By a Nose was sold out both of the first two time I went through. I love how the brown can turn to purple in the right lighting. Julep and Pim were the two special runs from this tear that I said ‘If I have to murder someone to get these models, I will.’ Luckily, it didn’t come to that. Dead Heat, I only thought I was going to get the chestnut, but the pearly mane and tail on the palomino made me want both. I find that the chestnut photographs better, but the palomino looks just stunning. Dark Horse, I pulled a glossy black on the only one I got. Tbh I kind of like the matte palomino so I’m debating doing a partial trade, but idk if I want to. It sounds like you had an amazing time at Breyerfest ❤️❤️❤️
Awesome haul!!! Favorites are the bay leopard Appy and black Dark Horse surprises, and Ichabod Crane. My wife does have the chase Spirit with the war paint. She got him at Walmart, and felt all the bags until she found it. They were supposed to be in every 4th box of blind bags. This was after she bought a blank Spirit and painted one. So now she has 2--hers and Breyer's.

Omg I didn't even open my special run until I got back to Texas, you brace soul! I was soooo afraid to scratch them, I got Juniper and Prim. It was my first go so I was only able to work up 200$ but managed to wiggle people enough in the clarion to end up with 14 horses! I was really bummed that I didn't get Harley, but the owner did sign my shirt so😂

Hopefully someday you'll be able to go! I haven't counted my models in years, so I have no idea, but I'm guessing somewhere also around 1,500 (all scales).
OMG We ended up with the same 3 surprises! 😂 I ended up getting an extra ticket from someone who was leaving a day early and got both dead heat variations And I named my By a Nose Rubicon ^^ So it's kinda gender neutral haha.
I believe about 32 traditionals and stablemates and if I include the mini whinnies it would be 39 horses total :) I have no idea how many are in my collection. Haha! I haven't counted in a couple years and with about half my models packed away, it's hard to tell. I've been estimating around 1,000 though, including all scales of models (from traditionals all the way down to the little mini whinnies). And thank you! :)
Not necessarily. Sometimes certain sellers will have some items they give out for free or have a "free box" of various free things (I myself have done this before once or twice of horse-related items I wanted to get rid of to someone who might enjoy them.) I have seen people give away stablemate bodies and other smaller Breyer models before, but it's not like a guaranteed or official thing that free Breyers are given out at the Clarion. It solely depends on the individual sellers.
Markus is gorgeous, but I wouldn’t recommend him if you plan to live show him. A lottttt of the models have flaws, but they’re gorgeous and I don’t show, so idc
A conga is having 3 or more models on the same mold. When you line them up together, it kind of looks like a conga line dance, which is where the name for it came from :)
