You’ve never seen his carrying dribble skills? Well, he still needs to improve the accuracy on his cross as a fullback but he’s shown many amazing plays so far in the attacking phase as well🤔
@@kei4973 yeah he does transition quickly aswell like he gets the ball and will immediately run with it and look for space so he has that overall speed like he mentioned

Kos and Mert defence was suspect at times, I remember hearing pundits and fans criticising them at times.
Tomiyasu will be the best Arsenal right back in the last 30 years.
I have been a fan since 2012. This is already an improvement on Per and Laurent partnership. Tomiyasu gives great security too, definitely better than Sagna. Tierney is an upgrade on Gibbs or Monreal.
We could have a 30 goal conceded season with these boys, rather than the 50 we usually let in.
30 might be too much in my view . we can keep 20 clean sheets this season or more. Our main issue now is lack of goals.
Monreal is a great player, consistent in defend and attack.. tierney too much injury prone and only has one skill that is crossing. Early to judge tierney been better than monreal, hardly consistent enough and always getting injured
@@kabengwapatu4563 30 aint too much in current league. You might get shipped in 3-5 goals a game, if can maintain the rest a clean sheet its still 10 games and under games with leak defence. Still good return point wise
Sid Seven injury prone, yes. But only skill is crossing? What on earth are you on about? He’s strong defensively, he’s super fast, good passes and reads the game well

As long as i can remember watching arsenal, they never associate with defending. They always being associate with its beautiful play and attacking prowess. But this new group of defender makes the difference, it is a joy to watch.
That means you're relatively young. Before Wenger, 'one nil to the Arsenal' and 'Boring Arsenal' were a thing.
Wenger took over a team with Seaman, Dixon, Bould(Keown), Adams, Winterburn. One of the absolute best back fives(six) at the time. Hopefully Arteta can create something similar and get our attack blossoming as well.

That back five/six were the basis of Wenger's team being so good. All we needed to do was score one goal and it was almost game over for the opposition.
This defensive line up look good too. Seems they are all intelligent as well. Something I can't say about other Arsenal defenders 8-))...
In the 1998/99 season we only conceded 17 goals all season. As good as our new defence is we have some way to go in order to match that. Chelsea have only conceded 4 goals after 11 matches so they might beat it.
It would be unfair to compare goals against with that team though. The opposition today is way better offensively than back then.

For me it's Gabriel. He's taken a massive step forward and at 23, he's just starting to look the goods. If (and it's a big if) he stays healthy, the defense is going to be fun to watch
He always been the goods mate. Remember last season when he play with David we get better point return compared to when he out injured
May be best U24 back 5 in Europe.
I dont see Saliba replacing Ben or Gabriel. The reason Arteta choose Ben because of his ability to carry the ball foward, flair which Saliba dont have and stiff. Saliba better on the air but we already got Tomi and Gabriel both superior. All these 4, Tomi is the best, he can defend ground and on the air, he can run, dribbling and carry the ball fwd, he can cross and he can pass accurately. He can play as RB, LB, CB, CDM. He is strong, fast and no injury prone. Almost perfect, he need to score goal thats it.
You do realise that ball progression is one of Saliba's biggest strengths right he's not stiff at all very agile for his size and tbh when it comes to decision making and positioning defensively he's better than White is in those areas.

RB: Tomiyasu. CB: White , Gabriel. LB: Tierney. Covers: Saliba, Holding, Tavares, Niles. If we utilise them all and further develop them and keep them fit then we won’t need to buy a defender for a while. Still lacking in Striker. We should sell Auba and Laca this January buy a young striker and utilise Martinelli and Nketiah more often.
I believe next target would be offensive since our defensive game is much better even in depth.
Eddie start to feel like Bendtner 2.0. let him decide where he want to play. Keep Laca to next 2 season if possible and definitely get 2 new striker before Laca left.
Saliba needs to be given a chance next season I don’t care if he’s still raw he’s by far our third best Center back and presumably we’ll be back in Europe so he should get plenty of minutes

@@antonydil7244 he just isn’t I know our fan base ha hyped him up a lot and he is good but he’s not a finished player by any means he still has a lot of developing to do but he’s definitely ready to be a first team player and he’s our 3rd best centre back

I don't like how much time Tierney is allowing opponent players to clip crosses in from that side. It's been a slow start to the season by his standards,here is to hoping he can really pick up beginning with Palace! 📈

Maybe Saliba looks more composed n calm on the ball... But i think Arteta wants the physicality of White in his line up to pair with Gabriel especially when Tierney always pushing foward... I dont see Saliba replacing White, its more to him rotating with Tomiyasu on the right... So they can shift to back 3 while attacking... but, to me, I'm ok with the defense coz we'll have 5 good defenders at the back to keep rotating... Tavares also looks promising...
I miss them ..they gave us solid vibe ..

You know what upsets me about this video? How great our defence looks and how they are actually decent at passing out the back long or short.....only for the recievers to miscontrol it. Pepe mostly but our attacked in general need to learn to control the ball. We played out best with Lacazette as the target man imo.
Auba is our best striker at the moment. Unfortunately he's not very good with his back against the goal, and is not a good target man.
Laca is a decent target man, but lacks height and won't sign a new contract.
Hopefully either one of our other young strikers takes the step up, or we get in a target man who can both hold the ball up and combine with our other attackers and get on the end of crosses.
Personally I want to see if Pepe could be good as a striker. He's good with his back against the goal, is fast, great technique and decent at finishing. He could potentially be an 'Auba-Laca' hybrid in my opinion.
@@Sagacity1987 yeah i think Pepe as a striker would be better, balogun fits the target man profile we need but he isn't nplaying senior team football and needs a loan for about a season to be ready.

Throw in the potential of Daniel Ballard in their too if he comes back from his loan with Millwall and it looks even more promising for the future. Not sure what to make of Pablo Mari and holding though? Do they not make the cut because they get inconsistent playing time or are they simply not good enough?
Pablo mari will be a beast at Seria A but epl is too much for him ...he is a solid defender but got no legs so he will be exposed time to time.
And as for Holding he is not the worst player he can do a job but if we want to move to the next level we need something else because he has been here for too many years and we've only stalled and went backward even tho it's not his fault.
Tbh Mari and esspecially Holding are really not that bad as backup squad players, especially considering that Tomi can play CB and we'll have Saliba starting whenever Gabriel/Ben White can't play
I believe Mari needs to go. He's unfortunately not good enough. Holding can be a decent back up and has been on the winning sides in to FA-cup finals being one of our best performers in both. So if he's fine with not being first choice we should keep him. Saliba can play on both sides in a back two, but I think we should go for another one to replace Mari next summer (or when he leaves). I haven't seen Ballard play much so can't say anything about him.
Sell Mari and Holding even if i like him to replace by Saliba and Ballard
True, Tomi can fill in at CB if either white or Gabriel are out and then we have chambers and Cedric at right back as back up. M. Niles can still cover at RB too. Lots of good options at the back finally!

Saliba needs to improve a lot, his passing doesn't look great and looks a bit reckless with tackles which sometimes could be very costly. White and Gabriel are awesome!

This is "PROJECT REBUILD". This is a build for the future in mind. U have to be patient and give it time till it clicks in place. Trust the process.
Give enough time and Real Madrid or Barcelona will come up with some ridiculous offer and buy them.. Then it becomes “PROJECT WHAT NOW?”
@@thegodfather143able well hoenstly that's far off and if players are happy they will stay at the club. Since its a young squad, they have plenty of time to spend and play with each other. I wouldn't worry about real madrid and Barcelona since they themselves are in debt right now. Think positively.
If only Arsenal would have a defense like this during the time they had Ozil, Sanchez, Cazorla, Ramsey etc... In top of that all of them are young thing that could be see as a disavantage in term of experienced specially in defense but if they keep improving like this and stay together like this for year, then Arsenal could have find a real steel wall behind who conceded less than 30 goal per season.
They have the potential to be one of the best defense of PL if not the best and one of the best in the world even specially if they have a good defensive midfield in front of them.

I think Ben White is a better CDM for us. Get Saliba in there next season and use Ben as an anchor/deep passer of the ball in the deeper parts of midfield. Let Thomas the Tank Engine just body some midfielders on his way forward (Box to box). I'd think that'll be a good way for all our talent to play
