Deutsche Aircraft Reveals The First Details About The New Dornier 328

  • One thing is particularly important to those responsible at Deutsche Aircraft. Your new product should be perceived as environmentally friendly. One will offer an "eco-efficient alternative in the market for regional aircraft with fewer than 50 seats," said boss Dave Jackson at a presentation on Monday (December 7th). The name of the turboprop aircraft was changed some time ago. It is now called the D328 Eco.
    Deutsche Aircraft is the name of the manufacturer that presented itself to the public for the first time a year ago. Since then he has been building a new aircraft factory in Leipzig. There is also a development department in Oberpfaffenhofen near Munich. The company plans to employ around 500 people in the future. In the past few months, people have been hired, the product has been refined, market analyzes have been adjusted and patents have been registered, according to Jackson.

    You need to stretch it to 48 paxs and maybe former EMB145 customers may buy it

    So it will be competing with the ATR 42. I saw this aircraft as fitting the segment between the Cessna Sky Courier passenger variant and the 42. At 32 seats it would be ideal for air service between small communities in isolated territories.

    I ask myself if this aircraft will be better than ATR42 concerning operating costs and CO2-emissions? Right now, the ATR 42 is better in this areas!

    It is nice to hear that there will be a stretched version of the Do-328 with 40+ passengers but why not revive the Do-728 as turboprop like the Bombardier Q-400 or ATR-72 which are more profitable?

      May be they will produce stretch version in future. I am also waiting for this project with 100 passengers on STOL verson .

      There will be only turboprop version produced. Then may be electrified version.

      It was said on official press release. It might not be realistic but it is an official for company.

    what have happened to the turkish T328 based on the same aircraft, and the bigger T628?

      The project was cancelled. The SNC which has the production right decided to build a factory in Germany
