@@imaxdigital7052 Medical Records are protected by HIPAA Laws. That being said, you should answer all questions on the FAA Medical Application fully and accurately. Failure to disclose a medication or medical condition when applying for an FAA Medical can have severe consequences.
@@legalapproach If your application is deferred, won't they request more information? Or are you simply saying that a person doesn't have to give it to them? I guess I'm just confused. If they ask for detailed notes from your doctor about a previous condition, and you refuse to give them that, they'd just deny your certification, wouldn't they?
I made the mistake of not disclosing a dui during my initial first class medical. I am currently a student and needed the first class medical for school. I am 44 years old right now. I got the DUI when I was in my early 20's and an undergraduate. Should I contact my medical examiner now and tell him? It was so long ago, I don't remember all of the particulars, but I believe I blew close to .15 area. Any counsel/advise on how I can possibly salvage this situation and still pursue an aviation career would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. @@legalapproach
I am very grateful, I stuck by a rule don’t drink and drive.
The NDR record request is Not a Privacy Act Request.
Individual NDR records are a FOIA request?
I am more worried about them checking my prescriptions.
Invasion of privacy.
The FAA cannot see your prescriptions, unless you provide that information directly.
@@legalapproach So if you didn't disclose that information during your medical cert, that wouldn't even be able to find out? Are you sure?
