This video proves the teams attention to detail, the spot on comparisons by all. And Cole and Juan are a great mix. Juan is a master at navigation in personalities. This is one of my fav by far😎😎😎
While not a Road Glide, I purchased the new 2024 Street Glide, and one thing they did touch on, but want to really hammer home, that lighter feeling in the 2024 models really sealed the deal for me. I'm average height and slightly above average strength, and getting the 2024 off the kick stand compared to a 2023 or even a 2022 was super noticeable. Great video and keep on riding!
Things one got in years past on a Road Glide or Electra Glide that came standard (Before Harley put profit ahead of their customer): Passenger floorboards. Rear saddlebag crash bars with wrap around rails. Front fender light and trim. Front fender skirt. Front fender script name. Aux front lights (Electra Glide). No glitch analog gauges. Separate front/rear turn signals. Tour Pac. Rear bumper with fender light. 2 real shocks in the rear.
@@geraldgoodiii6993 Has any bike died yet because of computer issues? You mean the one guy on youtube who left his bike in transport mode and didn't turn it off so it bricked because it thought it was being stolen?
For $30k, I was torn between a 24 Road Glide and a 19 Road Glide CVO Stage 4 with low miles. I decided on the 19 CVO. Happy with it, but just realized I have the fluid transfer problem after changing my fluids yesterday. That 24 Blue Burst still catches my eye.
I love....love....love my brand new looking 2015 RGD with a 2 stage 103. Yes, I could go to my local Harley-Davidson dealer and purchase a new 2024 RG. But why? My 2015 Road glide has plenty of power, it looks awesome, and it does everything the newer bikes do while maintaining the classic Harley-Davidson experience.
I found out that the 24’s have sensor by by the clutch cover that will let you know what gear you are in when the clutch is engaged. And also the throttle sensitivity can be adjusted through the mode switch.
Thanks for the great Vlog with amazing info. I recently purchased a ‘24 Road Glide after 4 Street Glides and could NOT be happier! You guys are the best and hope Cole grabs a ‘24 as well. He’s got a killer design mind (to compliment yourself and Juan of course) and would love to see what he does. Ride safe!!!!
had a 2018 RG, just under 60k, got the new 24 standard couple months ago, pushing 5 k so far, absolutely love it, so far changed bars, new seat, and added slider style saddlebag bag guards, tab slip ons, average 46mpg highest mph was 50.1 consistent at 46 MPG. I'm loving it. Got a couple more 1000 plus trips planned this month and July.. I'm loving this 117 and the controls are a non issue, pretty ergonomic. it would be nice to have a VERY LOW dim blue or orange light on the controls at night, especially the right side cluster, just my opinion. Stay safe Really Appreciate your channel and products!!! those other guys, they're pretty awesome as well😂😂❤❤❤
They said you’re going to be able to buy the CVO controls soon. They light up. Maybe out already I asked and they said they were waiting for warranty issues before they could throw them on other bikes.
100% agree about the 24 throttle. When I first picked up my 24 CVO RG i was sitting there and was reaching the thumb over to change tracks on a song at the light and I reved the shit out of the throttle lol.. The hand controls IMO are far far too fat and hard to reach. I am slowly getting used to reaching those thumb sticks but man with gloves it just feels clunky. Love the new fairing on the RG. I was a SG guy for life so I thought, till I saw the new RG fairing in person and now I own one. Great video!
Excellent comparison video !!!! There is a lot more info than most of your fellow youtube posters. You guys have the benefit of working/wrenching on bikes to develop your catalog, so your info is better than most. I'm an older rider (close to your dad's age) so I don't always agree with the way you guys ride, but it is always entertaining.
Love the new look of the road glide. 20 years riding batwings and I switched because of the looks. I have found with the change I prefer the fixed fairing much more.
Y'all are hella awesome. "THRASIN SUPPLY ROCKS " Hey Lance you know I don't even own a bike. But have bought 3 different pairs of gloves, several shirts, and handlebar bag the red one....... Love your vlogs bro 🤘 Both you and Juan definitely have some badass rides......
I prefer my pre-rushmore bikes, just more to my liking. My 07 is only 761 lbs, and I like the lightweight road glides and my double din inner faring and 6 X 9 speakers 🔊
The other difference is while the headlight on both is LED, you still have incandescent stop/turn/tail lights on the non 24 models to change out. Also if you want the blacked out trim option instead of chrome, you save a little as only the sg/rg specials had the blacked out trim, which cost more than the standard.
Another great video guys. Im new to motorcycle/ harleys and back in march i went in and bought my first bike. I had the option between 2 brand new bikes 23 rg and 24 rg. I ended up picking the 24 rg. I had the same initial thoughts as you guys stated about the 24s but seeing it in person and now having a few months riding and owning it, it grew on me. Also watching this video and getting your guys perspectives and comparisons with experience on both bikes i feel like i made the right choice. Keep up the great content. 🤙
Started working at a harley dealer back in april.. the 24 road glide a new fairing that was wind tunnel tested and tested by riders.. significantly reduces wind buffeting.. the water cooling was also rerouted and the rear cylinder is 40 degrees cooler when sitting in traffic.. makes a massive difference and wont have you stripping your pants off coz "your balls was hot".. another important thing to mention is the upgraded suspension.. re-tuned forks, and the rear end is set up for an additional 50% suspension travel.. also, the adjustability and the ease of adjustment is much easier and can be tuned much more than factory suspension on previous years.. the road glide also has better factory bars that puts you in a much better seating position.. the street glide still has short little bars.. they feel pretty gross.. The GPS isn't monthly, it's 400 for 3 years... if you're living in today's world and don't have apple car play or android auto, you're going to have to pay it if you want GPS.. its very easy to set up your phone to have GPS without having to pay for the harley stuff
GPS isn’t a monthly subscription, it’s a one time fee. If you want updates past 3 years (pretty sure it’s 3), you have to pay for those. I got it to have as a backup in case I’m somewhere with no cell data
You can actually get a half shell helmet in the 24 bags a lot easier than my 2017 flhxs. I will be buying the blue burst RG sometime soon. Have taken several test rides and i love the bike. I also love my 2017 as it's the hard candy hot red flake with the flames and big flake paint. The 2024 is so much smoother and more comfortable and I always hated older RG's, but love this new one.
Loved the honesty in your comparison guys I have an old FLHX that I’ve dialed in I’ve been kicking around the idea of getting a new RG but maybe I just have two bikes 😂😂
Well done, y'all. 👍🏼Having ridden and reviewed the new one, I came to a similar conclusion about it. The one point of divurgence: I wasn't as in love with the new front suspension as Cole seemed to be. I felt it to be a bit bouncy. Maybe stock to stock it's an improvement over the old, but that is not saying much. .
I would have kept my bike if I didn't get cut off last Thursday. I believe the my insurance company will total my bike out and I will be getting a 24 model Road Glide. Just don't know if I'm going to get the CVO, CVO ST or the base model. First, I have to heal because I fractured my right clavicle in my accident. I am luck to being still walking this earth and looking forward to the future holds for me. I will be getting some Thrashin stuff from you guys when it comes to it. Keep up the good work guys.
Lance is 5'9", Cole is 5"10", and they both don't have any issues seeing the infotainment system! Once you're sitting on the bike you have clear visibility, the pictures and video just don't do it justice
You able to get better fuel economy because of the variable valve timing VVT. Gives you better control of the valve. The interesting thing is the 2024 CVO ST does not use this system. I wonder if we can get Luke’s take on as to why? As well as plans for developing camshafts for both systems in the near future
I love the newer model, it does grow on you. I like that big Cyclops headlight, looks pretty mean at night. I can’t afford one, but I had the opportunity to throw a leg over and bombed around town. I wanted to take it to the canyons in Lake Hellsinore. Good lookin sled.
I don’t want to shoot myself in the foot here, but here in Canada the navigation is included. No subscription. I love my 2024 Roadglide. Rode an 03 Roadglide for 21 years and made the switch 👊
There it says one on the engine plate made in America I ask a question to clarify it means that it was made in Brazil it was made in Mexico or it was made in Colombia because we are talking about the continent
I like the new one better. But I really like the one with the upside down forks and radial brembo brakes even more. When the new suspension goes onto the standard bike. I’ll buy one.
Freaking Juan's bike looks so sick with the black and chrome. The thrashing parts on it look really good as well. You guys make the best looking parts. Look forward to the day i can put those parts on my bike! Maybe if Trump wins i will be able to afford a whole new bike setup.
I don't like the tank. I can get over the headlight. But the iconic bulbus h.d tank is just part of how I think about a harley and its image. The infotainment is the same kinda feeling. Plus, you damage it, and everything is boned. And likely not cheap.
Looks wise : When I first saw a Rushmore RG with the way the lights look.. a black one of course.. thought it looked like a fkn hit man bike or something. The new bike is better in every measurable way. Old one looks better IMO Both are amazing rides
Good comparison, but the frame is outdated on these bikes , Harley has made no updates to it since 2009. They need to go to a lightweight aluminum frame with a rear monoshock that has 5" of travel like Indian motorcycles use. The Indian suspension is also adjustable thru the infotainment screen. I dont care for Indians but they do have a much smoother ride over bad road surfaces than the motor companys offerings.
Lance gave Juan so much crap a couple years ago for getting the black road glide lol. Why did you guys get a black 24 model? It’s extra money, and the orange, white and blue all look sick.
For once, EU get luckier: satellite navigation is standard on ours. Also pricing, i would have compared with the old ST: similar engine and riding aids.
I found it interesting they adapted the electronic nightmare from the Pan America on the new dresser before even figuring out where all the Electro Gremlins lived in those bikes. Kind of sad.....
I get 43+mpg on my 124 m8 2023 FLTRX I’ve seen close to 50 running at 80mph just cruising .. so all hwy But it’ll get into upper 30s getting on it hard I’d love those liquid heads tho that don’t need ugly ass lowers
It is just crazy they still haven't put on better front and rear suspension. Like just throw on inverted forks already. It should be standard now. Indian throws it on their challengers for about the same price. And dual disc brembos. I think if Harley did that they would see a better return of customers and new customers.
The brakes are Brembo. Just Harley branded. They put the bigger brembos and inverted forks on the CVOs last year. And the Challenger still is soooo ugly compared to the RG.
the 2024 RG is NOT a base model. Its the only model The 117 is NOT the base model engine. Its the only engine. Seems people just cant understand this. The ST and 121 are CVO only. Embedded navigation is NOT monthly. Its $350 every 3 years. The rest of the video pretty awesome.
The new bags have a full two liters more capacity. So that .1CF represents two full liters more storage space. That really is a lot. I just don't like the short look of the bags. I need the bags to cover up the ugly exhausts as much as possible on any bike.
Hi Guys.. check out Holy Shift’s vlog on his trip to LA.. they feature you guys.. surprised you didnt know his channel.. Him and his buddy Cycle Fanatix have 2 of the best channels.. and Cycle Fanatix just hosted 2 Lane Life in Jersey.. They just bought your 9 1/2 inch mid bend bars for their bikes.. I love how Lance said” with passengers in the back?”.. 😂😂😂.. The guy was a fighter jet pilot!! LOL

the 2024 RG is NOT a base model. Its the only model The 117 is NOT the base model engine. Its the only engine. Seems people just cant understand this. The ST and 121 are CVO only.
Embedded navigation is NOT monthly. Its $350 every 3 years.
The rest of the video pretty awesome.
This makes no sense.
Soooo the ST and CVO are Road Glides right? so the one that is not an ST or CVO is.....the base model Road Glide.
The new bags have a full two liters more capacity. So that .1CF represents two full liters more storage space. That really is a lot. I just don't like the short look of the bags. I need the bags to cover up the ugly exhausts as much as possible on any bike.
You guys should get a new Road King.
What kind of sunglasses does Lance have?? lol
