Just got a question. So if I load into Emummc, that is just to play games (homebrew games) offline with wifi off (or with dns settings you gave before). And the sysnand is for online play with games that you physically bought. Let me know if I’m correct with that. And also, I see when you lord into sysnand that tinfoil and homebrew is there, does that mean you can play home brewed/downloaded games on sysnand but you just have to ensure that wifi is off obviously or else you will get banned? Thanks in advanced!
How do I delete everything related to the jailbreak on the switch? Want to have everything stock again and not have any traces at all left of the jailbreak. How do I ? need help
Hey! I'm running in to an issue when trying to Backup/Migrate to new SD Card on Hekate, where it can't find the partition when trying to backup after turning SD partition "ON". Looks like other Mac users are experiencing this due to unwanted files that Mac creates. I tried using the "FIX RAW" option as recommended, but it is greyed out? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you! Console Error:"00: BOOT0…Failed to find a partition…01: BOOT1…Failed to find a partition…"
I didn’t realize that my sd card has less storage that the backup now it says partial backup if I continue with the video with part of the backup will this still work or should I get more storage and try again
Where do you put the restore folder? I've come across numerous guides that don't cover such a simple thing. All they say is to put the boot 1 and boot 2 and the rest of the files in the restore folder and they skip to the actual process
I'm having trouble even though i followed the steps for backing up the sd emummc. The eMMC worked fine but when I tried to back up the sd emummc it looked different from what you got. I had boot files in the restore folder as well as an empty emummc folder in there as well. And no matter what I try it is giving me no files found when i try to restore it.
Background before questions: I never use my sysnand at all. I never boot into it. I only boot into emu and only use emu. I actually only ever connect to internet in emu when downloading. Can I still back up my emunand and sysnand without messing up the games I have downloaded on my sd card? If so, will those nand backups restore cleanly in the event that I have to restore them?
Hi, I didn't see this video before I installed the mods based on your other video. Can I never restore to factory settings then? What problems will this cause in the future?
Hi all, i’d greatly appreciate any help with an issue i’m having and can’t seem to find the answer for. So my switch is now hacked and I want to play TOTK and use my saves from before it was hacked but when i put the game cartridge in it has the little cloud icon above it. I assume this means download the data from my Nintendo account which i obviously can’t do so how do i work around this? Do i transfer it from my original sd card or something? Any help is really appreciated
Suppose I have sysnand and emunand backups, but the emmc chip itself is damaged and I got a donor emmc flex, how will I restore to that? Will the switch even turn on with the new emmc chip installed?
Question, I was able to backup my sysNand but not my emuNand. I did some research and I guess I forgot to partition my SD. I have a LOT of stuff on my SD and I don't wanna wipe my SD. Is there a way to backup my emuNand without partitioning my SD or do I have to just suck it up and copy my whole sd then partition? I just wanna update my firmware because I can't update any of my games without having the current firmware apparently.
Sorry, I'm new an I'm starting to understand how it works: these backups are supposed to backup all your Switch: internal memory (OFW) and SDD (CFW), right? Another question: now that I have a copy of the internal data, can I extract my games save data and import them to the CFW? Thanks.
Hi, thx for Video, i have some Q i use a 512GB SD Card, so when i backup EMMC and repartition than my SD and not my EMMC will be partitioned so how EMMC backup will help of data loss?
Hi friend, sorry for this question, it's because I don't understand English, I have a Nintendo Switch OLED with brick nand. But emunand alone works perfectly, the question is: with the emunand backup, can I restore the original nand that no longer starts in ofw and in normal cfw? Only cfw emunand works perfectly. Unfortunately I didn't have time to backup the sysnand because the new Samsung SD was faulty. I hope that from the emummc backup we can restore the original brick sysnand. Have you ever tried to see if it works? Thank you 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 help please Bro 😔😔😔
I am just modding my switch now with your most recent mod video. Do I need to do this backup immediately after I finish modding my switch or after I have put some games on my card first? I've updated to the latest ofw 16.1.0 before modding. I have a 128gb card and after doing these 2 backups and saving them on my pc can I delete these from the sd card to restore the space? Thanks again for the videos
Yes so once you back these up into your PC, you can delete them from your sd card. You don’t need to back up your games because you can always reinstall them yourself, but I recommend using JKSV to back up your saves
hello I have a switch that when I want to restore it, in restore boot 0, boot 1, I get error 4 file not found. I made another backup, tried to restore it and the same thing happens. which may be? thank you so much I have hekate V6.0.6
So does this backup all save data and games installed on Emunand? I might need to reformat my SD card so if I backup up my Emunand and restore it to my sd card, will EVERYTHING be there?
So I recommend backing up your saved games using JKSV. Then when you’re done with that back up your sd card to your desktop. Then reformat your sd and restore your emunand and move all your files back in. If your saves are there great! If not you can use JKSV to restore your saves back into your emunand 😊
@@iAmKristoferr one last thing-my switch says I only have 89 gigs left when its a 1tb card. On the hekate partition option it shows the correct amount of storage. Should I forget about it or try and fix it somehow? Love your videos! Very easy to follow and informative!
@@eterwill2999 thank you! The reason is because even though you’re reformatting your sd card the partitions are still there. You’re going to have to use disk manager to completely erase and remove past partitions on the SD card
Old question but for anyone who might see this, if you installed hekate, you don't need to reflash your stock system if you use emmc instead of sysmmc as emmc creates a separate OS on your micro SD and your sysnand (original os) can be booted in through the hekate boot menu at payloads.
Thank you for the step by step videos. Anti confusing. Really appreciate that.
