Excellent review on these drums. One of the best I’ve found. Great job! I love mine in these same sizes (Piano Black). These really do take one by surprise.
I bought a renown maple 2 years ago. Best drums I've ever owned. They speak back to you. Sound great quiet and open up great when played loud... They are musical. They got some special sauce- don't know what it is, but they are great.
Great video. You, and Gretsch, nailed it with your review and their drums. For the price point, you really cannot beat these forums. The quality is outstanding. I myself, have the rock configuration, in the Vintage Pearl finish and couldn't be happier. And your video hit on all the innovations, these drums come with. Great review...........Thanks, Tommy
Just got the American fusion size configuration in Vintage pearl 🤩😍🤩😍 Sounds like a dream! Beautiful finish, LOVE the walnut hoops with the matching wrap inlay 🤤 So easy to tune. I can go into such a wide range of sounds. The 302 hoops have more than earned the nickname "Stick choppers" but they really do make the drum SING. Well worth the price 🇨🇦
The Taiwan plant is a DW factory as part of a partnership with Gretsch. The specs are Gretsch and the quality is awesome! The Catalina Club series are also made there. @@MsSetagaya
Yeah you can, I added a bass drum mount to my Satin White RN1 kit from 2015. If you are in the UK I highly recommend getting Richard Newby to do the work for you.

I really want a piano black kit. Of course I could go lower and a Catalina Club in piano black too.

It’s like a nice merlot wine. Goes well with a lot of music, has good rich nuances. Nothing too extreme and well balanced.
The Renown series are all maple shells and I believe 7 ply. The USA Custom is 6 ply maple/ gum formula.

they should make one with a 26 kick, that would make me interested. nice wrap
I’m on my second Renown, it’s a great kit and really nicely made!
Beast of a kit. We're glad you're enjoying it enough for a 2nd one!
greed, must you have 2
Are these latest Renowns still made in Taiwan? Or did they switch to China?
@@MsSetagaya They're still made in Taiwan. Awesome build quality. Love my RN2.

Great review my friend.
Is the bass drum Tom mount going to be available separately, would love to convert my undrilled bass!

Stacy Plant many thanks, yes uk based
Richard Hammond with a mustache.
Hahaha
USA Customs are NOTHING like Renown drums.
@Thomas Nappo Have you played both of them?? The sound and feel are completely different.
I have seen Ludwig Classic Maple , Gretsch USA custom and a Gretsch Renown (Rn2)
Which sounded almost the same with the same tuning, from high to low.
bullshit.
@@lieutenantcolumbo114So the Renown is best value for money!
@drumm...
Agree dear friend, but honestly I prefer the Yamaha stage custom ;)
