They should’ve never cut the assault rifle with under barrel grenade launcher, that against hunters and the flood would’ve been sooo fun especially because the shotgun is hella OP so I don’t see it as a balancing issue since it wouldn’t take away from any weapon options and could’ve made it found on only certain levels.

Yeah its always be strange to think about how radically different the series may have been with how many gameplay styles and changes were made over the course of its development, if i rember correctly at one point the game was more like just cause in space 😅. Makes you wonder if the series would have been as successful if it had come out in one of these other forms?

It's so funny learning up on games like CE and HL1. Their development was so ad hoc and chaotic but it meshed well together like a bunch of street musicians coming together for a random impromptu concert.
You know they based the Marine Armor on the movie Aliens. The fact the assualt rifle in this has an underbarrel grenade launcher reminds me of the pulse rifle.

I have a copy of the version they used for the graphics card add Its the same as the reguler e3 demo they had on display The gpu add is its own video file The only level is the silent cartographer And i has a version of bloodgulch with a diffrent spawn for the flamethrower
What's sad, is that alot of these things could've fit in, the expanded universe. When halo 3 came out the History was more or less cemented. So adding these things in the following games here and there, would've showed alot. Namely in this scenario many human colonies were around for a long time before the events of halo, therefore you can have older and more varied weapons and vehicles, and chalk it up to equipment that wasn't standardized.
It would’ve done well and held the same tone as the released ce. Story may have been different but the multiplayer system layout would have been the same with the 8 screens on one tv with 8v8 lan parties

It uses updated pre-release assets from the Digsite team to work in an FPS rendition of Halo, compared to when it was going to be a third person shooter. It would have been more accurate of you to show the 1999 Macworld trailer or the E3 2000 trailer, to be honest.

Interestingly, Halo: Combat Evolved did end up running exclusively by Nvidia GPUs: X GPU, XGPU-S, and XGPU-B. They are better known by their codename "NV2A" as part of the same family as the Geforce3 and 4 GPUs.
That makes me excited for the fact that maybe 343 will include this stuff to replace what the original halo CE had it definitely will be interesting and I hope the remake of the first three games aren’t reboots like what happened with Modern warfare

I ran flame thrower on most bug missions for a loooong time, since they nerfed I havent touched it. Tried each of the new flame guns for a mission each and hated them, seems really fun but their damage output was horrible, and the secondary was even worse with how small the fuel reserve is (I understand its a secondary but with the nerfs its good for maybe a small handful of weak enemies). Have since gone back to the cookout and i do enjoy it, HOWEVER, it doesn't feel like it packs the punch it should. Really enjoy it against warriors and lower, as well as shriekers, and it's great against brood commanders and stalkers as far as stopping them and getting some space, but again feels a bit underpowered for them.
It would have been nice if you clarified that you're playing the mod you didn't name when stating modders brought the cut weapons back. This isn't what the game would have looked like, but this is the best interpretation from these modders. Only then models and textures were extracted. They mode animations, the map, coding, etc.
It was originally built for apple, then ported to PC before release. But then they scrambled to port it exclusively to Xbox and had to cut out a ton of the game content. Not saying it was a bad evolution. But I remember these ads and the old Se7enth Column boards. I used to have OG voice cuts and bloopers on a school laptop.
