The funny thing is that Luffy didn’t really have to get so serious fighting Hordy, since he basically one-shots him every time he stands back up. The only reason he didn’t get defeated the first time was because one, they needed to have a main villain for Luffy to beat the living shit out of for the end of the arc and two, the steroids were keeping him going longer than he would’ve lasted without them.
It took multiple chunks of steroids for hody to endure one punch of second gear without haki and even then once he did use it he immediately shat on hody luffy was way too far ahead of hody for the steroids to even try to keep up with

It's not a matter of him going all out or whether his foe kept relying on drugs to keep pace... the actual point is that Oda is trying to impart a lesson how artificial enhancements cannot be substituted for real strength. Ergo, Luffys victory was set in stone upon this revelation.
I guess everyone forgot that Hody was also sea-water as a part of his attacks, seriously weakening luffy no matter how he got hit....and hes still strong enough to body Hody like its nothing

The Fishman island arc, the Punk Hazard arc, the Dressora arc, the Zou arc and the Whole Cake Island arc all got pretty much the same art and animation. I dont understand why people think the recent episodes look so bad.

No, definitely not. The anime is already very long, the fillers are only gonna make it longer. We're all already waiting for Luffy to finally turn into his new gear the manga readers are talking about, and there's only so much patience we anime only have.

While adding fillers increases the episode count, it also reduces the amount of scene stretching we've been experiencing, thus lowering the episode count. We'd quite literally get more content for the same amount of watch time. Or they could have just made it a seasonal anime and the series would potentially end by episode 1000 due to no longer needing to release episodes while waiting for more source material.
