A new state-of-the-art training centre for Chinook helicopters has opened at RAF Odiham in Hampshire. Augmented reality technology allows crews to rehearse virtual missions and practise the handling of the aircraft in a range of emergency scenarios. We have been there to have a look...

anyone got a link to the amra 3 mod they are playing?
If they signed with lockheed martin, This should be P3D
This is pretty impressive and honestly a great resource for everybody. If it provides the same dynamics as a commercial airline simulator, with the dynamics of a combat simulator, this would be very valuable, same lives, save money in the long term and make the training more accessible. I had no idea this was in development for this aircraft. Nice!
Looks like a great resource. It's a shame the graphics are still pretty bad, but they do the job.
They tend to be as most of the computing power is working towards realistic physics and flying data
@@cymro8902 pitty they can only afford one computer.
@@jimmyryan5880 it's fine when you've only got one aircraft 😂
They've had them at another location for about 15 years. Just the front end though. Fantastic way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
Thank you
Technology great!
As it turned out, it was not a game changer 🙃
DCS MOD?
Is it available on PC?
@PewDiePie-Topic _Coughs loudly_ it isn't
Allison Ferns?
Uplifting!
I would join but you have to be British civilian/live in England for 5 years to join
Depends what country your from, recently they allowed commonwealth countries to instantly join up whether or not they have lived in the UK before.
@@Morgan12858 I'm from Lithuania But i live in Ireland over a decade these two countrys aren't Commonwealth
@@mataspetruska514 Republic of Ireland or northern Ireland?
@@Morgan12858 Republic
@@mataspetruska514 Ah right, if you really wanna join then apply for a citizenship; they hand them out to terrorists all the time you A ok
....or they could have bought some Occulus Rift devices?
VR is great for training tactics and crew coordination but lacks in training technical skills and operating equipment under stress situations.
VR would make simulated training more accessible on a unit level so it would be a great addition.
Graphics are terrible. Much better using Oculus Rift and FFS. Fly inside.
It isn’t all about graphics though, it’s a simulator which is only really meant to provide a semi realistic experience.
first
It’s not a gun
What are you talking about?
Why is the guy called a gunner than?
He’s not called a gunner. He’s a weapon system operator.
@@ballisticpanda3020 i worked with him last summer, he is technically a wsop but he has done gunner training and a airload master
