Thanks for posting this interview and Q&A! Very informative, and entertaining! Received this gorgeous package about 10 days ago! Marvellous! In my mind, this will definitely break out into the more general solo game community! As my brain refuses to easily absorb a rule book easily, regardless of how well written, I tend to lean on posted TH-cam videos of folks running through short play throughs. I don’t want to totally spoil that ‘first morning coffee taste’ of a game, but I’m such a bonehead, rule sets can rattle my cranium! I’ve recently noticed GMT ‘title reviews and how to play’ videos inveigling their way onto mainstream TH-cam board game channels! This is awesome, and bodes well for a broader appeal for games that lean hard into the wargame genre. Kudos to Mr. Raicer, and the whole GMT team! P.S. so cool to hear Father & Daughter playing together - I’ll have to drag Junior into a playthrough!
I loved hearing Ted's insights on the complexities of events and people within history. How one small thing could easily change everything. I think seeing a system around people who ultimately failed in their endeavors could be really fascinating. Would love to see a game like this around Benedict Arnold, perhaps.
Great interview! Got 2 sessions under my belt. I was immediately thinking about Hamilton. Fighting in the revolutionary war, practicing law and becoming delegate to the constitutional convention, the federalist papers, his time as Secretary and all the conflicts with Jefferson and Madison, and even the time after. I think it would work really well
Honestly I feel blessed I could watch this interview. So many interesting details and info! Looking forward to the sequel! Personally, my favorite part was around 28:00 onwards when you started talking about alternative historical scenarios possibly integrated into an expansion. I think this is an element that might see more exploration in wargaming design. Like, imagine Adolph succeeded in Sea Lion and conquered Great Britain, and then the Allies conduct a D-Day to establish a beachhead on the British shores. Just an idea. Oh well... I might end up designing something like that in the future, who knows...
Very interesting to see where this system could go as a series. This could easily turn into 15 different awesome solitaire games like a states of siege sort of thing.
woo hoo, on Ardwulf's Lair the chit show last night, now Ted is on GMT! this rocks and I, Napoleon is now on order from GMT because of it. thanks so much for another great chat. also, is that a teepee behind luke????? also, Gene throw the expansions on this up on P500, I would like more more more more of this.

Great interview, GMT. Ted has always been one of my favorite designers. I'm eagerly awaiting my copy of I, Napoleon!
Played I, Napoleon about three times now and uploading my 4th. Very engaging!
