Chris!! Who would have thought that the simple act of you twisting your ankle would set in motion a chain of events that would change, not only the lives of two people, but also the life of a little street pup, who was wandering around Halfeti beneath your very nose!! After our week in Halfeti with you, it was so surreal to watch it back and see the Euphrates and the dirt track... that park up began to feel like home 😆 Sending lots of love from us all, and especially from little Scout, who says thank you for twisting your ankle so you had to bring your friends back to finish filming 😂 🐶 💕 xxx

You are so right there is loud music unnecessary. Turkish youtubers who visited here had the same complaint. I think they are doing the target audience analysis wrong here. They think like Marmaris, but the target audience here is different. there are more people here quietly desiring a boat tour. completely unnecessary. some boats should be without music.

There’s an upside to everything: if you didn’t twist your ankle you wouldn’t have had such a lovely time with Ben and Chesca and their cute dog, and went on to make great videos of the south east of Turkey. I do hope they sorted that walkway so others don’t get injured too. Stay safe

Oh! My! Goodness! Chris! That is a very typical problem in Turkey!!
I remember Hubby coming home on his own from shopping at the BUTCHER!! He did what Chris did, the bag of meat went flying. Before he gathered himself together he was surrounded by DOGS!! Rather than fight them off he just surrendered the meat. We went out for dinner that night🤣😂🤣

I miss Turkey so much..of course dont gave a can but it s wonderful there. Did my tendons in in another trip in India which affected my whole journey but still went mostly where I wanted. I was there at Halfeti and there wasnt anyone around out of season so for first time in my life got cheap boat all to myself for whole day plus boatman.

There is something magical.in Urfa, biblical name edessa.
There is an hotel called "el ruha" translate as "to the soul".
Edessa is known as "Town of phrophets" definitely Gabriel visits occasionally.

As a paramedic of 22 years I’ve seen countless falls over the years, some resulting in broken bones! Folks usually txting or on their mobile devices and not concentrating on the footpath. Mind how you go, give yourself plenty of time with the recovery and rehabilitation, take care and heal well!

Hehe, every time you order something at a restaurant, you get a cat for free.
Strap it up with a bandage for support, rest it and take some Ibruprofen, it’ll be fine in a few days. If you can walk on it, it’s probably only a sprain, so it’ll be sore, bruised and a bit swollen and tender to walk on.

Sorry about your fall, Chris. With the size of your swelling, you should ice and elevate that ankle for a couple of days. It also would not be a bad idea to find an infirmary or hospital to have them take an xray of your ankle, just to make sure there are no hairline fractures or other maladies. Hope your ankle gets better in a day or two. That was quite a hole. I once fell in Seattle, Washington while walking in downtown. Same type of hole I didn’t see as I was busy talking to a friend also walking. It was my knee that I hurt and couldn’t bend it for a week. Here’s hoping it heals quickly.

Ah, this is the one where Chris take a tumble. I remember seeing it on Instagram awhile back. Don't ya just hate when you do injury to your feet and you can't walk, it's the worst. I have just come in from digging up an old fern bed(still more to go) in my mom's yard so I needed a good Chris and Marianne video break. Happy New Year and have a good start to 2022 preparing for the next leg of going around the world. Woo Hoo!

Hope your ankle isn't going to hurt for more than 48 hours - you might find a walking stick (from a pharmacy) helpful (I fell in Fethiye) a few months back. Halfeti and the sunken town is lovely. Bought some rose body cream there which lasted for ages. Looking forward to foodie adventures in Antep when you're better.

It looked like you'd broken your foot Chris like i did back in october in a fall the night of my small stroke .. I spent 2 weeks in hospital then got sorta thrown out as soon as i was able to walk to the bathroom hope you are both well xx

oof! feeling the pain as if it is in my own ankle. Please take proper medical advice, do not walk and use some sort of pressure bandage. Wish your early recovery, and lots of love from London.
I've done that twice in 6 months once on each ankle lol. Takes ages for the swelling to go down but I just carried on walking as we were on holiday in Blackpool the 1st time. Took 3 months to heal. Take care and use ice or something cold with your foot up as often as you can, plus a gel or cream with ibuprofen or similar is good
Hi Chris, same thing happened to me last time I was in China, luckily next day I was coming back to Canada so found out the small bone going to he ankle was cracked, I had to have fiberglass cast (you can choose the color) for 3 weeks and then those ankle boots for couple of months.. I don't want to sound pessimistic but it took 6 months to go back to normal.. Good luck and Happy New Year!

I would recommend you to go to Tunceli as well. You would definitely like it there. The province is one of the hidden pearls of eastern Turkey. From the south of the province, where it is currently warm, to the north, where the ski season has started, the province is home to the most biodiverse national park in Turkey and is also a center for the alevi minority.

@@TREADtheglobe thanks but my accident happened in 2009 then it was amputated in February 2012 ,it been life changing it’s a nightmare but life still goes on but it’s not easy

Hallo ihr beiden, frohes neues jahr. Ich war 2018 in halfeti, wunderschön dort, auch wir haben eine bootsfahrt gemacht und ich habe kopfschmerzen bekommen.
