales and trying to pick out items to sell can get frustrating when other people are able to quickly find the good items before I'm able to get to them. I went to one garage sale advertising video games. Never again, not worth it. Plenty of obscure items people look over to make money on.

Painful to watch. How did she not expect a feeding frenzy? Glad you put a positive spin on it. I stopped going to garage sales for quite some time because they hadn't been fun (people here show up days prior, or early like 6:30 for the sale that doesn't start until 10.
