The first time I heard this OST at the start of CS2, I was fucking losing it. I had literally started it right after finishing 1 because of its ending. This track hit hard that first time
The song works best when Rean is still searching for Class 7 and we still have a feeling of dread and anxiousness, the moody doesn't fit through endgame, other great songs come to help it tho
@@BigPandaGamer I can agree with although I found this theme better than CS3, I still like CS3 theme regardless but this one is my personal favourite
@@BigPandaGamer It could work for the fact that Erebonia is kind of screwed and things are not as peaceful as in the first game, it's no longer a class trip but life/death.

I picked this game up immediately after beating the first, and the moment I heard this new battle theme kick in, I knew I was in for an amazing ride. The feeling behind it, given the context of everything going on, is just so perfect.

Jesus, out of all main battle themes this one, this one is something else, it just captures the feeling of the game so well and also its just so epic and badass
This was my favourite battle theme up until I heard Cold Steel's 4 theme
Cold Steel 2's and 4's battle themes are really awesome!
Hearing this in snowy mountain of ymir the first time just makes me love this ost

I fail to understand why some people dislike this battle theme. I read a comment before on a different video where someone thought this one was "boring" what? 💀 Its my 2nd favorite behind CS4'S.
It's because most people have an problem with the intro of the track apparently
Yeah the intro is kinda whack but damn after the first few notes the rest of the song is killer
You can feel the anxiety and loneliness Rean feels as he finds his friends with this bgm.
Indeed, this song has a lot of effect on the player in the very beginning of the game. It feels distressful in those early moments, but yet so empowering by the end of the game.
It does sound more like determination to me

The moment I started my first fight in CS2 (a week ago on pc) I felt my heart pumping so hard, it was just too awesome and too great to be back. And now I finished the game I feel empty once again, the same feeling I had with each chapter of trails in the sky and now each chapter of Cold steel. Now I have to wait for the CS3 pc release bcs I don't want to lose my CS2 data (which will take even longer then ps4 release I presume)
There is no takeover data for CS3.
You are right, it's because CS2 was for ps3 and CS3 is for ps4 which I totally forgot, would love for the pc version to have transfer data still tough :/

I think CS3 just lets you tell it the important choices from previous games directly. Besides Alisa gets the most "non-optional" relationship teasers in both CS3 and 4 anyway. Makes you wish they would have just dumped the whole "choose your girl" mechanic since they pushed Alisa even harder than Elie (and Falcom basically ignored all of the Crosbell games optional relationships and instead canonized the relationship tease between Lloyd and Elie so I'm almost expecting them to do the same with Rean and Alisa).
When you make every monster fight epic. I honestly feel like every fight is important because of the bgm alone.
was too intense for it to be the regular battle for me, i had to change it to cs1 theme
I like how the Sen battle themes are named. The first one always mentions steel ("The Glint of Cold Steel", "Brave Steel") and the second high temperature ("Heated Mind", "Burning Throb")
kind of ironic how the English title is ‘Cold Steel’ yet the temperature mentioned is always hot in addition to CSIII’s logo quite literally being on fire
@@chefofthetrashIt actually fits better with the Japanese name, if you really think about it. The real name for the Cold Steel Saga is actually "Sen no Kiseki", with "sen" in this case referring to the glint of light reflected off of the metal of a blade. Fire is associated with heat and gives off light, so it's actually quite fitting. It's like Rean's passion is being reflected in his blade (which, incidentally, is exactly what the video image shows). It's probably also why Rean's thematic color is red.
When the battle doesnt feel the same as Thors academy days...
I jever thought I'd miss the Thors days man, ToCS really makes me feel nostalgic for the first game XD

Is it just me or does it feel a bit awkward that it's only been a month? The way the characters react to each other makes it seem like they've been apart for years...I think that would've been a more compelling, if cliched, narrative.
@@Baba-yv6ml I think its because that the reason they go seperate ways in the first place is to survive. even celine said that in that one month gap, rean could've died. it's less "We haven't seen each other for a long time" and more "I am so glad you're alive"

曲で内戦の悲しさや切なさを表現してるようでいて、かっこよくもあり好きなBGMです
Hearing this on you first battle is something unique. I fell in love with it from the first moment. Up to date it's one of my favorite battle themes
Reminds me a lot of Sky SC's battle theme. They both sound so strange compared to their first themes.
That's probably because the feelings / themes the song invokes such as growth/maturity, loss, responsibility etc, are so similar.

@@d3ly746 I feel the same way as Roswell, but on Crossbell saga, I don't feel like Llyod grow as Estelle and Rean. Llyod is already a grow man and a police officer with a sense of duty, meanwhile Estelle and Rean are discovering themselves.

when this battle theme starts all i can hear is Rean saying "Burn to Ash"
I used to think this was a bit light after coming straight from cs1 into cs2.
Listening to it more and more though it grew on me and still in my opinion one of the best tracks in the series.

After finished Cold Steel 1, and start playing Cold Steel 2, I didn't expect much.. but this music makes my view a bit different.. I feel like I should even fight those wisp in Ymir even though we're like 40+ levels apart, lol

@@ilyasbasuki3207 duuuude I thought I was just getting unlucky but after reading all these comments, holy hell. just started this game yesterday and already feel like I'm fighting for my life everytime, no matter if it's a boss or common enemy, this game is no joke compared to the first one.

Listening to this again. It really feels like it could work as an opening for the first few episode if Cold Steel 2 ever get an anime. Though if I remember right. the Cold Steel anime that's coming in 2022 won't be adapting the main story.
And apparently that new story will be getting its own game too.

This was good for the opening but really fell off anywhere after since the vibe just fits the cold, broken “gotta catch up” lonely rush back to things when you start.
Check Megaman Zero 2’s first stage theme and area.

The opening part is shit, the rest is great. Im so glad Cold Steel 3's battle music immediately starts with the fast-paced part. Imagine if this started at 0:17
I like the build up, as battles start with you deciding what to do, rather than any action, but it could be cut in half to come closer to when you make your first action
I hate the high pitch intro so much. Everything is perfect - but why the high pitch! It's memorable but annoying!!! D:

@@d3ly746 given this ost isn't just a song but is filled with the main characters feelings of anxiety and loneliness as well as encompassing the feeling of being lost from what happened in the previous game it really is better then an ost that is just there for the sake of being a fun pump up ost.
you're also comparing 3 of what you might consider the best persona osts to one ost that isn't even the best in this series.

Usually I love the music in the Trails series, but this is the single worst RPG battle theme I have ever heard, and it's not even close.

In Sen II Rean trying to finding his friend back and to get his friend back is not a easy thing to do
you can feel Rean anxiety and loneliness from this BGM
@@ryzen2824 I know this is a year old comment but I feel like having the first battle track from the first game should've been in the game as well. Dont get me wrong, this track has its place and i do agree with the way you interpret the track but I personally would have preferred the old track in the shrines or in specific areas, that would be much MUCH better in my opinion, having two battle tracks at different times. They brought back the arcus track so there was no reason not to bring back the other track since they could have used it in certain areas/fights, they kinda dropped the ball on that end but nonetheless, this track is still good.

The Glint of Cold Steel had a calm tone because it was supposed to be your typical school life
Heated Mind: Rean trying to find his friends, with a "Heated Mind" from Celine making Valimar flee Trista
Brave Steel: Typical school life, but with a conspiracy in motion
Burning Throb: Trying to fix the damage caused by the Great Twilight, mixed with the calmness of Eryn
Worst battle theme.
