My thought is that calling this asmr is a disservice to this channel. It's so unique, and, to me, it's much more relaxing than the typical braindead mic scratching.
If you don't mind non-whispery science fiction and scientific speculation, look into John Micheal godier and event horizon.

So I just had a spooky thought. What if the reason there is entropy in the Universe, the reason that everything is expanding and losing energy is because there is a type 5 civilization outside of our universe that is harnessing the energy of our universe for whatever their needs are? So they manipulate our universe into expansion which radiates energy which they use in their universe machine. Incidentally, this expansion also creates the forward motion of "time" within our universe. So, while it's sanctimonious to say, in effect, these type 5 mechanics (probably just entry level researchers in their space) are effectively our gods. And of course, as beings of a type 5 civilization, they would have god-like technology and powers, they could teleport, cure almost any disease, cure "aging" making them more or less immortal, and manipulate matter and energy as easily as we would make a phone call. Not to mention, they would not be bound by 3 dimensions plus time, which sort of makes them omnipotent and all-knowing as well, as they could easily see the paths each being and planetary object is on and going.
Vulpeculae the fact that you thought about this just blew my mind because i was starting to think something similar. but of course, i cant actually think this exist unless i somehow see it. even then i dont know if i could grasp the situations gravity.

Seems more likely than Jesus rising from the dead! Ha Another interesting theory is eternal return, which says the universe will keep expanding until it collapses, explodes in another big bang, and the entire Universe relives its existence again.

Just found your channel and absolutely love how you’ve woven together astrophysics/science/etc., into an ASMR experience. For a while I was listening to Neil DeGrasse Tyson, in order to fall asleep, the same book over and over again, but then it wore off because I knew it too well. I’m looking forward to watching all of your videos. It will take a while since I fall asleep pretty quickly. Thanks for your great channel!

There's actually a hypothetical type 4 and 5 civilization possible too (which physicists say is impossible and likely no civilization can ever even come close to harnessing such godlike powers)
Type 4: would be a universal civilization and could use the power of our own universe and do things like traverse space and time and other things we can't even imagine or fathom. Pretty much anything you can think of they can do in mere seconds (within our universe)
TYPE 5: A hypothetical entitys/supercivilization (i refuse to call them civilization because at this point they are literally supernatural and gods) would literally be able to control collections of universes. These godlike entities would be outside our universe in the multiverse and would adapt to multiple other universes and there different physics, matter and dimensions (assuming all that would even exist in other universes and wouldnt be some completely different magical/alien elements) these entities would be so powerful that even the things you can't imagine they are doing. Also they probably don't live in any universe but just live in the multiverse which you can say is outside space and possibly time (hard to imagine i know)
If you wanna get even more crazier and superhypothetical at this point imagine a TYPE 6 which literally could create universes and reside outside THE MULTIVERSE itself.
Then you can imagine a TYPE 7 which is so powerful they have already met/found GOD. Somewhere in the omniverse. LOL okay i took this way to far my brains gonna explode. Of course after the 3rd type of civilization this all becomes super impossible to even imagine. Hows your brain doing?

It's weird that they used the Turians as an example for level 2, because the Turians still eat food if I recall correctly. What does it mean by 'harnessing the energy'? Does it mean that the organisms or machines get their power from stars? Interesting stuff...
That would make more sense! I don't know exactly what powers the Reapers but I wouldn't be surprised if it was star based :)
All food is either produced directly from solar energy (plant photosynthesis) or indirectly (animals eat the plants then we eat the animals), so eating food does count as harnessing the energy of a star. Not much of the energy, but it is something.
I was just looking at it in a more literal sense. For example, a species would be able to directly harness the energy of the star as an energy/food source, but your comment makes sense.
