This is so perfect for where I'm going! From this I can learn all diatonic chords, inversions, chord roots and transposition!! I started in C then E, then Db then D. So, very nice! I liked that you use the 1-6-4-2-5-1. That gives me all but the iii and vii. I'm sure I can add those in too. And I get an introduction to gospel piano. Wonderful sir. Just wonderful! Thank you!

I thoroughly enjoyed this training and will be looking forward to more. You explained everything so well. My mother was our church musician but she passed 2 years ago. She could only play old Baptist hymns and our choir songs were sung with CD accompaniment. I am ready to move from CD's because many of the songs we sing are not contemporary and are difficult to find on sites that sell accompaniment CDs. I was forced to take piano as a child and can read music (I also played the flute for many years), but I have no idea how to play by ear. I pray your program and method will be a God send.
When I say I just got so excited when I played How Great Is Our God. But before I played it, when we went through the chords for EMajor I could hear that this is the same key that How Great You Are by David and Nicole Binion is in! I’m wayyyyyy too excited
The other thing is to learn how scales are formed. For example; the major scale is made up of 2 1/2, 3 1/2 i.e 2 whole tones, a half tone, 3 whole tones and a half tone. This will allow one to calculate any major scale from the starting note. Also if one learns the altered scale as h_W_h_WWW; one can create an altered scale off of any dominant chord. The trick to learning scales is mesmerising their intervals.
