I know they have been in many many video games before. But imagine if now if using their stories and back grounds of critical roll all the voices by them. Narrated Matt, being loomed over by Matt, with witty comments and descriptions of your or your party’s demise.
Jennifer Hale is a voice acting God... Bastila in KotOR, Commander Shepard in Mass Effect, Blackwidow in the 90's Spiderman... A true legend

I die laughing every time Matt says something and they repeat word for word in character
its actually quite important to do that for roleplaying, so while i agree with you its silly to watch, its something more people should copy.
All of them have experience doing that professionally. It’s probably second nature for them to do it.
I love how committed Liam is to his accent throughout this whole episode. Even when helping Jennifer or asking the DM a question.

Is no one going to point out how Matt put in the work to make classic WoW spells into DnD spells? Power Word Shield, Hammer of Justice, Light of the Naaru, Frost Nova! Awesome job haha, so much flavour.
D&D has similar spell effects under different names, and homebrewing spells (especially for one shots) isn't as difficult as it first seems. But you're right, still adds that nice extra flavor to the game.
Fun fact, most of those are spells are from a home brew dnd game. Most of Warcraft is.

I love in the normal CritRole when he reigns in the think-she' -good Marisha with wisdom apparently Keyleth will never possess.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see him roll up a Halfling Wizard or something SUPER anti-Grog for the next campaign.

Everyone was amazing (as always), but I just love Taliesin's quiet role playing style. Never hogs the spotlight, barely ever gets it really, yet makes his character super real so naturally.

between this and the taliesin one-shot where theyre all vampires, and considering the narrative of his own one-shots, liam is damn good at playing 'remorseless and a little insane'
I'm a little ashamed to admit it took me a good 20-30 minutes or so to understand why Laura heaping praise on Jaina was funny.

I didnt realise at all the 1st time I watched this through. To be fair to me, ive never really played WoW and when I did it was on a private server with a huge exp boost so I skipped more or less all the cutscenes and dialogue. I mustve not been paying attention the 2nd time I watched this. 3rd time I picked it up immediately. 3rd watch is what I'm on now. Rewatching their one shots after 6-9 months is a really good way to get a semi-fresh experience. Because it isnt part of the main campaign its crammed full of more content meaning your brain (or mine at the very least) doesnt retain the information of what happened like it would with the main campaign where you kind of have to.

As much as I love the CR intro, there was no other way I could start this episode than by playing the Kobolds & Catacombs trailer as a stand-in instead, with Matt's dulcet, bardic tones weaving the tale that would lead us into this amazing quest XD. I missed these guys so much!

It's obvious how much they all enjoy this game, but when travis gets that boyish grin/giggles when something cool is happening or when matt is RPing the kobolds, I can't help but grin right along with him.
I appreciate that Laura called Liam`s character Toes, the things that Vax lost, ...Vex and Vax are still being twins. Adorable!

For ONCE, the new voice-actor for a beloved character is actually better than the first/true/original one. This basicly never happens, if you think about it. Goes to show how awesome of a voice-actor Liam actually is.

Jennifer Hale really does have such a nice voice. It’s so clear and perfect and has an ethereal quality.
Funny thing is Red Dragons in WoW are the complete opposite of Red Dragons in DnD. In WoW they're one of the friendliest dragon broods towards mortal races (since they're the brood designated to watch over the mortal races). If they'd have woken it and tried to talk to it, it may have actually offered to help them.
Doesn't mean they won't lay the smack down when someone tries to steal from them though.
luketfer yeah, even then a red dragon would barely care about someone wanting a dagger, especially if that was all that was taken. They would definitely try to kill you if you took eggs or something directly related dragons.
A black dragon would have been better, lore wise, they would prefer the earth more than red, and hate mortals even more
I think I know why it was a Red Dragon. In Hearthstone Kobolds and Catacombs mode one of the final bosses is a Red Dragon (and they're using boss characters from that mode). According to the opening dialogue it immediately brands you a thief however this could have been different if they'd have gone a different route due to the wonders of tabletop gaming.
Like the Fungus seller is an enemy boss in that mode but here he was a quirky little NPC.

Liam as a D&D "Nico Bellic" was pure gold, and so damned funny (like when Travis plays Grog, or Sam plays Scanlan).
Fingers crossed for Laura to play a "Jaina Proudmoore" badass sorcerer or wizard in the next campaign. Travis as a Paladin and Taliesin as a Life Cleric were very good fits.

Ok random question but are all the characters based on Hearthstone cards? Laura is clearly based on the Sorcerer's Apprentice card ("some day I'll be just like you!") and I swear Travis's character sounds a lot like one of the Argent tournament cards but hey that is probably just coincidence.

fantastic effort! Also: having Matt back in the DM seat generates a huge amount of confidence.
So they encounter one of the most rng-based bosses, Laura gets the most broken card in hearthstone, they find the modded version of Thunderfury, blessed blade of the windseeker, dance with a magma rager, and they go to fight a candle midget. God I love this DM.
