I wish we'd had the opportunity to read this brilliant writer rather than Peig Sayers. In 2021 I will read his works in Irish that's my resolution for the New Year.
Peig was a good storyteller and had a fair sharp sense of humour. Don't let the atrocious Irish school system colour your perception of her. If it had been Ó Cadhain shoved down people's unprepared throats they'd be complaining about his work too,not because of the work itself, but because of the school experience and how it was presented to them.
Faraor bhí an ceart aige. Tá ár dteanga ár gcultúr agus ár ndúchais caillte againn. Níl ach Sásana beag in Éire anois.
How do you say England in Gaelic?
Bhí an cheart aige

Seans go bhfuil an ceart aige. Níl mórán ama agam do náisiúnachas cibé ar bith.
Sách ráite agat, a Mháirtín
Πολύ εύηχη γλώσσα! Κρίμα που χάνεται!

also his writing was pretty experimental
Where did this clip come from? I'm writing a little essay for school and I'd like to be able to appropriately attribute the source of this interview.
