I don't even play hearthstone but your matchmaking challenges are some of my favorite content on TH-cam, i might even start playing the game because of them
You gotta do the Mecha’Thun win condition for every class. It probably won’t be easy for some classes, but man winning with that deathrattle was so satisfying.
Some things from a Wild perspective: -Paly Weapon actually did see play about 1 1/2 years ago in some handbuff lists (it was a strong deck when First Day of School was unnerfed). It wasn't a big part of the deck's winrate, but it was a good option if your "pocket meta" was greedy/slow. -Skull was still a strong card in Wild for a while, but cubelock is just a slow deck by today's wild standards -Aluneth was actually pretty strong in Secret Mage until Sayge got printed. -There's still the occasional KB dedicated player out there, but Swordfish is def the new version of the premiere rogue weapon. Some KB players have opted for a "Spellsbane" build that plays buffs then hides, similarly to "poison rogue" in standard. It's still a pretty big fall from grace.
Skull is still a crazy strong card. It will likely come into the meta again some time in the future. Sure it is not game warping, but sure it is playable.
@@breeze0203 tried it a couple of weeks ago. Reborn quest is too slow and unreliable, because most of reborn minions are bad for today's standarts, so playing almost half of them feels like wasting mana and skipping a turn. The worst part is that this ability in this deck is a "win more" effect, because if you've played low tempo minions, low tempo weapon, got a good proc and you are not dead it's a win already even without the weapon. Even paladin benefits more from this weapon, but, obviously, you can't play quest and it's not a main card in this deck.
When the video got to Rhok'delar I was like "oh this should be easy, it was a great card in its time" then realised that it was a side strong piece in the deck with Zul'jin, NEEDING to draw it to win is pain xD
Twig of the World Tree had to be the easiest one. Twig, Sphere of Sapience, and Guff can hard carry most decks. Like, if those three cards are in your opening hand together, your opponent has probably lost the match already unless they're an incredibly fast deck. Edit: wow, the one matchup where you literally couldn't have won without the Twig/Sphere combo, amazing.
I loved Aluneth's prime in the game. It was both so satisfying to use it to burn down your opponent and also so satisfying to see someone else use it and mill while their hand was full and die to its fatigue. It reminds me so much of a certain yugioh duel with a certain god card...
Hey Rarran! I really appreciate the effort you put in the editing of this video. The fast pacing of each game made it much more enjoyable than if you just put each full game. I really think that you are one of the best hearthstone content creators out there and it's a blast watching your videos and seeing your channel grow aswell. Best wishes from Argentina!
Hi, Rarran! I found your channel thanks to your crossovers with LoR players and streamers and I've been having so much fun with your videos! I haven't played Hearthstone in YEARS (think my last expansion was Journey to Un'Goro or the Kharakhazam one, can't really remember) and your challenge videos bring me lots of good memories from those days, even when I don't understand most of the things you do or even how players get 40 health or what class everyone's playing since there are so many new Heroes 🤣 hope the hours spent with this challenge where worth it in the end!
It's always fun to watch these videos as someone who's been away for years. Around when I stopped playing, usually many of the cards in these "challenges" were still relatively new and still saw play, so it's weird to come back now after all this time and see that they've faded into obscurity lmao. Good stuff though, I don't think I'll ever play Hearthstone regularly again but these videos are always a treat to watch
A long time ago, I opened a golden Runespear. Any normal person would have disenchanted it and crafted a good legendary from it. I, however, still have it and it's currently in my bad legendary meme shaman alongside cards like Arch-Thief Rafaam, Electra Stormsurge, and Zentimo.
@@Sonofhroft Honestly Zentimo isn't too shabby either. Not the strongest, but is solid in some Freeze Shaman lists. Triple Windchill/Windfury is pretty good
For the paladin one should have played making mummies with immortal prelate and just tried to make huge and infinite immortal prelate, slow yes funny also yes.
Genuinely surprised you didnt include Nzoth in that Warlock list. Would've definitely helped you get more value out of those big deathrattle demons you were pulling for free
Yes, but the terms of the challenge was the legendary weapon had to be what won him the game. If he won by a board N’Zoth generated it technically wouldn’t count and Chat can be pretty unforgiving. 😅
@@zigster1298 I mean if all the demons were initially fed into it by the weapon making them free i personally would've still counted it, lol. Otherwise he could've also just tossed in Captain Greenskin and swung for 1 final damage with it :D
Man, It’s been just a small time since I found your channel. I honestly think that you are one of the faces of the new HS generation. And I’m saying that as a “veteran” who’s been playing since knight of the frozen throne. You’re a surprise but a pleasant one.
I love that you always tell us about how you feel before the match like "I thought this would take long/short" without spoiling wether it was long or short Nevermind just finished the video
rarran ty for bringing so much love back to hearthstone, been playing since 2013 and it was always sad seeing its decline. However things have gotten so much better lately.
I'd like to point out that part of what really made Skull of Man'ari so threatening when it saw play was Doomguard. It got pretty threatening when you had to worry about Doomguard getting skulled, cubed, and then eventually having a bunch of charging Doomguards summoned off of Bloodreaver Gul'dan. Food for thought on the weapon's strong points!
'In Murder at Castle Nathria. We were introduced to the Suspects. Some of them were good. Some of them were bad. But I wanted to see if it was possible to win a game with every single one while making sure that their the reason I win.'
Been playing hearthstone on and off for almost 7 8 years now but I'm now watching your stuff. I'm back in just got gold for the first time and maybe 5 years
Love these videos. You are singelhandedly the reason i started playing HS again. For the next challenge can you put a timer somewhere? Would love to see how long some of these challenges take
Val'anyr actually looked fun. The problem was he had way too many minions. That dopplegangster interaction looks pretty nutty ngl. Thanks for the deck idea!
Kingsbane rogue was my favourite rogue deck ever. Loved that thing. Thanks for the nostalgia. They should bring kingsbane back to standard just like they do with the likes of rafaam all the time.
Oh lordy, I saw you spend $75 the first day, didn't realize that cost doubled afterwards, biggus oofus. Loving the content though Rarran! You've quickly become one of my favorite content creators period since finding your channel.
Love these challenge videos rarran. My 2 friends got me into hearthstone when DH dropped and would always talk about some of the crazy cards before ashes
Kingsbane used to be broken AF because you could permanently give it Lifesteal and Poison, atop its damage buffs. You either won early, dealt an OTK, or somehow burned their card, or you were screwed.
does it not get lifesteal and poison anymore, pretty sure it also paired with 2 blade flurry (the one where you sac weapon to kill opponents board and face)
My friend and I both started in Catacombs and so we each got a legendary weapon in our starting accounts. I got Kingsbane, he got Valanyr. In hindsight, I clearly got the better luck, but I'll tell you, when you're playing casual games before you've gotten the hang of things or built a solid collection, that reoccurring 4/2 weapon/stats feels straight up unfair!
I've beeen binging this series the past few days....I love watching you suffer for the sake of content 😂Great editing too. It amazes me how unplayable some of these cards are, some classes just shouldn't have weapons xD

13:56 I think with the priest weapon going Miracle Priest is by far the best approach because that actually allows you to flood the board. It's still not good, but good enough to win a game against another memer eventually. Lyra in there for the content as well.
I stopped playing HS a bit ago but I still really enjoy your content, especially these challange videos and do you know hearthstone. Keep on keeping on.
