They say Kiwis are a bit adventurous, but this winter, I took it to a whole new level. I embarked on a wild 30-day challenge: a daily plunge into the icy waters of New Zealand's southern lakes, rivers, and beaches. This adventure took me from the majestic mountains of Queenstown and Wanaka to the remote beauty of Te Anau and the Catlins. Even Christchurch got its fair share of polar bear dips!
Every day was a battle against the elements, but the stunning scenery - think crystal clear lakes, cascading waterfalls, and wild coastlines - made it all worthwhile. The cold bites, for sure, but there's a certain accomplishment that comes with pushing your limits, and the camaraderie with fellow plungers (or should I say, crazy people?) was incredible.
The grand finale? An epic bonfire party with my best mates! After a month of icy dips, celebrating with laughter, stories, and maybe a little too much whiskey was the perfect way to end this unforgettable adventure.
