Happy 15 year channelversary! You guys do amazing things that go beyond opal cutting, you brighten everyone's day and help many through hard times. Love you guys 💖
15 YEARS! Surely we are not that old! But I guess since Saxon is no longer a kid, it's been a minute. I've thoroughly enjoyed the education in opal adventures, lapidary and laughter. ONWARD!
Been watching/learning for 10 years, but I think I've watched all 15 years of shows ;]....remembering your ol basement, very calming and relaxing and part of my geology journey. Thanks a big bunch for the joy.....also from Georgian Bay, Canada Love how so often you turn the rough opal into beautiful gems....cheers
In the last video, those earrings were stunning! This cutting the colors is vivid and stunningly beautiful as well! Justin, you are a master opal cutter! Catch you on the next. ✌️ 😊
Your eye-opening opal journey is heard across the ocean, even here in the U.S. I am not sure if I am allowed mentioning it (delete this comment is necessary), but Carol's Opal Obsession is a lady here in the U.S. who really encourages us, here in the States, to embrace Australian opals.
Hearty Greetings Tamika and Justin from Georgian Bay Ontario! Can't wait to see what gorgeous gem you fashion today! :-) MQH Been a fan and watching your channel about 3 years or so Justin and share with family and fiends in AUssie and NZ and here in Canada. You guys ROCK! :-)
Greetings and congratulations to the 15 years on YT BOD! ❤🎉 Good things take time to grow, just like opals, dear Justin with family and crew! I have been watching your videos from Sweden for some years now, and the beauty of opals and opal cutting mesmerized me and I get happy when I watch you or Saxon work and bring out the very best and magic in them! Big hugs to you all, 👋♥️👍!
15 Years!? Holy Dooley! 3 years viewing here, Outback Opal Hunters is how I discovered your channel. What's his name from the 'The Young Guns' gave you credit and I've been watching ever since. Always a joy to watch a master doing their thing. An absolute wealth of knowledge your happy to share, greatly appreciated and your beautiful spirit. PS, Recently realised your a local also, I'm about 3 hours north of the Goldie (if that's your actual location lol) Looking forward to the training on offer. Peace !!
Hey Justin. If you use a 10 or 12 bit camera, all those rainbows will truly shine. 8 bit is like a TV camera and TV. Bit rates higher than that give more in highlights and shadows, but more importantly a broader range of colours. True Yellows and Purples, with rich Orange and Teal. Perhaps a Blackmagic camera with a "Macro" lens. In 8 bit, singular colors "pop" and surrounding blended colours don't. Remember it is Red/Blue/Green for all sensors. With higher color depth all the "in between" colours are exposed. A true rainbow appears.
I tell you something brother , if I go to Australia , I would prefer to see first the Landscapes , flora , and fauna. I don’t know why , but I love the continent so much , that gold and opals to me , would be tertiary , because the second thing I would love to do is , to know the people and the history of the country .
It's a good thing Justin is cutting this stone and not me. I'd have tried to save the whole thing and ended up losing it all to broken, sparkly gravel in the bottom of the slicer.
I would love to see the large stones, but for some reason, the tiny bitsy ones have more colour play. Justin, check and see if the new regulations are not affecting your phone. You might have to upgrade to the latest update.
Absolutely mesmerizing, the complexity of that stone and all the difficult choices that have to be made pulled in all my attention, and that is a difficult thing to do! The results were wonderful, and I really hope you never, ever make the first bit into a more traditional shape, because the shape it does have invites handling to catch the ligtht from absolutely every angle.
You really have to get in the habit of slicing off pieces that you are used to grinding off. There was amazing color on two areas of that initial half, that you just ground away because it had unusable backsides. If you see no value in pieces like that, I promise you, your viewers do, and would appreciate you saving such pieces. Have a raffle drawing for each little cut off and we'd gladly pay shipping. Waiting a few seconds in your video while you slice additional pieces off is well worth the trade off for a chance at color we normally will never be able to work with ourselves.
I couldn't make the live show, but I've been watching your channel for 7 years. Congrats on 15 years!

Wonderful vidio
@Black opal direct , please remember to set your video quality for 1080 p HD please 👍😁
And yet an apology. Horse fang farrier early. Foot farrier ahead of time. I give up making plans! I tried and failed. Doing catch up tonight..😢
I'd say NO! To the cactus juice but a little Sambuca in the coffee helps!!
Muito bonito ❤

Qhy did you want to cut the tip?
Its basically a perfect tooth shape for a neclace.
Why should everyone want an oval stone?
It looks good as it is!
Dang it. Left my phone at home to go to the store. An hour late.
