    magnetizing is easier than having to paint and build an entirely new model just so it carries a different weapon, also with the points cost and weapon properties changes that they do it is wise to keep your models modular.

      i'm in the process of magnetizing EVERYTHING that can be in my smallish Ork army. I'm by no means a "pro level" warhammer player, and I just feel that for the price we pay for some of this shit, we should have everything be as flexible and modular as possible.
      my buddy is even magnetizing ALL of the shoulder pads and heads on his primaris marines so he can turn them into HQs if he needs.

    Bro,
    You were so thorough and articulate. This was the best video on magnetizing minis I could have hoped for. Thanks for that 👍🏼

    After going through a couple videos on the topic, this is the best one. You use the right sizes, you use the pin vise, your method for polarities is great. I wasn't big on the sound quality and the flow, but we're here for the content and you're top marks for content.

    Very direct, easy to understand and straight to the point... love it. If you gonna do some more, all u need is the spasas... aka extra sound quality and filming quality. The script is on point

    Thank you for this video. I did my first ever magnetization
    today and the arms were a lot thinner than Marine shoulders. It worked great. I only slightly altered the technique by using the back of my clippers rather than an exacto/hobby blade but the principle is the same. I knew about magnetizing but had never done it and wasn't sure about arms as opposed to the vehicle weapons etc. Thanks again. This was quite helpful.

    Thanks so much for these tips! "Not putting the magnet too deep" was my #1 concern, so these instructions were really well detailed. Thanks so much.

    Very enjoyable to watch your process. I’ve been magnetizing my miniatures for a long time now. I think I’ve used one size up from these. But you’re right stammer is cheaper. And this size works just fine!

    What website did you use to order these magnets?

  • @kramt32
    @kramt32 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    What I do with gluing the magnet to the model is using a credit card or something like it. I hang half of it over the edge of the table and placing a heavy object on the other half to keep it still. Then you place one magnet on top of the card and the bottom has several magnets sticking on it which will act as a handle. I always have the same polarity direction say for the torso north is always facing out and for the arms, south is always facing out. Just like how you did it, putting glue on the part of the model to be magnetized first then placing it on top of the magnet on top of the card then you just pull the magnets at the bottom down. This is easier rather than sliding both magnets apart. For the powered armour marines' shoulders I use 1/8" x 1/16" and for the wrist a 2x1mm magnets. 2x1mm is slightly bigger than 1/16"

    Its easier if you just use magnets in the torso, and bits of iron or steel in the arms. No worries for polarity.

    i tend to use as big of a magnet as i can get away with so the arms are more sturdy...the real small ones i found hold ok to a point...but swivel too easy

      I was using larger magnets before, but I found them to be overkill. I switched to smaller magnets mostly for the cost aspect.

    FNP Wargaming Network term:
    Pilot Hole
    Actual term:
    Center Punch
    FNP Wargaming Term:
    Drill
    Actual Term:
    Pin Vice
    2:10 Would not recommend pulling a hobby knife toward your fingers. Separate the magnets on a self-healing hobby mat or similar surface.
    Link below for the teeny tiny magnets?
    Good video otherwise!

    • @davidma6616
      @davidma6616 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      “Pilot Hole” is a perfectly standard term here in the USA. I have never once heard the term “Center Punch”. Same with the hand drill, it’s not like he got these terms wrong as your comment suggests. Just cause you’re unfamiliar with a term doesn’t mean it’s not the “actual” term in the country where the video is from.
