@@jurezibert this is an older one of my videos. I now have a very nice mic if you want to check out those. But yeah unfortunately can’t go back in time 3 years to fix these. Thanks for watching tho!
I'm not a big fan of the Wealth + Contract x2 opener for the Baron, because it requires 3 actions, which means that you will be doing it during turn 1 and 2. Not only there's a big chance that you will get countered with someone else getting one of the emplacements first, but it also means that you will likely not be able to use your signet power the first time you draw your signet card, since this line of action gives you exactly 8 solariis. The turn order is very important in this game, which means that playing a character as the 1st player is very different from playing it as the 4th. I prefer to choose Fremen as one of the two masterstroke alliances and go on Hardy warriors at the first opportunity: it allows you to send 4 troops into Conflict, activates your masterstroke, which gives you another influence point with Fremen, unlocking you the Sietch Tabr (potentially on your very first action, allowing you to use it on turn 1 uncontested).
Agreed! I think LOTB has the right idea, but Basin-Contract-Sell is the better quick swordsman combo imo (assuming you’re not going after Sietch Tabr right away). It’s still four moves but at least allows for signet ability since you’ll have gained 9 solari and leaves the possibility for adding troops to the skirmish, potentially scooping up additional early game resources. Moving up the Emperor track is ideally accomplished by using an acquired card with strong secondary benefit such as Firm Grip, Sardaukar Legion, or Opulence.
Just played this tonight. So fun. Your videos are fire man we love your villainous guides too. Keep up the good work - Update: played the baron and tried to stick to your strat and pulled off a victory last night. Couldn't get my third agent till round 3 but the patience was worth it. I fell behind early but the Baron is a slow burner.
Very excited for the game -- I have been looking around for content about it and it is great you are planning on doing a series. One thought I had watching the tips: I think it is likely that in early turns there will be a lot of competition for the spaces that give solari. Getting a swordmaster and a seat on the high council is expensive and my guess is most players will want both as early as they can manage it. For that reason I think it will be hard for the Baron to just take 8 solari via 3 agents in the first 2 turns. I think in most games turn 3 will be when the first swordmaster is bought, and in the first few turns all the sources of solari will be tightly contested, even more so in a 4 player game. Interesting tips and thanks for the video.
Great great thoughts! Seeing as I am in covid times I’ve been playing mostly 2 player. And we have really been enjoying the game. And your right this certainly doesn’t work everytime. But know that it could happen is good info to help get it faster if I need it. I have found that depending on the character my wife goes for more spice / or water heavy openings. The solari doesn’t benefit everyone early in the game the same way is how we have found. But I can imagine with more players likely not gonna happen as often 😂 thanks for the comment and I am excited to release the next one!
Oh man! This is good stuff! You talk like you played that game so often. It only came out, like, two months ago! I played maybe 10-12 games so far without being able to really figure out what kind of strategy to adopt with the different factions (even though I read all of the books), just going with the flow of the game and the different cards available to be bought coming out each round... and I have to admit that your first 2 rounds recommandations with the Baron are making me wanna watch your other strategy guides. Thanks man!
Hey thanks so much! I really hope it helps. Sometimes all people need is a little direction! I love thinking of games in a more strategical way :) let me know if it works out for you! And if you like root or villainous I have guides for them!
Super excited about this. I've been a huge Dune fan all my life. I also LOVE boardgames so this is basically made for me. Can't wait for December and to receive my copy of the game ( pre-ordered the Deluxe edition as well).
Oh man, I'm twelve seconds in and I just gotta say, I love the timestamp of "fancy broll footage." If I ever get around to having b-roll in my videos (instead of just blasting from a title card into the action), I think I might have to "borrow" that label, haha. Okay, back to the video!
Haha I actually really appreciate that! This videos voice qaulity is a little disheartening 🤪 the mic is failing I believe. But I truly appreciate that you enjoyed the broll. And totally please take it! I love your videos :)
Thanks for the video¡ 2 things: Do you like more this game or the Dune original and now reedited game? Would you upload some videos about Dune strategy?
I would say... I play it more - but they are both different enough to stay within my collection. Dune I still would love to get a strategy series out. Just haven't done so. Things keep holding the process back.
Great video! I finally got dune imperium yesterday and loving it so far..one question I can’t find a confirmed answer to: If you have a “revealed” card which allows you to retreat troops from the combat at what point do you play this ability? Immediately on revealing cards? Before intrigue cards? After intrigue cards? Whenever you like? E.g. could you feasibly have the following: I have a revealed card with “you may retreat up to 2 troops from the combat”. I have five troops in the combat, nearest player has three (currently 10 vs 6 points (let’s say no swords on reveal cards for ease)), i skip intrigue, opponent plays a +4 swords intrigue making it 10 vs 10, I play a +6 intrigue making it 16 vs 10. Opponent skips intrigue. I skip intrigue. Could I now choose to retreat 2 troops knowing intrigue moves are now locked in (thus knowing I will still win and can save 2 troops in the process causing final scores to be 12 vs 10). Or is this too late to use retreat?/can the opponent now choose to play another intrigue? Hopefully that makers sense
What does it matter with the victory points power play thing? The only thing is your opponents guessing what you have and then suddenly have those point? You can get those points at any time as they are non-competitive.
Just keep watching the series. I cut it down. Lol. In the time stamps it’s tagged as - fancy b roll. So you can always just skip if you don’t prefer it. No way I can cut it down now 😂
Who are you more excited for! Glossu Rabban? or Baron Vladimir Harkonnen?
Glossu is my favorite character in this game bc I love spamming troops 💪
THANKS FOR THIS STRATEGY VID! SUBBED! LIKED!

Glad you like them! I love the Barons slow burn up to Victory! the Intrigue pays off too! And thanks so much for the kind words :)
Useful video. Intro is somewhat too long for my taste and audi o sounds a bit fuzzy.. Looking forward to the game
Yeah Idk what happened to my mic this time around. :( thanks for the input! And I appreciate the watch.
Played as the beast today in solo mode. Your tips helped! Def love the beatdown style haha

So did I 😂😂 I can’t wait for those miniatures! Also this game has gotten me so hyped as well. I will be releasing a playthrough soon too!

You have to choose what to retreat at the time the card is played. :)
I like to see your playthrough or this, Game on high level difficulty solo or 2 3 players game session
I wish i had a camera setup to support that!
What does it matter with the victory points power play thing? The only thing is your opponents guessing what you have and then suddenly have those point? You can get those points at any time as they are non-competitive.
The 4 influence tracks are races. If opponents don’t know which tracks you will go up an extra spot on they can’t properly plan for it.
Natural alliance: Fremen....hahaha. Ok, its aboard game :D
This game is now on steam...
🤩🤩
