Oh, this is my jam. Things Sephora collection does well: lipsticks and liners, blush, complexion/base, brushes, brows. They have a lot of hit or miss on eyeshadows, glosses, and primers. The eyeshadow stick is good. I loathe their current lineup of mascaras. They used to have a good formula that reminded me of a Clinique thickening mascara, but the latest mascaras are just terrible - flaky, smudgy, hard to work with. Bronzer tones need work.
I’ll never stop proclaiming that Saturday with Emily is the highlight of my weekend! I was lucky enough to get the matte balm in fuchsia, on your recommendation, before it sold out. It looks exactly like the Cover Girl balms but I feel it’s so much better. It is more pigmented and feels better on my lips!! Thank you so much for recommending it! Because of that stellar purchase, I bought a few more Sephora Collection products and I’m loving all of them!! I love your eye look, BTW! I love the duochrome on your lid. It’s too bad the green and the purple aren’t more vibrant but I live for a cool-toned eye so this look gets an A+ in my book! Hello Emily!! Thanks for spotlighting the Sephora brand finds! It was nice to have them 30% off during the sale. I use quite a bit of the Ordinary products myself. You get directed ingredients at such a minimal price, where some brands are so darn high and really don't have the ingredients to back up the pricing. Also, my 2 kids are grown now. But when they were younger, I'd clean their rooms and toys every few months, and pack away in totes toys that weren't getting much attention. Then I'd drag them out again next time, and sure enough, they'd be so excited about something they hadn't seen in a bit, lol. Had toys on revolve and it worked just like you said! Brought back that memory when you spoke about it...I miss those days❤
The overall look was great....it's a little cooler...the dim jewel tones really set off your hair and brow color....also you didn't go overly bronze...so it was a truly sculpted look...it gave you a fairy tale look
I forgot about the ordinary. I used a few products together and my pores and skin had never looked better. I stopped because their packaging was wonky. My lids wouldn’t properly close and the product got weird towards the end of the bottle. Do you find that issue with the packaging?
Know the sale cycles year round. Works for everything. Tax season sales in large ticket items (fine jewels, cookware @ WS) are getting more impressive.
I really like The Best Skin Ever foundation and concealer. I have dry, mature skin and I find it doesn't settle into lines and pores. I saw another TH-camr from the UK with a luminous version they offer over there. I hope it becomes available in the US. I definitely want to try the blush and that lip balm. I like many of the Sephora brushes. They hold up well. Thanks for a great dive into the house brand. 😊

Any time I need to do winged liner on a little one I always reach for one of the stamp liners. I find they get excited by the idea of a stamp and are more willing to sit still. And there are so many different affordable options at the drugstore or Amazon that you can usually find one that will fit their eye shape.
I love the Ordinary and the Inkey List’s products! The Ordinary’s hyaluronic acid is not my favorite because of you use too much, it gets foamy on the skin. I am currently loving Glow Recipe’s plum plum HA serum. By the way, your title is so good for this one!

Great video Emily! One of my favorite ordinary products is the buffet with copper peptides. It's a little more expensive but it's a really high quality product. Hope you and your girls have a wonderful day!
@LoveABun For me personally, I have noticed increased firmness and clarity. It just looks better! I Googled it, and copper peptides are supposed to improve skin firmness, elasticity, and bounciiness. They also reduce the appearance of fine lines.
As a Casper the Friendly Ghost pale skin gal, the Sephora contour you used in this video is great for face shaping/bronzer! I’ve never been into bronzer for the reasons you mentioned and I have been reaching for this every time I do my makeup!
Good morning! I’ve found the easiest way to do my daughter’s eyeliner for cheer is a tiny eyeliner brush and Maybelline gel liner in the pot. I get a good wing and my hand doesn’t shake like with the pen!

I'm a mega fan of the Ordinary's Azelaic Acid. I used it on just half my face for a full month and asked around if anyone could guess which half, everyone knew right away! So I highly highly recommend that product for anyone looking into the Ordinary, I think it's an underrated sleeper hit. I loved this video, I hope you get the chance to do a part 2.

Love your entire look today! I especially like the look that you did with the destinations palette. Yes, that is New Orleans, and that is my hometown! Even though I have transplanted to Houston, after the most recent hurricane New Orleans will forever be my home. And I think the swampy murkiness of the palette speaks to the heart of New Orleans. Not sure if that was what they were going for but they achieved it. I also love the packaging of those lip glosses too. There’s just something about it that seems so luxe! I have the matte lip balm in pink, but I am going to try more colors because I also love the formula which is pretty unique in my lip balm collection as well. Overall, great great video. I use their felt tip liner in black and brown, their gel liners in a few different shades and their eyeshadow sticks. The shade brown copper is a lovely one and done for my skin tone.
Question. Why don't you try swiping the glittery shadows with your finger onto your lids? Sometimes using a brush just doesn't do it for the forrmulation and a good old fashion finger brings out the color and vibrancy.
Emily, I was a makeup artist in the 80s, 90s Etc. I'm looking at that eyeshadow palette, and it's almost identical to some color stories that we had back then. Our techniques, especially in the 80s were a little bit different for eyeshadow application. I'd like to suggest that you do an all-over wash on the entire eye area up to the brow with that large cream color. In most of our shadow palettes back then, a cream shadow was always prominent because it was to be used as a base for the other colors. I wonder since I don't have that particular palette to work with right now, if perhaps by putting the cream all the way over would alleviate some of the murkiness in that purple and help it pop a bit, and the other colors as well. I'm also understanding the color scheme and the murkiness because my family is from Birmingham Alabama and there just seems to be almost like a mossy very humid feel to that color scheme. I'd love to know what you think of the suggestion about the eyeshadow application and maybe do an update?
That Sephora baked powder is fantastic, I use it daily. They also have amazing gel liners that I use at my tight line. Another house brand I really want to try is Ulta.
Hi Emily one thing I want to highlight about the Sephora collection stuff is the shade variety. The Best skin ever foundation and concealer are available in so many shades and from the palest to the deepest tones. I struggle to find pale enough foundations and the shade 03P is a perfect shade match for my skin. They also do some great eyeliners in so many beautiful colours - often colours not found in that many brands (plus they wear well and stay on all day). It's not super affordable, but it's not an expensive brand either and they do have some really good products. Best wishes.
The Ordinary Lash and Brow Serum is INCREDIBLE! I’ve always had good brows snd lashes, but they’ve started thinning with age. I started using the serum at the start of the year, and my lashes are back, and my brows are growing back in, and I am THRILLED! HIGHLY recommend! And do affordable! ❤ P.S. I really love Sephora'a 12 Hour Contour Eye Pencil. I have it is 13 Tiramisu which is a lovely deep brown. It stays really well in my waterline. I also love thier Lip Stories bullett lipsticks. The shade 3 Oui! is my favorite. ❤

I’m excited to see what your feelings are about the Ordinary serums. Based on another influencer who is closer to my age…..she’s 66….I’m 61. I started 2 -3 ago weeks with the Argireline 10% and the Matrixyl 10% + HA High Strength Wrinkle Support serum. No, noticeable results yet, but things “feel” different, if that makes sense. I’ve used the Philosophy face wash for probably 15 years or more. My other skin care has gone by the wayside, unfortunately. I’ve always had “good” skin. But one morning I woke up and saw some skin sagging “GASP” 😱. Crows feet, have had those for a while but never to the point of they stay when I stop smiling or even squinting my eyes. I think I’ve had my eleven lines since I was 11!! But it’s the smile lines/marionette lines that some evil little fairy dropped on my face one night that put me into action. Too little, to late? Maybe…..probably, but I’m not giving up. My budget doesn’t allow for high end products, but I’m trying. I avoid the sun like the plague, after being born and raised in southwest Florida. So now a good sunscreen. I believe I saw you say something about Super Goop in one of your videos. I’ve seen someone else mention it 😊too. What else do I need for my honest to goodness normal skin?? My biggest “issue” is putting all of these things on my skin before I ever put on the first speck of makeup. I don’t like looking or feeling…..sticky, tacky, glowy or oily. I honestly prefer a matte look. Not flat as a pancake matte, I still want my face to have dimension. If that makes sense.
A suggestion for doing eye makeup on the little ones that worked great for me - have them lay down on the floor and turn their head a little to the left when you do their right eye, and then switch sides. They wiggled a lot less!

I’ve been using The Ordinary brand, caffeine eye serum for over 5 years. As with any creams, eyes, face, etc I always alternate throughout the week. I also use other products by them. I have definitely seen a difference. I continue to repurchase to this day. 😊
I always look forward to your videos and stories! I did pick up the Sephora foundation at the sale and even with primer it broke up on my T-zone area after about 6 hours. That was a bit disappointing, but I do love their eye pencils and blushes so I stocked up my favorites and tried some new ones. I have been an Ordinary fan for a couple of years now and the caffeine eye serum is a must have for me. I am still waiting for the Sephora blushes Over the Top and Hey Jealousy to arrive in the mail, but I picked up the bright pink blush that you recommended from the Dollar Tree and I can not believe how a little goes a long way and stays on all day! That is not a color I would think to wear, but now I am ready to try new colors thanks to you! I always buy the Sephora brand Shadow liner Multi stick.. they smudge great, easy pop of color and stays all day. The latest Setting Spray is awesome too.. it’s similar to Charlotte Tillbury
I actually love the eye look! I really love cool toned eyeshadows and wish we saw more of those from brands. also - I always apply shimmer shadows with a finger, and that can also sometimes help with deeper ones! maybe that instead of a brush could help the dark purple shimmer stand out a little more?

I use their felt tip liner in black and brown, their gel liners in a few different shades and their eyeshadow sticks. The shade brown copper is a lovely one and done for my skin tone.
I love the eye look! The cool toned silver with the other colors look nice. The Sephora brand is extremely underrated.
Question. Why don't you try swiping the glittery shadows with your finger onto your lids? Sometimes using a brush just doesn't do it for the forrmulation and a good old fashion finger brings out the color and vibrancy.
Emily, I was a makeup artist in the 80s, 90s Etc. I'm looking at that eyeshadow palette, and it's almost identical to some color stories that we had back then. Our techniques, especially in the 80s were a little bit different for eyeshadow application.
I'd like to suggest that you do an all-over wash on the entire eye area up to the brow with that large cream color.
In most of our shadow palettes back then, a cream shadow was always prominent because it was to be used as a base for the other colors.
I wonder since I don't have that particular palette to work with right now, if perhaps by putting the cream all the way over would alleviate some of the murkiness in that purple and help it pop a bit, and the other colors as well. I'm also understanding the color scheme and the murkiness because my family is from Birmingham Alabama and there just seems to be almost like a mossy very humid feel to that color scheme.
I'd love to know what you think of the suggestion about the eyeshadow application and maybe do an update?
That Sephora baked powder is fantastic, I use it daily. They also have amazing gel liners that I use at my tight line. Another house brand I really want to try is Ulta.
Hi Emily one thing I want to highlight about the Sephora collection stuff is the shade variety. The Best skin ever foundation and concealer are available in so many shades and from the palest to the deepest tones. I struggle to find pale enough foundations and the shade 03P is a perfect shade match for my skin. They also do some great eyeliners in so many beautiful colours - often colours not found in that many brands (plus they wear well and stay on all day). It's not super affordable, but it's not an expensive brand either and they do have some really good products. Best wishes.
The Ordinary Lash and Brow Serum is INCREDIBLE! I’ve always had good brows snd lashes, but they’ve started thinning with age. I started using the serum at the start of the year, and my lashes are back, and my brows are growing back in, and I am THRILLED! HIGHLY recommend! And do affordable! ❤

I really love Sephora'a 12 Hour Contour Eye Pencil. I have it is 13 Tiramisu which is a lovely deep brown. It stays really well in my waterline. I also love thier Lip Stories bullett lipsticks. The shade 3 Oui! is my favorite. ❤

I’m excited to see what your feelings are about the Ordinary serums. Based on another influencer who is closer to my age…..she’s 66….I’m 61. I started 2 -3 ago weeks with the Argireline 10% and the Matrixyl 10% + HA High Strength Wrinkle Support serum. No, noticeable results yet, but things “feel” different, if that makes sense. I’ve used the Philosophy face wash for probably 15 years or more. My other skin care has gone by the wayside, unfortunately. I’ve always had “good” skin. But one morning I woke up and saw some skin sagging “GASP” 😱. Crows feet, have had those for a while but never to the point of they stay when I stop smiling or even squinting my eyes. I think I’ve had my eleven lines since I was 11!! But it’s the smile lines/marionette lines that some evil little fairy dropped on my face one night that put me into action. Too little, to late? Maybe…..probably, but I’m not giving up. My budget doesn’t allow for high end products, but I’m trying. I avoid the sun like the plague, after being born and raised in southwest Florida. So now a good sunscreen. I believe I saw you say something about Super Goop in one of your videos. I’ve seen someone else mention it 😊too. What else do I need for my honest to goodness normal skin?? My biggest “issue” is putting all of these things on my skin before I ever put on the first speck of makeup. I don’t like looking or feeling…..sticky, tacky, glowy or oily. I honestly prefer a matte look. Not flat as a pancake matte, I still want my face to have dimension. If that makes sense.

A suggestion for doing eye makeup on the little ones that worked great for me - have them lay down on the floor and turn their head a little to the left when you do their right eye, and then switch sides. They wiggled a lot less!

I’ve been using The Ordinary brand, caffeine eye serum for over 5 years. As with any creams, eyes, face, etc I always alternate throughout the week. I also use other products by them. I have definitely seen a difference. I continue to repurchase to this day. 😊
I always look forward to your videos and stories! I did pick up the Sephora foundation at the sale and even with primer it broke up on my T-zone area after about 6 hours. That was a bit disappointing, but I do love their eye pencils and blushes so I stocked up my favorites and tried some new ones. I have been an Ordinary fan for a couple of years now and the caffeine eye serum is a must have for me. I am still waiting for the Sephora blushes Over the Top and Hey Jealousy to arrive in the mail, but I picked up the bright pink blush that you recommended from the Dollar Tree and I can not believe how a little goes a long way and stays on all day! That is not a color I would think to wear, but now I am ready to try new colors thanks to you! I have been wearing 2 neutralish blushes from Clinique for decades and I am gaining confidence trying new blush shades. This is fun! Thanks Emily!

I actually love the eye look! I really love cool toned eyeshadows and wish we saw more of those from brands. also - I always apply shimmer shadows with a finger, and that can also sometimes help with deeper ones! maybe that instead of a brush could help the dark purple shimmer stand out a little more?

I really like the sephora setting spray ❤ I feel like it takes away the powdery look while not adding any shine and it does make your makeup last too 🙌❤ Their setting powder is nice too but cant say it's my favorite, I prefer dermablend for setting my makeup 😊
