  • Hey everyone! Today, we're tackling a common issue: fixing a broken conduit on a well. It all started when a mower got a bit too close and broke the conduit. We'll dive into why securing your conduit is crucial, the consequences of leaving it broken, and step-by-step instructions on how to repair it.
As we remove the cap, we find an unexpected surprise-ants! The broken conduit allowed these pests to invade, leading to bacteria in the well. I’ll walk you through the repair process, including turning off the power, disconnecting wires, dealing with ants, and ensuring a secure connection.
Throughout the repair, I’ll emphasize the importance of chlorinating your well after opening it to kill any potential bacteria. We’ll also discuss how to properly reconnect electrical wires and ensure everything is safe and functional.
By the end, you’ll know how to handle this repair yourself and prevent future issues. I'm on city water so this was very interesting. I did have to replace an underground section of incoming water line, and every week I check the meter to make sure there are no leaks, mainly to keep the water bill down, but never thought about dirt getting in..
